Dd1 dd2 and ds are only having a main present (£100 each) with a few small things & dd1 & ds will also only have 1 'big' birthday present each on the 15th and 19th of december. I learned last year they're getting too big for hundreds of toys. Dd3 who will be nearly 2 at christmas will get a few more bits costing around the same as what the others have.

TipBoov · 01/10/2016 12:57

Wow this thread moves quickly!

I had the whooping cough and flu jab yesterday. I'm feeling a bit under the weather and teary, and baby has been moving less I think.. Has anyone else experienced less movements after the jabs?

TipBoov · 01/10/2016 12:58

wilfrhodes id recommend the baby bjorn bouncer, its pricy but lasts longer than most others.

stripeyorangesocks71 · 01/10/2016 13:14

Tipboov had my flu and whooping cough jabs today, must admit the whooping cough one felt far worse as has made my arm go a bit numb. Hope you feel better soon and baby starts moving around more for you soon x

TipBoov · 01/10/2016 13:16

See I get myself worked up because I'm not sure if she is moving less or not! Blush

Although she is moving, so I'm not overly worried. Just going to have some lunch and see if she has a good wriggle, as she normally does after food, if not I'll call the midwife.

Minispringroll · 01/10/2016 13:43

I've had my flu jab this morning. Felt a bit nauseous after and not sure whether it's due to the vaccination or because the small person inside keeps rolling around...Hmm Not sure the jab has affected him in any way. He generally doesn't seem to sleep a lot and wriggles around most of the day,...before properly starting in the evening. He tends to be quite calm during the night, mostly.

We've got a poco hammock instead of a bouncy chair. Do I need one of those, too?

My family are coming to ours for Christmas for a week but they will be staying in a holiday cottage in our village. I don't think I could deal with all these people in the house early in the morning. Grin I'm slowly getting presents together and have something for most people by now. We don't do big presents at Christmas, though, and I'm aware that anything I give them needs to be taken back on a plane. ILs will be coming down for a day during the week and I think we'll go out for a meal.
Nobody's really expecting me to cook loads, since DH is usually doing that anyway. Grin We tend to go to my nan's for Christmas and it means my DM usually cooks there, too. I did, however, get a slow cooker this morning so will be trying out some recipes I've found. Three weeks until I go on mat leave, so it should give me a little bit of time to practise cooking.
It also means I'll have time to decorate the house a bit. I usually don't bother because we aren't really home during the Christmas period most years.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 01/10/2016 13:55

I brought the fisher price woodland baby bouncer in the Argos sale.

I was talking to my friend about Christmas and baby is due the 13th but other then DH I have no one close to me so if i go into labour the closest person to me is over an hour away so not sure what I will do. I have nearly finished my present shopping which is good just a few more to get told DH he is having nothing for Christmas as we are having a baby.

Thisisbonkers · 01/10/2016 14:09

Due on the 4th so Christmas baby isn't a worry, but I do need to start thinking about organising presents.

To add to the bump pictures, here's my not insignificant bump 😮

Bigfam · 01/10/2016 14:23

Awww bonkers your bump is so sweet, you could still successfully hide it as well.
Apparently I've managed to, a mum from dc's school asked me where it came from, I told her it's been there a while and she actually asked ARE YOU SURE Grin errmmm yes definitely.

Bigfam · 01/10/2016 15:58

She's definitely got her sisters button nose

Lovewatchingrainfall · 01/10/2016 16:05

Aww BigFam they are lovely pictures!!

stripeyorangesocks71 · 01/10/2016 18:22

Lovely 4D pics bigfam! I have a 4D scan next Saturday I can't wait Smile

Grapefruit8 · 01/10/2016 20:57

Pics are fab!! Making me want another scan! Finding it so hard to shop with not knowing the sex of the baby- all I have is white white white Confused

firawla · 01/10/2016 21:13

Awwww all the 4d pics are brilliant! I was wanting to go for a proper 4d scan but haven't got round to booking yet

love I'm thinking of that fisher price woodland bouncer too, I had FP ones with my others and always found them really good

TipBoov · 01/10/2016 22:08

Ended up going into the hospital for monitoring, of course she perked up when the monitor was on, so everything is ok.

Ordered the big stuff I needed such as Moses basket and stand, crib and mattress, pram sheets, Moses basket sheets and crib sheets etc. I feel a bit more relaxed now, as at least she'll have somewhere to sleep!

Plan is to have the Moses basket in the living room for daytime naps, and the crib in our room for at night. We bought the same crib we had for DS (a gliding crib) which worked well, we just didn't keep hold of it because we didn't have much room in our old house!

My arm is still aching from the whooping cough jab Sad

Londonmamabychance · 01/10/2016 23:11

Mejse and Sue the scan pics are amazing!

Sorry for everyone struggling with spd sounds so tough, hope you can find some relief.

Re. Breastfeeding I just want to throw in a bit of optimism and say that it didn't hurt at all with DD, she just latched on a and it was v easy. I did have a problem with oversupply though and got mastitis because DD just couldn't drink all the milk. I woke up with soaked through pyjamas tops all the time and after 10 days got mastitis and THAT was bloody painful, but cleared up with antibiotics after a few days, and since then breastfeeding was one of the lovelies, easiest and most bonding experiences Smile but I do of course know lots of people who struggled so if any of you do, please don't ever worry too much or blame yourself! Just trying to say it's different for everyone and can be not so hard : )

Is anyone suffering badly with heartburn, I am, it kept me awake last night, never had it before and didn't have it in last pregnancy either. Can't take anything for it when pregnancy, like gaviscon, can you?

Kitch82 · 02/10/2016 02:16

london you can absolutely take gaviscon, I'm keeping them in business I think. Worth getting gaviscon advance liquid too rather than standard stuff. Get it prescribed by your GP so it's free.

Bigfam · 02/10/2016 07:08

Definitely take gaviscon london my heartburn was off the scale yesterday, I had to keep taking sips from the bottle. It's so exoensive though so get a prescription like kitch said.
Glad everything is ok tipboov

Azure83 · 02/10/2016 09:42

London yes to gaviscon, I don't leave the house without it!

The boy has hiccups, it's been going on all morning.. Do you think they find it as annoying and uncomfortable as we do? Sad

Nojo82 · 02/10/2016 11:36

Yep i take gavisgon and got a script. Its def not as bad since ive finished work..

So my 7yr old ended up in hospital last night. Thank God they didnt keep him, but we didnt leave til after 2am. Nebs, and steroids and he improved thankfully. Couldnt bear staying.

Bigfam · 02/10/2016 12:16

Oh no nojo I hope he's ok and recovers quickly.
I know azure hiccups are quite a weird sensation!

SunnySideDownUp · 02/10/2016 14:06

I can't stand Gaviscon, but I'm keeping rennies in business! You can get something stronger as well if you really need it.

Oh no nojo, is he a bit better this morning?

Lovewatchingrainfall · 02/10/2016 14:58

Oh no nojo hope he is okay.

When packing your hospital bag do you pack one for you and one for any. Last time I just packed mine because I knew my DD had a long stay in NICU and wouldn't need anything.
I was thinking about packing the changing bag (bargain off eBay) and putting that in my hospital bag. But I'm not sure what I need for baby. I did a Boots shop today and think I got everything I needed for mine and used my points which made me feel better. Please help me. Also do I need to take formula incase I can't BF?

Sorry for the endless list of questions.

Christmasbaby16 · 02/10/2016 15:40

Just discovered this thread... due 05/12/16. Feel left out I've only just discovered it!
Hope everyone is keeping well.
Just seen the above post 're hospital bag. Any suggestions on what to pack would be appreciated.Grin

Thisisbonkers · 02/10/2016 15:55

I think BonkersJunior has enough stuff to keep them going a week or two 😳 Still needs washing (I assume this is still the done thing?). When is too soon to do that?

(It's only put away in the drawers now because I've built them and I need to tidy the spare room for visitors!).
