I was on an old birds ttc and ante natal thread when I was pregnant with Ds. I'm pregnant again, aged 38, and wondered if there were any others interested in joining together on an older mums thread?

Not that I feel particular aged or anything, but some of the threads gets very busy and it's nice to have a smaller group.

Can I join please... I'm 38 and just found out I'm 5wks pregnant with #2. I'm a tad worried as I'm high risk due to ds being premature due to pre-eclampsia and obstetric cholostasis. Saw gp last week expecting to be reassured and come away more worried as he didn't listen to me and left it was I was being booked in with mw for them to decide if I'm high risk. I've already been told I'm high risk and would be consultant lead, I'd need an early scan and once deemed viable be out on aspirin by 7wks. Not impressed with gp so unless he phones today as promised with his act together I'll be seeing a different one, who listens! Rant over...And breath! Confused

Congratulations mumofthree Grin

Hi l will be 39 when I have my first - I'm currently 26 wks and had a terrible side effect when I went for the OGTT . I am constantly anxious and get paranoid I don't feel baby move - I have a anterior placenta (front) but surely I should feel something - what am I meant to look out for? I'm also really small and haven't put that much weight on since start of pregnancy and doc are doing growth scans very few weeks any reassurance is welcome ...

BellaD24 · 31/05/2017 19:18

Chuckading - I'm on aspirin since 14 weeks

Chuckading · 31/05/2017 20:17

Saw a different gp today and she was amazing, possibly helped by my bursting into tears as I told her how worried I was! Gotta love the hormones! She immediately phoned the consultant and asked whether she should put me on aspirin immediately, which they agreed yes, so I'm now already on the aspirin. She scheduled an early scan and has referred me to the midwife and consultant. Before I left she told me to make sure I see her every time now. I think it's safe to say I will be! Feel like a weights been lifted. Still nervous but feel so much better. Grin

Chuckading · 31/05/2017 20:23

Bella what's OGTT?
I'm quite petite and with my first people didn't notice I was pregnant until I was roughly 25weeks. The movements can feel like when you get a twitchy muscle. Or my ds favourite trick a bit later was to push a foot into my hip or ribs. If you're worried at all about movement maybe see your gp or midwife xx

BellaD24 · 31/05/2017 22:20

chuckading OGTT is the Glucose test!
I sometime get twitch in muscles 😜 But there are times when I haven't felt it all day so makes me paranoid

Chuckading · 01/06/2017 13:25

Ah ok thank you. Hope the test was ok.
Twitchy feeling could be baby! Grinbut honestly if you're ever worried just phone your midwife or see your gp that's what they're there for! 😁
I'm so paranoid this time. Constantly expecting blood every time I go to the loo. Every little pain i feel like I'm expecting to turn to cramps etc think I'll relax a bit after the scan,
So at least I know there's definitely something in there! Haha then I'll wait until 27wks to start panicking again as that's when I first had high bp last time! Confused it awful isn't it but I can't wait for the pregnancy to be over and to just be holding the baby at home

BellaD24 · 03/06/2017 11:02

chuckading how many weeks are you? Try not to worry about pains or twinges as its just body stretching and adapting to growing baby! At 24 weeks I got pelvic girdle pain and this is now subsiding took two weeks

BellaD24 · 03/06/2017 11:04

Btw my consultant is booking me in for daily CGT scans due to my not feeling baby move regularly at 27 weeks
