I was on an old birds ttc and ante natal thread when I was pregnant with Ds. I'm pregnant again, aged 38, and wondered if there were any others interested in joining together on an older mums thread?

Not that I feel particular aged or anything, but some of the threads gets very busy and it's nice to have a smaller group.

Hi all,

I'm 35 (going on 36 in March) - the man and I started trying at the start of the year. I've been convinced for forever and a day that it would take forever or getting pregnant wouldn't happen full stop just cause of my age.

We literally had sex twice around ovulation and I was three days late yesterday - I couldn't help myself - got a Clear Blue test - positive. Did another this morning -a bolder positive! Over the moon but want to reign myself in from getting too excited, if you know what I mean, tis early days....

I'm just a whole heap of random emotions and partly feeling like I know nothing about babies which is freaking me out haha....

Bluefrog26 · 10/02/2017 08:28

Hello is this thread still active? I'm 35 and 37week pregnant. Feel like a geriatric beached whale!

Russkispy · 10/02/2017 11:05

Welcome to newbies. And congratulations!
I'm 40 and 22 weeks pregnant. Babi is moving as we speak. And she's due in June.
Anyone from Kent on here? I'll be giving birth at Darent Valley hospital.

MumofthreeandBean · 14/02/2017 11:17

Happy Valentines Day 😍

flymo79 · 15/02/2017 02:48

Can I join? 10weeks with number two, due September, I'm 38 in June, dd is 2.5

MumofthreeandBean · 01/03/2017 16:10

Hi flymo

hopeful75 · 12/04/2017 12:31

Hi girls
Can I please join you here. Pregnant with dd2 20 weeks tomorrow and 42 years old. Ttc dd1( now 4) for 26 months and had given up hope for a second. So this pregnancy a big big surprise. Didn't let myself think about it until scan this week as we have had some miscarriages and can't believe we are lucky enough to be pregnant. It really is surreal to me. Looking forward to chats here!!

MumofthreeandBean · 23/04/2017 09:18

Congrats!!!

I'm now 35 weeks, get date for induction at 36.3 - twins to be born at 37 weeks!! Not long now eeek!

Cineraria · 23/04/2017 09:32

Hello, glad to see this thread again! I was in it back in late July but unfortunately that pregnancy didn't last long. I'm sixteen weeks pregnant again now so due in October, the week DS turns two. Hopefully he'll think a little brother or sister is a good birthday present. Nursery tell me he's quite fond of the baby dolls they play with sometimes there, although he occasionally puts them in the home corner's toy oven or down the sink instead of in their basket!

Wishing everyone well!

Russkispy · 24/04/2017 13:47

Hi ladies, welcome and congratulations!
Just got back from my 32 weeks scan. Babi is 4lb 10 now!! And we saw her clear and face to us and she's got my mouth, my lips!! Seen so clear!! One more scan to go at 36 weeks and on 1/06 I'll get my date for CS. Omg! It's all happening!! And still very unreal. Hospital and Babi's bag are ready, to make it even more real.

ALHCTPS · 02/05/2017 16:22

I'm 38 and 4 weeks gone (only took the test on Saturday just gone), which makes me due in early January, I believe. We've only been trying for two months, so it's a relief we've conceived earlier, as there are no guarantees. But I don't feel like an older mum. Been with my beloved for nine years and kept putting it off and putting it off. I even promised I'd come to the point by 35, but then other things got in the way and I kept coming up with excuses. I suppose both my mother and grandmother gave birth to their youngest children at 41, which made me think I still had plenty of time. That said, this is my first (of you don't count a termiation I had at 21). Several older cousins have conceived and carried to term much later too.

Anyway, I've been so emotional, stupid and clumsy that I'm glad I put if off so long. I feel possessed!

MumofthreeandBean · 07/05/2017 06:45

Congrats ALHCTPS

I'm being induced on weds! The twins will be here soon!!!

Mrschil1i · 07/05/2017 07:35

Hi all.

I'm 37 will be 38 when I have baby in early September, 22 weeks now and can't wait to meet him. We had been trying for 2 years and found out new years eve we were expecting, perfect start to 2017! I have a 15 year old daughter who finishes school in 5 weeks which makes me feel old. Only feels like yesterday I did my GCSEs.

Now the morning sickness is over I'm really enjoying my pregnancy.

ndo4000 · 07/05/2017 07:55

Just came across this thread & thought I would say hi.

I am 36 & just found out yesterday that I am expecting #3! I already have dd 10(nearly) & 7.

It's a bit of a surprise as we were sort of just seeing what might happen, but I guess if it is meant to be....

So far no major symptoms other than being v weepy about everything!!!

rabbitstail · 07/05/2017 08:16

Morning all, how exciting Mumofthree! Twins too...how far along are you? Did you plan for induction?

Mrschil1i, I know how to feel...my 16 yr old starts her GCSEs this week and I'm 43 and 5wks pg! I've not told he yet so I'd be interested to hear how yours took it when you told her?

ndo4000, congratulations on catching easily, I was only 2 months but took two years last time. How far along are you?

ndo4000 · 07/05/2017 08:52

Thanks rabbit! I only found out yesterday so I'm 4wk. Very early and trying to not get overly excited yet.

Have you told your 16 yr old?

rabbitstail · 07/05/2017 12:50

It's difficult not to get carried away and start looking at prams isn't it?! No I haven't told her yet and am hoping to wait until after the 12 wk scan as by then she will have finished her GCSEs. I'm sure the shock would tip her over the edge as she is stessed enough as it is!!

Mrschil1i · 07/05/2017 14:03

Rabbitstail we told her when we first found out as she knew we had been trying for some time. She was made up with the news I was a bit worried she would be embarrassed that her mum was pregnant at my age Grin but she is great and really looking forward to having a baby brother. That's a good idea to wait till after her exams.

rabbitstail · 07/05/2017 22:13

What a lovely reaction! I hope mine feels the same.....I'm hoping she doesn't feel as though she is being pushed to one side. Maybe I am over thinking it?!

MumofthreeandBean · 09/05/2017 08:24

My dd is also doing GCSE's- we should just be home with the twins as she starts them. Son is doing SATS this week too so busy times here.
My kids are 10,13 &15 and they all took the news of a baby very well, when we found out it was twins it did cause some upset about sharing rooms etc, they are all ok now. Dd is the most excited, she can't wait to cuddle babies! Middle son loves his sleep and hates the thought of babies crying but he's a softie and I know he will be a great big bro. Youngest is excited to be a big bro.

It's a planned induction because it's twins, they don't like them to go much past 37 weeks here, I'm not complaining as I am huge and very uncomfortable, babies are good sizes and I'm sure they will be fine!

Congrats to all the new ladies on the thread, hope to chat some more soon, my babies are coming tmw!!! 😬

rabbitstail · 09/05/2017 14:28

Do you know what your having MumofthreeandBean? How very exciting for you to know you will have them in your arms by this time tomorrow! X

MumofthreeandBean · 10/05/2017 13:45

Boy and girl - would of been nice to be cuddling my babies by now but they have delayed me going in due to too many high risk cases there already! Hopefully going in this afternoon now
