I was on an old birds ttc and ante natal thread when I was pregnant with Ds. I'm pregnant again, aged 38, and wondered if there were any others interested in joining together on an older mums thread?

Not that I feel particular aged or anything, but some of the threads gets very busy and it's nice to have a smaller group.

Hi Notta - I remember you from the buses! My EDD is 28 Jan. I love Tabitha, but gave the name to my cat so can't really name any future DD the same now!

FuzzyOwl · 16/07/2016 20:25

Welcome newbies.

Thanks for the stats list and my EDD is 2 November.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. It is really hot this evening but, apart from some bump pain, all is well here.

Sparrowlegs248 · 16/07/2016 21:07

HI Yorkie and welcome. I will update the stats tomorrow when I feel more human.

Tabitha, it's a lovely name, one of my school friends is called tabitha and I was always a bit envious. I can't say the name of my girl cat, it would out me in a second! I dont think anyone in the world will have a cat with the same name!

So so tired. Was putting ds to bed 6.45, thinking 'thank God, I'll get to sit down' he wasn't really going to sleep so I laid on the bed with him. I just woke up! Had some cereal and back to bed. Missed my friends wedding reception too.

Ooh hello yorkie, fancy seeing you here! Huge congratulations - I had no idea you were expecting again - fantastic news!
Welcome and congratulations to everyone else too.
Thanks for the stats Notta. My EDD is 28th Dec.

Is anyone else finding being pregnant in this heat horrible? I just feel like a sweaty mess and already big and uncomfortable.

Dutchcourage · 19/07/2016 22:30

Hello all, I'm 37 and 25 weeks with my third - and never again! Hope you are all well!

I feel so tired and old this time. This heat is shocking and I'm so sweaty Sad

Sparrowlegs248 · 20/07/2016 07:18

Morning all, I don't envy those of you who are further along in this heat. This time last year i was a few days off giving birth, and there had been a similar heatwave during which I was up and down to the hospital with high blood pressure. The assessment unit was sweltering.

In other news, ds woke ONCE last night. I fed him back to sleep and put him back in the cot and he didn't wake again til 5!!!

Ugh. Bloody boiling sweaty day. And just found the maggoty remains of a mouse under the two seater in the dining room. Just the thing to settle my sickness. Luckily the floor is quarry tiles. Boak.

Hi all!!! Can I join this thread? I'm 38 and had a BFP last Monday with DD2. DD1 is 22 months old so I was a "geriatric" pregnancy with her too!!

Backhometothenorth · 21/07/2016 16:08

Hi everyone! Really pleased to find this thread- can I join in please?
I'm 43 and due September 5th - not long to go till I meet number 2 daughter! My other little girl is 4 so will be starting school at a very convenient time Grin

Inshock73 · 22/07/2016 09:22

Morning all and Congrats to all the new joiners :)

I'm 30 weeks now and the heat is killing me! Well I think it's a combination of the heat and my 14 month old DD who has taken to sleeping from 11pm-4.30am :( and I'm still working full time so I am well and truly knackered! I'm bigger this time too so already feel like I'm lugging around a beach ball.

I've had an interesting couple of weeks since I last pooped on here. I wasn't feeling myself (only way I can describe it) and had a pressure on my chest so popped in to GP just to make sure all was ok and was sent to A&E with a suspected blood clot. That was followed by 2 days at hospital, lots of tests, before they concluded it was simply exhaustion. I've been advised to start maternity leave asap but I can't for both financial and practical (work related) reasons. I was half hoping they'd tell me I needed to stay in hospital for a few days, I was already visualising reading those books I bought 18 months ago (which I haven't started!) before I had DD and I thought maternity leave was going to be a holiday with lots of time on my hands :)

Inshock73 · 22/07/2016 09:23

Meant to say popped on here not pooped :)

IslandLife · 22/07/2016 12:46

Hi everyone, I'm 36 and almost 20 weeks with my 1st... just had my scan this morning and it's a girl! DP already has 3 girls, so if I'm being completely honest I would've liked to have given him a boy, although secretly I've always wanted a girl. I had convinced myself it was a boy, so I was mentally prepared for a boy, name chosen etc... So now I'm feeling either deflated or relieved, not sure which! Bloody hormones. Anyway, all that aside, I've waited a long time for this little one so I am just happy that it's really happening!! Smile

Inshock - That must have been scary! Blood clots are my biggest worry ever since the midwife told me that now I'm pregnant, my blood is like strawberry jam...makes me go all funny and a bit sick thinking about it, like when someone squeaks polystyrene!!

user1467983757 · 22/07/2016 15:41

Waves! Hello all. May I join in. I'm 39 had shock of our lives with this positive preg result we have a 16 yo and we did not think that hubby could have kids anymore (due to treatment in past) so shocked is understatement. Anyway! 9 weeks along here.

FuzzyOwl · 22/07/2016 22:56

Hello and welcome newbies.

How worrying InShock and glad it's nothing more serious. Can you get signed off for the next six weeks?

Girls are absolutely great Island. Wink

I am so glad it is a little cooler but really struggling with how uncomfortable I am all the time with this pregnancy. I just want the baby to arrive as early as is safe for her to do so now.

Cineraria · 25/07/2016 09:25

Hello, I'm really pleased to find another older mums thread. I was on the Old Birds one last year, so it's nice to see familiar faces from that one too.

I'm 41, so I know I'm definitely in the old category as far as all the paperwork goes this time. Last time, I went for my initial appointment with the GP a few days before my 40th birthday so had 39 on my paperwork and it took a while for anyone to realise that I had suddenly become incredibly ancient!

I've calculated my due date by ovulation as my cycles are a bit irregular due to DS still breastfeeding a lot and it is the first of April, which is exactly eighteen months to the day after DS's original due date. I'm feeling very lucky as I know breastfeeding can really affect fertility and we hoped for a smallish gap between children.

I can just imagine calling people to let them know the baby has arrived and not being believed if it does turn up on April Fool's Day.

Wishing everyone happy and healthy pregnancies!

2nds · 25/07/2016 09:36

Hi guys I'm just place marking as my period is now late and even though I got sterilised after # 2 I am now experiencing similar symptoms to what I had in early pregnancy with # 1.
Anyway congratulations on all your pregnancies :-)

2nds · 25/07/2016 09:37

Btw I'm 38

IslandLife · 25/07/2016 09:38

Congratulations Cineraria! Good luck with your pregnancy. I'm due Dec 12th with my 1st and I'll be 37....already trying to convince DP that we should have more! Grin

drinkyourmilk · 26/07/2016 07:18

Hello.
I'm 39, will be 40 when my baby is born. It's extremely early days - not due until April 3rd, but it's a much wanted ivf baby and I can't keep quiet about it!

Cineraria · 26/07/2016 09:29

Thanks, Island. It sounds like your pregnancy must be going well if you're already wanting more. You must be so excited to meet your baby. I remember how slowly time went during my first pregnancy but now I've had DS time seems to be rushing by.

Congratulations, drink! It's so nice to hear of successes when people haven't had an easy path to conception. No wonder you want to talk about it.

Have you done a test 2nds?

I'm probably being silly but I think my hormones are affecting DS via my milk. He has been really grumpy and keeps waking up early but still tired and nodding off unexpectedly during the day, which happens to me too when I'm pregnant

IslandLife · 26/07/2016 13:10

Congratulations drink!! Good luck with the pregnancy Flowers

Sparrowlegs248 · 28/07/2016 21:23

Evening all, welcome and congratulations to the new bfps! I had my booking in appointment with the midwife today, she was very nice. I'm at a different surgery to last time. She had a feel at my tummy and thinks I'm less than 12 weeks but has requested a scan sooner rather than later to be on the safe side.

Still shattered, still nauseous. Hope everyone else is doing well.
