Guess all of us who are left are feeling a bit like this now!

trixymalixy · 23/01/2007 09:37

Sorry!!!!!!

Just keep reminding yourself of that list of positives of being pregnant!

Have just realised how extremely unorganised I am, when I thought I was all prepared. My bag has been packed since Xmas but gradually things seem to have drifted out of it. Wil have to go through it and check my list.

Plus I have no idea where the fecking camera charger is!

2Happy · 23/01/2007 09:40

Yeah, thing is I need this baby to come out in the next couple of days, otherwise I'll miss out on my haggis!!

OP posts:
trixymalixy · 23/01/2007 09:43

Are you Scottish 2happy? I'm in Glasgow.

My poor cousin was born on Burns night and gets really sick of eating haggis on her birthday practically every year!!

2Happy · 23/01/2007 09:49

Yes, although I live in England I'm just a couple of miles from the Border and grew up in the Borders and still work there (when I'm not on mat leave ). Which bit of Glasgow are you in? I want chip shop fried haggis and chips now.

theUrbanDryad · 23/01/2007 09:56

GOOD LUCK trixy!!!

Bluey if you're lurking at all, I posted on your other thread - please start a new thread about this, it sounds just horrific and there are so many MNers who can help xxx

OP posts:
trixymalixy · 23/01/2007 10:17

Thanks UD!!

I live on the South Side of Glasgow.

Would be nice to have haggis without heartburn, haven't been able to eat it since I've been pregnant!!

annieapple7 · 23/01/2007 16:30

Good luck Trixy....I have been told I will have my baby either tonight or tomorrow! eek!

My waters broke (more of a trickle than a gush) last night and I have been having period type pains since then. This is exactly what happened with DS2.

So if I don't go into labour by tomorrow morning I will have to go in to hospital and be induced because of the risk of infection, which I was hoping to avoid, having hoped for a home birth.

If so, I will be asking for an epidural from the moment I get on the ward.

So I have been for a 2 hour walk this afternoon, and plan a hot curry tonight with pineapple for dessert and perhaps a bit of nipple stimulation from DH as evening entertainment.
Any other suggestions??

Sending labour vibes to you all!

2Happy · 23/01/2007 16:56

Don't have any other suggestions, anniapple, but good luck hope it goes ok.
Trixy - how's it gone today? Any news??
Went for a long walk this morning, my back is now agony but no contractions .

Lizzzombie · 23/01/2007 17:53

Hi Everyone! After having strong contractions for 2 days baby Dylan Jack Peter Thompson arrived weighing in at 8.5lbs at 19.40 on Saturday 20th January. Phew. Very glad he is out...but wish he wanted to sleep as much as me! More details will follow when I am able to sit down at the computer more comfortably! x

trixymalixy · 23/01/2007 18:05

Have been having random contractions all day, sometime 10 mins between them and sometimes half an hour or more. They haven't been too painful yet, although the last one did make me catch my breath.

Have been keeping busy, made a huge pot of chilli and a huge pot of stew to go in the freezer and cleaned practically the whole house. Still haven't found the fecking camera charger though!!

Then went to try and sleep for a couple of hours.

Good luck annie, I hope you manage to avoid induction!!

Congrats Lizz, was wondering what had happened to you!! Hope I don't have 2 days of contractions!!

Sending you labour vibes 2happy!!

2Happy · 23/01/2007 19:41

Congratulations Lizzz, was wondering when we'd hear! Like the name
Trixy - maybe it'll all kick in tonight, they like being born in the wee hours apparently. If not, though, I hope you manage some rest.
NotanOtter, thanks for the message

Oh no Podmog - that sounds awful - I would have wanted to stamp my feet and refuse to leave....

trixymalixy · 23/01/2007 22:26

podmog, would have been p**ed off as well!!

My contractions are about every 10 mins now, so praying that doesn't happen to me!!

DH is in a total panic, LOL!! He's had a workmate round tonight doing a handover and was talking about a meeting tomorrow and I said that i doubted he'd be there because I thought the baby would be arriving either tonight or tomorrow.

His workmate left about 9.30 and I told him my contractions were about 10 mins apart and he just looked at me with shock and said he thought I was joking when I said I was having contractions!!

he's now flapping round the place doing all the little jobs I'd been asking him to do for ages!!

freedomfighter · 23/01/2007 22:54

poppynic - see from list you were due same day as me, so im pleased that you're still around IYKWIM - when are they thinking of inducing you? I've read on sweep thread that you've had a sweep - mine didn't do anything

podmog - god thats well annoying - why does body do that? get you all psyched up just to play head games with you and stop contractions - not fair

Its been snowing here so I wondered if sod's law means I might start tonight but then think I've just seen a pig flying as fast as its trotters will let it

becks5109 · 24/01/2007 08:18

Podmog hope you're not ready this and that you now have a bubba in your arms. Perhaps I can trick hubby and tell him i'm in labour so that he'll get all the jobs i've asked him to do that aren't done yet!!! He still hasn't got the car seat down from the loft! Had a sweep yesterday afternoon but absolutely nothing yet - am going to force DH to have sex with me at some point today - bless him! Lots of baby out vibes to everyone else too!

2Happy · 24/01/2007 08:40

Podmog, sympathies from here too, how gutting!
Trixy - hope dh got all his jobs done and you had the baby
Becks - IKWYM - dh gone off to work today, so I guess I'll be the one finishing decorating the spare room
The snow's melted here now, so not even that to try and tempt this baby out!

Hi Freedomfighter - yes I do kwym . I'm being induced on Friday.

2Happy · 24/01/2007 14:21

Had some fantastic news today... dsis had a problem with her 20w scan, they said the bowel had perforated and the baby may not make it, and even if it did it would need major surgery when born and may be desperately unwell etc. She had another scan today, now 28w, and they said it looks like the perforation has healed with only a bit of scarring left in the tummy, the baby looks otherwise totally healthy and there's no reason the rest of the pg should be anything other than straightforward!
I don't think any of us dared hope for such a good outcome, it's just the best news. Since all 3 of us sisters are pg at once, it would have been so hard on her seeing us popping babies (eventually...!) and wondering if she'd even get that far. So, so happy for them
