Still here - still no baby!
Day 274 in the big mother womb...liz goes to the diary room (read in Geordie accent!)

Actually got quite excited last night as was having very mild but very regular twinges. Cant believe they were proper contractions, but they were def not Branston Pickles. Had them for about 5 hours. Then they stopped.
Back on the raspberry tea today. Nearly finished the packet.
Congratulations to the new arrivals, not sure if I can bear to read LTHs account. Thanks for the labour vibes - please keep on sending them, I want him to arrive before my induction tomorrow! x

Of course I read LTH's birth story, I am addicted to reading them and becoming more terrified by the day.

My dream last night must sum up my feelings.

I was stuck on top of a high diving board. (I do not dive). I didn't want to dive. And the ladder back down looked almost as scary. I couldn't remember how I got up there in the first place (ha!)

I finally scrambled back down the ladder to safety.

Phew.

Feeling sympathy Lizz - I still have 10 days to go and baby is pressing on my bum which is not a good sensation.

Hi everyone and congrats to all who have popped, lauren mackenzie arrived on the 14/1/07 at 5:21 pm and weighed 6lb 15oz I was induced due to pre eclampsia and she popped out 2hrs 45 min later a bit different to her brother who took 26 hrs, she is amazing and I feel very blessed.

Morning all

William finally made an entrance at 6.44am sunday morning weighing 9lb 6oz. Labour was hard but epidural helped, hewas also OP and got stuck, was pushing for three hours until had consultant put both hands up me, rotated him and then use a metal ventous to get him out, all this was done on the operating theatre as thought would be a section. Had an episiotomy and unfotunately had a tear as well. All over with now and could not have done it without dh who was fab even when I vomited all over myself and the theatre staff - nice. Had to stay in a few days as could not pee as bits soooooo swollen and some damage to my bladder (nerves a bit stretched).

on the poo front have not managed it yet either as feels everything will fall out but dh off to get me some suppositories and glugging down the lactulose - i have ben taking strong pain killers for vagina which has bunged me up well and truely.

William is lovely but feeding all the time so nipples look like rasberries

Well done to all those others who have popped and thinking dilating thoughts for those who have not.

Thanks! I am holding out for a Hattie birth not a Loubie one so I am accepting all positive birth story vibes! Have been guzzling raspberry tea all day today and feel a bit sick now. Its very sharp isnt it.
Also (I know this sounds daft) but I have been playing "Come Baby Come" by K7 all day on repeat! Am hoping he will get the message before 6pm tomorrow evening! x

well im overdue n it sucks! was due on the 14th but still have had no signs of my little one arriving! getting so fed up now! if he hasnt made an appearance by friday ive got a midwife appointment for a membrane sweep...sounds nice?? congrats to everyone who have had their bundles of joy n goodluck to everyone else who is still waiting to pop! xx

oh oh oh! This is exciting...I dont want to speak to soon, but I think my contractions have started. About 10-15 mins apart and only last 30-60 seconds at the moment, but I have been having them for the last couple of hours. Fingers crossed that they carry on & I can change the appointment for sweep and induction into giving birth!

Hi, am planning on giving birth in Brighton hospital, just really hoping it all continues naturally. Really excited now! Think it could have been brought on by the 3 cups of raspberry tea I gulped down yesterday (ugh!)...or it could just be that the baby is finally cooked and ready to come out! x (41+4 today!)

Just to let you know that Thea Katharine was born on 13 January - a healthy 7lb 6oz - although a slightly nightmare induction/ventouse delivery ... Sadly has been quite ill with jaundice and feeding is all up the spout, but it's good to be home - all 3 of us

I am off to my consultant appointment now...currently 40+6 weeks and I feel sick with nerves, I want it all to happen, and if I need a sweep I will have one, but the thought of it all is freaking me out!! I wish that it would all just happen naturally so I don't get myself so worked up! I am so envious of all of you who have already given birth...and am sending the strongest labour vibes and thoughts to those of you who are overdue..x.x. Wish me luck..

Famous last words I know - but this labour thing is a piece of cake so far! Getting a bit boring now. Still 15 mins apart and only lasting for a minute. Can't recommend TENS machine enough though. I seem to be very calm about this whole thing. Think I maybe surpressing my feelings of absolute terror!

Tell you what, though, if you get a sweep and then go into labour, then I'm blooming demanding one! Otherwise at this rate I will have to join the due in Feb thread!!

am still waiting too (ZoenBump was due 14th too!) . went to hospital today and ive delayed stretch and sweep till monday, which hospital were happy to do cos they said I wasn't far enough overdue for a weep (i always picture a vet putting his whole arm up a cow's bum when I think of the stretch and sweep but I'm sure its not like that really ...more scarey is that hospital booked my induction date - friday 26th so just praying that something happens before that as i go off now to have some more pineapple juice!
