Good Morning ladies
I am still trying to catch up with last weeks thread so thought I would cheat and start this weeks instead.
Hope you are all well. I am now going back to last week to try to catch up.

Okay Billynomates here

Have nearly caught up with last weeks so will post replies on here later, expecting MW any minute to check me over after yestaerdays amnio, feeling absolutely fine in that respect just wish you didn't use your stomach when you sneeze/cough. Trying not to spread horrible cold germs to you all so am sitting well away from monitor - actually can't get very close due to large protruding belly

Anyone want to join me this week? Can you tell I am not at work today so can play on computer at home.

Have tried to manuovre (sp) over here. We'll see how long we're alone

Charleymouse - glad the amnio went ok.

Nothing new to report. Busy at work and getting lardier by the day. Hope I start looking actually pregnant soon, instead of just porky!

Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 19/12/2006 11:55

Have only skimmed the thread days I've missed, otherwise I'd have no time to post:

Jelly - hope you're feeling a bit better. Have you made a decision about the amnio. Think it's a tough one for you either way. Fingers crossed for you hun.

Scooterthesleighmum - where have you been and where is your christmas name!!! How was the Wolsely?? I do so loooovvee the odd bit of decadence. La Gavroche on Thurs was exactly that and absolutely FAB. We had this fabulously expensive bottle of wine and I decided to put my no wine rule to one side for the night. No way I was missing out on that! I only had about 1/4 of a glass, but it was very yummy.

MerryNoel - Safely back in la campagne (sp?)

I assume there are no, ahem, KK's left to pass around LVB&T

How is everyone else bearing up?

Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 19/12/2006 11:56

Just to add on the Bugaboo discussion. A friend told me they were crap for buses in London (only form of transport for us once I go on maternity leave). Any differing opinions??

TwinkleTwinkleLupinsXmasLights · 19/12/2006 12:02

Hi

Anyone know what the micralites are like? I have a quinny speedi sx, its great for walking to the village and around the pk, but useless for bus, like juicylucy only other transport i have when dp at work, quite fancy the micrlite but not sure how long it will be suitable until

Glad amnio went well

Its sooooo cold out there tday, i am being invaded with friends and children to swop pressies so have been getting food ready this morning, popped on here quickly b4 anyone arrives - ahhhh sanity

StarlightStarbrightSKYTVtonite · 19/12/2006 12:07

Hi all

Glad it went ok yesterday charleymouse. Fingers crossed for a good outcome.

I didn't catch up on last weeks thread. Had two days when I didn't look (one was my birthday) and don't feel I could ever catch up so sorry to anyone whose news I have missed.

Jelly - I did read about your restults. I went through similar to you - 1 in 150 risk of downs about 3 weeks ago - and we decided not to go for the amnio (I am 39). You will get lots of support on here whatever you do. The consultant asked which would be the worst case scenario for us (a) losing the baby or (b) having a baby with DS. We said losing the baby so our decision was based on that.

Haven't done TPT as have cheap toilet paper from spa, will do when back to Andrex!

scootermum · 19/12/2006 14:05

Hi all,
Wolsely is this afternoon, have been whiling away time at work by eating crisps and chatting to the cutomers-school kids have come to sing carols to them now so cant be on long.
Suffice to say am excited at prospect of finger sandwiches and champagne and have worn a dress specially, despite the fact that its freezing and my ankles will be cold on the bus..

Have had time to change name yet-also need to work out how to do it..will try hardest, promise..

Glad your amnio went ok charley
x

Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 19/12/2006 14:11

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 19/12/2006 14:54

Good morning to everyone!! I am having my new countertops installed today, and am soo psyched. I had a dream about giving birth last night and it was wonderful. Then I dreamt that I was in H&M buying clothes. I was sad to wake up.

lg&t YOU BETTER RUN TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR SCAN!

MistletoeandPebblemum · 19/12/2006 15:08

Afternoon ladies

sadly it was MereNoel that LVB&T was meeting today, i have been stuck with dh and the kids for company

For all my moaning about mini pebble not kicking i got my first one today I was just sat perched on the arm of sofa talking to ds2 when i felt something and when i looked i even saw my tummy move slighly, it was great. Didnt last more than a second but at least i can now join you others who are getting kicked

Hope the scan went well for LVB&T and cant wait to hear the flavour, my fingers are crossed she gets the pink one she wanted.

And i know there is someone else having a scan today but cant remember who it was (my brain isnt working and im too lazy to read back on last weeks thread Whoever you are i hope it all went well and if you know the flavour, dont keep us in suspense (unless you want to of course).

Its all happening now isnt it, its hard to imagine that 2months ago we were moaning at how the pregnancies were dragging and yet here we are on the verge of having our 20wk scans. Now instead of moaning about MS we can now start moaning that our clothes dont fit

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 19/12/2006 15:14

I know I posted this months ago, but I figure now that we're half way there we need to be reminded of why May is a great months to have a baby.

10 Reasons why I look forward to a May baby.

  1. It will be warm enough to wear sandals so there will be no shoe laces to tie.
  1. It will be cool enough that I don't have to wear shorts and tank and have nasty pregnant self exposed to the world.
  1. It will be sunny which will encourage a speedy recovery to get out and enjoy the day (I pity those January moms stuck inside. Let's face it it's nice to throw the kid in a stroller and go, even if it is just for 30 minutes.
  1. Don't have to worry about baby being born during cold and flu season. (Again, those poor January moms)
  1. There is a possiblity (however small) of being back into this years fall clothes for next fall. Wouldn't that be nice!
  1. The days are longer. So even though we may be very sad with crazy hormones at least we have more sunlight to look at (Again, those January moms, imagine sad and dark outside)
  1. There are no major holidays to prepare for, and by the time there are our children will hopefully be sleeping through the night so we will be rested and ready for anything (Poor December moms)
  1. We get to hide our "don't look pregnant yet but am not fat" bodies under big sweatshirts and sweaters because it will be cold most of our pregnancy
  1. We won't be too swollen from the terrible heat (Those poor August moms, I was one once, I know)
  1. Our babies are either going to be Taurus or Gemini. I don't know about taurus, but I'm a Gemini and I'm pretty cool
lildrummerKel · 19/12/2006 15:57

Oh MKG, that's wonderful. Exactly what a headachey mum and pg woman needs to hear on a dark & dreary Tuesday!!!

Shall we lynch LVB&T now for being so tardy, or shall we wait till she's asleep & unsuspecting?? Hope you get the pink one, too!!!

That's all for me. Going to pub to meet the girls tonight, haven't been out in AGES due to poorly DS and last-minute Christmas panics over cookies, toys for various LOs we're seeing at the weekend, etc. I'm going to have a pint of Guinness and enjoy every drop!!!

MistletoeandPebblemum · 19/12/2006 16:07

MKG im a taurus and im great, a bit stubborn mind you but at least i know when im in the right (which is always

Ds1 was born in May (obviously as my due date is his birthday duh) and i loved it. I didnt have to put him in 10 layers of clothing just to go to the shops and he was able to get plenty of fresh air without the risk of catching a cold. DS2 was born in at the end of September and it was horrible, you couldnt show him off properly as he was always covered in layer upon payer of blankets and a raincover and i hated the thought of taking him out too much in the cold/wet. Im really looking forward to taking this litle one out in the pram, going for walks in the evening sitting in the pub garden while the older ones play on the swings, trying to squeeze all my new fatty rolls into a bikini (ok so thats npt a bonus but the other things are)

largevirginbirthandtonic · 19/12/2006 16:12

Im baaaaack.....! Do ya wannan know?

It was soooo nice to meet up with MereNoel, i met her dh and dc, they were very cute (the dc that is, well and dh) Mine all swarmed over the park and hers were very well behaved. Mere is very pretty and i love her hair...

Oh the scan.....i forgot for a sec....

Its a boy!!!! Im very pleased, dd may be packing her bags and leaving. I have not been brave enough to tell her yet. Wish me luck, i am sooooo going to need it.

How are you all?

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 19/12/2006 16:19

Yeah!! A boy!!! Is you dh happy?

I feel for you dd. Just tell her when she's older she'll have lots of boyfriends because having 4 brothers means access to lots of boys.

Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 19/12/2006 16:20

LVB&T - Glad it went well and you're happy with everything. Wish you lots of luck with telling your DD

MKG - Great reasons for May babies
I'm a Gemini too and I think it rocks being one!!

Sorry I got it wrong pebblemum, I'm a numpty

MistletoeandPebblemum · 19/12/2006 16:37

About time LVB&T

The way you wrote your posts makes it sound as thought you are very pleased dd will be packing her bags instead of you being pleased its a boy

Congrats LVB&T on the scan

largevirginbirthandtonic · 19/12/2006 16:58

Did it sound like that????

We have just told her her....it's not going well......

partridgeannemepeartree · 19/12/2006 17:00

Wow - all this talk of flavours is making me think that we should find out...we will be arguing about this on the way to the scan in Jan!!!!
PS Pebble - I am still being paranoid about whether I am REALLY feeling LO because I am still in flutter stage. When I had extra scan last week they said LO was lying right at the back which is why I am not getting lots of prods (also too much flab methinks) And yes, it is silly to be so paranoid with so many scans but, hey, that's hormones! Glad you saw something!

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 19/12/2006 17:05

Thought we could keep a list of the flavors and scan dates. Just cut and paste add your date and/or flavor.

20 week scans

pebblemum-2/01-hoping for a girl--due May 23

wewishyouamerrychristmouse · 19/12/2006 17:36

Okay guess who had an early visit from Santa?

At 3:52 Lindsay rang from QMC and said BOTH babies normal! Obviously still got exomphalos to deal with and 20 week scan due to possible heart problems but am currently floating on cloud 9 and wanting to shout it from the rooftops.

Oh my goodness it looks as if I will definitely have twins now! Help! I am now just so pleased they are healthy I don't care how much hard work it might seem and how much it might cost I am just grateful I have two healthy babies.
