So sorry for your little baby sunnysam, i hope you and you dh are talking things through today. It must be so hard for you having to keep up a brave face for the boys. I cant give you any personal experience help only that ive seen. I looked after a lady once who had to go through labour with her stillborn baby, she coped amazingly. They held their baby and took photos. Im in tears thinking about you. Sending you so much love and lots of hugs xxxxx

Pinkjenny congrats on your brill news, you must be very relieved.

How is everyone going with xmas organisation? We are pretty much there, the kids are so excited. The house is jumping with all of them running round!

DD has finally clamed down about the boy issue......she was not impressed! I am still smiling though

jellybeans · 21/12/2006 17:41

Sunny, I am so very very sorry for your loss. I posted before but think it didn't work. I have 2 angels, 23 weeks and 11 weeks and DD is buried at the communal baby cemetry but we have a special plaque and vase. I found it horrendous and send you lots of (((((((hugs)))))))
xxxxxxxxxx

jellybeans · 21/12/2006 17:47

I have got my 2nd quad screen test results back and combined with the nuchal/soft marker scan my new risk is 1 in 600 for chromosome disorders/Downs. Still higher than my age (should be 1 in 1200 or something) but better than 1:110 which is what it was (although I was a day off 15 weeks and also they had wrong weight down).

We have decided that if the 20 wk scan is OK then not to have anymore tests. We would probably not TOP for DS anyway so not worth risking the pregnancy. So I am not thinking about it anymore.GRRRRRRRR I sometimes wish I never had the darn test! This is DEFINATELY my last pregnancy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone is OK.

Ok

I am 18 weeks today and am feeling quite good. We went to my moms house and celebrated Christmas yesterday, because she is going to my sister's house for Christmas. We brought back our presents to open of Christmas day, and I love seeing the presents under the tree.

I haven't heard back about my blood tests, so I guess everything is good. My ob office goes by the "no news is good news" philosophy. 2 weeks and 6 days until my scan. I've spent all day online doing gender predictions and they all say girl. We'll see soon enough.

MereNoel · 21/12/2006 21:36

Hi All,

Home safe and well, had a very hectic trip not a holiday by any means!!! Nice to see family and friends; Had a good time meeting lg&t, her children were very well behaved, they were only all over the park because there are 5 of them!!!! She is not lying when she says she has a bump!!!! I am very jealous she has a beautiful neat baby bump and I have ziltch (don't think she believes I'm pg)

Sunny I'm so sorry to hear your sad news; Will be thinking of you!

CM, Yey Yey And YEY YEY............... do you get what I mean?

I haven't read the whole thread as I don't have a week spare but, I 'm sorry if I've missed any other congrats or woes that I would have comented on.

There's NO place like home!!

LetitShnowLetitShnowLetitShnow · 21/12/2006 21:38

Woo hoo! Christmas is days away and MereNoel is back. All is right with the world.

You can share my bump if you want, it's officially gained epic status this week.

MereNoel · 21/12/2006 21:42

Hey; thanks!!

is it me or has someone been messing with the sight of this page since I've been gone?
It all looks a bit odd to me.

LetitShnowLetitShnowLetitShnow · 21/12/2006 21:56

Oh for a while it was terrible.

Had a huge overhaul, everybody complained and they put it back to almost normal.

Glad you had a good time in Blighty, but glad you're back too. Now tell us exciting things about what Christmas in France will be like...

JonahB · 21/12/2006 21:57

Intheseshoes, I?ve been living in Sale since I was a teenager, moved away briefly, then came back again. So, I guess that?s a yes to both your questions.
My mind is now furtively working overtime, if you see a small woman with a big bump, dragging a petulant toddler behind her, peering at you across Sainsbury?s, ?tis I . Which hospital have you opted for?

MistletoeandPebblemum · 21/12/2006 22:36

Welcome back MereNoel

Sunnysam, sorry to hear your news. I know nothing i say will help but I just wanted to let you know i am thinking of you.

I have spent the whole day having a major clean and it was great. DS2 was being really good, Ds1 was out with his friends and i pranced my way through the housework singing christmas songs, if anyone had seen me they would have thought id been at the Brandy. I had thought about doing a bit more shopping but it was sooo freezing i chickened out and stayed indoors all day, except for the odd trip over to my neighbour's. She moved out today

I cant believe its nearly christmas, but it seems to be dragging a bit now. Ive still got 2 stocking fillers to get, ds1 has decided he wants a High School Musical DvD and dh wants a stupid little glass golf ball with whiskey in it so once ive got them and another small selection pack so ds's get one each in their stockings, im all done

Now i have to try and download all my camcorder recordings onto this stupid computer so i have enough dvds to record all the fun. It was so much easier when i had a normal camcorder but no Dh wanted to get me a new one for my birthday and he chose one so high tec i still dont know everything it does Im normally great with things like this but not this time which is why i have 5 dvd mini discs full of recordings, i just cant seem to download it all. Its no good asking Dh either as im always the one who has to teach him how to use things. Oh well i will get there in the end, if not Dh will have to buy me some discs If i dont get back on here tomorrow at some point you know ive thrown the computer and camcorder out of the window lol

twelvedaysofchristmas · 22/12/2006 00:22

Fingers crossed for you Kel. Took DD to London City this afternoon as she was to spend Christmas with her dad. We sat there as they kept changing how long it was delayed whilst other flights were cancelled. Eventually every flight but hers was saying cancelled but inevitably we reached the end of the road as well. Poor thing, she was crying at the desk when they rebooked us as they can't get her out earlier than the 26th.

More hopeful for you as there's more chance of the weather clearing by Saturday. I really hope it does.

She was with Air France to Dublin and some people were getting the Eurostar to Paris and flying from there. (Obv no good for an unaccompanied child.)

Anyway, hopefully it won't come to that with you, but there are "options"...

As least I have my little one with me for Christmas, but I was gutted for her as well.

TwinkleTwinkleLupinsXmasLights · 22/12/2006 01:41

SunnySam - Huge Vibes and hugs for today, will be thinking of you, hope everything goes as well as possible, be strong

SnowyMeadow · 22/12/2006 07:19

SunnySam - thinking of you today xx

JonahB · 22/12/2006 08:16

SunnySam, doubt you're reading this today, but I was thinking about you last night and wanted to come on here 1st thing to tell you my thoughts are with you and your family today....Lots of virtual hugs to you....xxxxx

MereNoel · 22/12/2006 08:25

thinking of you today sunny.

Sorry letitshnow, I was so tired I had to get to bed, feel better this morning though; France will be much the same as England to be honest. We tend to stick to a traditional Christmas, turkey and trimmings etc.... Big social circle here though (mostly oldies, but they spoil the kids) so lots visiting for drinks and nibbles. Have decided I am going to have the odd glass of wine over Christmas this year I'm sure the occasional one won't hurt?

Off to the midwife this morning, hoping I'll still get away without an internal as I haven't had my scan yet to see if the placenta has moved. Have tights on too, so don't fancy struggling with them; hehe makes me giggle thinking of it she'd piss her pants at me trying to pull them up over my lardy thighs and arse!

Have a good day all, catch you later.

lildrummerKel · 22/12/2006 08:41

Morning all - wishing you all a Merry Christmas - am desperately hoping I'll be offline for the next 10 days as we're supposed to fly to Germany tomorrow (Sat). The stress of checking ba.com every 5 minutes is sorta killing my holiday buzz

12Doc thanks so much for the words of comfort. Your poor wee girl, she must be so heartbroken. I guess I should be happy DS won't have a clue what's going on if we get cxld. His MIL will be crushed though - and so will I!! I'm so longing for the opportunity to take naps all day while others tend to my boy!!! Selfish, I know

Wondering how many tiny clear ziplock bags of 100-ml liquids I can squeeze in my carryon. A pg woman needs her food, ya know -

Sunny - when you finally read this I hope you are over the worst. I lay awake thinking about you last night and worrying for you. (((BIG HUGS)))

lildrummerKel · 22/12/2006 08:42

also, does creme-filled KK count as "liquid"? the security rules aren't clear on this....

Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 22/12/2006 10:13

Just wanted to wish you all a fab christmas.

I'll probably be off line for a few days trying to make the most of it. DH is in the middle of the north sea and my family is still in mourning for my nephew, so not going to be the happiest christmas ever.

Sunnysam - thinking of you. Hope it's not all too horrible today and you can enjoy christmas with your boys to some extent. xx

I'm off to the office party. Whoopee [sarcastic]. Watching everyone get w*nkered. My idea of heaven. Oh well - at least I can slink off early.

Have a good one.

LetitShnowLetitShnowLetitShnow · 22/12/2006 10:54

Morning all, especially sunnysam who is in my thoughts today.

Today is the first of my 11 days off for Christmas and unlike most of you intrepid travellers I am planning on seeing how long I can last without leaving the house. I'm planning on doing a lot of cleaning today. DH thinks I'm mad, but I can't relax and enjoy my time off until I have completely cleaned the house. It'll make moving house in January so much easier too, might pack a few things as I go. 12DOC, your poor DD. Will she spend New Year's in Ireland? You'll have to spoil her rotten this Christmas to make up for it! Kel, fingers crossed for your flight!

JL, I hope you have a peaceful Christmas and I feel so for your sister. Take it easy, be kind to each other and I hope the New Year brings you lots of happy times.

MereNoel, don't worry about not replying last night. I disappeared too, panicking that I hadn't felt the baby move for a few hours. I then panicked because I couldn't find a hb with the doppler. Eventually found the mischievous little thing hiding way over to the right of my tummy. Don't know how it got over there or what it's up to. I can only assume it's as cold as the rest of us and looking for warm corners to hide in. Talking of tights, how the hell do you cope with them? I have lots of comfy floaty skirts, most importantly, with elasticated waists, but can't wear them without wearing thick tights. However, the bump is making it impossible. They just cut in and leave red weals across my tummy. And maternity tights are soooo expensive. Good luck with the midwife.

Anyway, housework beckons...

Baublesbenson · 22/12/2006 11:04

Sunnysam, thinking of you and hoping that you will be feeling like enjoying christmas by monday.

CM and Jelly - both great news, it must have been difficult to enjoy being prego having had so much to worry about.

I've had a nasty cold and pulled a muscle in my back lifting DS. DP had to take a day off work on tues because there was no way I could manage. Paracetamol, having someone else around to pick DS up and anti-inflametory gel have worked thier magic and I'm feeling much better. I'll probably ruin it all be sitting on the train for 6 hours tomorrow....

DS made me laugh this morning. I was singing 'If all the world were paper and all the sea were ink, if all the trees were bread and cheese what would we have to drink?' DS says Juice!

On that cheery note, Merry Christmas everyone

StarlightStarbrightSKYTVtonite · 22/12/2006 11:37

Just popping in to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all.

Leaving work at 1 ish today and probably won't be around much over the festive season so hope you have a good one (thinking of you Suunysam and hope you have the best one you can in the circumstances)

largevirginbirthandtonic · 22/12/2006 14:49

Hello everyone...glad to see we are all getting festive

Mere it was fab to meet you, and what lardy thighs??? I still cant believe you have no bump...where is that baby...
LOL at my neat bump....dh said, this morning as i was doing that chuck all clothes i own over my head > i have nothing to wear, it's just baby bump not fat....i said...(hysterically) baby bump on my thighs and back of my arms????? Poor dh

The inlaws arrive tonight so may not get a chance to post much so happy christmas and new year to those of you are going to vanish from the thread till the festive season is over

Thinking of you today sunnysam, i hope you are ok and all your dc. Your situation has really hit home with me having 5 healthy children just like you. You never can tell what is round the corner, im sending you lots of love and hugs xxxxxx

JonahB · 22/12/2006 15:25

Letitshnow, let me get this right. You are spending the first day of your holidays cleaning the house, knowing full well that you intend to move in the next month?? Forgive me here, WHY?????? The last thing on my list when I moved this year was to clean the house before I moved.

Someone mentioned child carrying. I am having real problems lifting my DS. I?m holding him over my hip, as holding across my tummy is no longer an option. However, he?s not the lightest child and holding him awkwardly is really hard work. Anyone else finding this? Actually, I?m a bit worried about late pgy and carrying him. I live in a Victorian house, with steep, narrow stairs across 4 floors. Lugging myself up and down is hard enough, let alone carrying a, shall we say, ?well built? toddler. I know, I know, let him walk? Problem is my DH (his main carer) carries him everywhere, therefore he just expects me to do the same. However, if this is the only problem I have to contend with, I really should shut up, shouldn?t I??????

?and stop waffling to myself???..

My nice news of the day is that my boss told me today he?s going to be awarding me a special pay bonus for going beyond the call of duty. Totally unexpected and v.much welcomed. I just thought I had been doing my job!!! Always nice to be appreciated!!!! Long live nice bosses everywhere?.

have a lovely festive season to all those who won?t be online much!!!!

MereNoel · 22/12/2006 16:00

Letitshnow I haven't had a problem with my tights yet, I don't wear them that often but as you may have also gathered by now I don't have a bump yet. Time will tell if they begin to bug me. Have you tried rolling them down and wearing them under bump on hips?

Midwife went fine, she is fab my MW, we had a long chat about Christmas dinner in France compared to UK. I promised her a Christmas pud for next year. She also told me she is taking on board some new ideas from the UK which involve not doing an internal each month unless needed. Yey, finally!!!!!!! She said baby is fine, not too small so must just be hiding in my back.
