Congrats Katy, we now have 1 blue 1 pink on our thread ooh its getting exciting, cant wait til we all start giving birth though then the fun really starts

Im now off to grab ds1 from next door, they are being kicked out by their idiot landlords on Friday (even though they still had until 15th Jan to get out and had just paid the months rent)and ds1 has been helping the boys pack their things up. Last i looked though they seemed to be having more fun than actually working!!

Im so on behalf of my neighbours, what type of person kicks a single mum and her four kids out 3 days before Christmas. Its not even as if they have a decent reason to do so. They are just being spiteful and petty. Ive told my neighbour to seek legal advice as her landlord is withholding her deposit as payment for damage that is non existent and he is also saying that he is keeping the months rent too. On our advice she has taken photos of every part of the house as proof so the landlord cant get in, cause damage and blame her (thats the type of bloke he is)The annoying thing is my neighbour has somewhere lined up to move into after Christmas but until then she is going to have to move into her dads 2bed house with him. She spent all yesterday in tears, her christmas is ruined all because of those idiots.

So much good news don't know where to start!!

LVB&T, congrats on your new wee little boy! You'll have all the clothes and playmates you need

Katy, congrats on your pink bump!

Creena, so glad to hear your workplace is sorted out. What a nightmare that must've been for awhile.

My best friend who lives MILES away (LA) is 41+3 and was induced last night. She was going to have c-section as her boy was breech, but he flipped at the last mo so it's been a waiting game for 10 days now. I'm just so excited for her. It's the first of my really close friends to have a baby and I feel like it's my sister. I want to cry!! Sorry for boring you...

Anyone use a sling when they had a baby with a tot running around? I'm thinking it might be a good way to manage in the beginning...?

Has anyone else got stretchmarks? I got the shock of my life when I looked in the mirror last night. I've not even grown that much!

CM - Sooo pleased for your fab news. What a great christmas pressy.

CreenaberrySauce · 20/12/2006 12:32

I am convinced that I have stretch marks. I can feel that my skin is different right at the bottom of my bump (just above bikini line) but when I look in the mirror, I can't see anything. I'm certain that they're there, though - lurking at the moment, so I can only feel them - waiting to jump out!

I am becoming remarkably hairy, though. I'm having my bikini area seen to on Friday, as it's out of control. Poor DH was shocked the other night - he put one finger on one side of my george where the hair starts and one finger on the other where the hair ends. Then he exclaimed in a shocked voice "God! That's got to be about four or five inches wide!!" I booked a waxing appointment the very next morning.

twelvedaysofchristmas · 20/12/2006 12:34

Charleymouse - I'm thrilled, thrilled, thrilled for you.
Creena - Phew! Bloody rats of bosses trying to scare you like that.

Pebblemum - Your neighbour DOES NOT have to go if she doesn't want to. Not if her tenancy agreement gave her until January. If she's already found somewhere else and now wants to go, then that's different, but otherwise, I suggest she contacts Shelter ASAP. If she has signed a tenancy agreement, then the landlord can't give her notice to leave before the end of the tenancy. If she does not have a written agreement, then as far as I know, she has automatically an assured shorthold tenancy which means the landlord can't evict her without a court order. In fact, the landlord can't evict her either way, without a court order. Even if he's given notice. She has more rights than she thinks. Please, please tell her to contact Shelter as they will give her advise on him witholding money and that kind fo thing as well.

twelvedaysofchristmas · 20/12/2006 12:42

BTW - got covering in stretchmarks on DD. My friend who has a stomach as ruined as mine said she didn't get any more the second time - presumably as the skin is loose.

Don't know if it's an old wive's tale Creena, but I was told that having a boy means extra testosterone in your system so you get hairier...

santamum · 20/12/2006 12:47

Ah charley-im so pleased for you!
Gawd bless us, every one!!

Stretch marks!I never got rid of them from before-I cant bear to look at my belly for fear of what I may see...

Lildrummer-Im defo using my sling for baby 2-it will be the only way to cope as far as I can see as dd is already a lunatic crawler-how does she get places so fast with her strange gollum like crawling action?I dread to think what it will be like when she walks and I have a new baby in tow..Also will having the baby attached to me at all times help me lose the baby weight I wonder?

Went to the Wolsely yesterday for my tea.It was grand! My one glass of bubbly went straight to my head and I positively skipped up Regents street afterwards and felt very festive indeed-went to Hamleys and spent a fotune on more things for DD's birthday-she is so spoit this year-but I look on it as an investment as the new baby will surely enjoy the toys too in not long-thats my excuse and im sticking with it...

Was just taking my staff meeting and I looked down and saw my bump visibly begin to grow-baby must've turned round to stick out more.It was very Alien like..Covered it quickly with Pashmina-one of my staff has justhad a m/c and is being very brave and coming back to work but I dont want to upset her more and just before Christmas by making my announcement just yet..Although how they havent noticed...Yesterday one of them said how I looked alot thinner than before..crazy!

santamum · 20/12/2006 12:59

I should add that in no way do I look thinner than before..I look the size of a house side.

JonahB · 20/12/2006 13:29

Katy, congrats on your pink flavour

Creena, delighted to hear your work news. That must be an absolute relief for you. LOL at your DH?s measuring techniques. I had a dream two nights ago that mine was reaching my belly button. Horrific dream and was v. relieved when I woke up to realise I hadn?t turned into a monkey. Waxing booked in for this Saturday

Santa, every time I go near my office (I?m home based) I just get told how much bigger I am and how tired I look . They could at least lie!!! Is that too much to ask??

Hope no-one objects, I?ve put us in due date order:

Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 20/12/2006 14:24

JonahB - how very organised of you I was going to do it, but was too lazy

My bump seems to be gathering speed (after me complaining 2? weeks ago that I hadn't put any weight on.

People were telling me I looked thinner a couple of weeks ago, but that was just the lack of alcohol, which made my face look thinner. That and clever clothing methinks.

SnowyMeadow · 20/12/2006 14:47

Thanks Jonah for dorting us out

Well the weight is rapidly gaining! Have now put on 6lbs, but am still under 10st (only just i might add, but 1lb makes all the difference).

This time in 2 days i will be in the waiting room at the hospital waiting for my scan woohoo

I still have the stretchmarks from my ds, although not as red as they were. I'm sure it wont be long before i look like Jack has drawn all over me

Re hair - Have noticed a slight increase in hair. I did start to look like a yeti when pg with DS, but all you 1st timers will be pleased to know that it does go fairly quickly afterwards.

SnowyMeadow · 20/12/2006 14:48

I obviously meant SORTING not dorting

MistletoeandPebblemum · 20/12/2006 16:22

This pregnancy has definately affected my brain. I was talking to a neighbuor yesterdat (not the one whose moving) and i forgot Dh's name. I was telling them that i want to find out the sex at my scan but Dh would rather it be a suprise, well i could only say 'he doesnt want to know' and point to the house, my mind went totally blank. Dont think they noticed though

jessinwa · 20/12/2006 16:55

i just typed a very long and nice post and then refreshed my browser like an idiot.
i think i said i was happy for kel's friend, juicy isn't alone with the stretchmarks (i have plenty left from this one and new ones as well) and that i plan to wear the little one around as much as possible as munch will only be nineteen months when he/she arrives. i think that was all. who knows.
i made a simple sling from this free pattern. it is so easy to follow. there are lots of free sling patterns on this site. let me know if any of you give it a try.

sunnysam · 20/12/2006 19:19

hi i have not been on for a long time and i am sorry if what i am about to say upsets anyone. I went for a routine appt at my clinic yesterday and there was a problem trying to find the babys heartbeat so was sent 15 miles down the road (we have no maternity here) for a scan and was told that my baby died some time between 16 and 18 weeks i have been for first treatment today and have to go back on friday to be induced and go through f*ing labour and actually give birth and like that wasn't enough to take in they then started asking what we wanted to do after did we want mementos like pictures footprints etc did we want a post mortem burial or cremation dont have a clue what i want to do for the best and am now gonna spend xmas trying to decide. was wondering if anyone has had a similiar experience that be able to help sorry again to ruin all the good news regarding your 20wk scans

SnowyMeadow · 20/12/2006 19:34

Sunny - So sorry to hear of your incredably sad loss. My best friend had the same thing happen to her 2 years ago. It is devastating, and she also had to give birth. They had a little boy who had died 2 days after the 12wk scan but like you didnt find out for a few weeks. They had a photo taken with the baby and had him blessed and opted for a PM and also had a cremation. It turned out that the baby had a heart defect and wouldnt have survived for long if at all after birth. They had a service about 6-8 weeks later. If you do opt for a post mortem and they do find that there was a medical reason for your baby dying then if you do consider having a babay in the future then your ante natal care is stepped up a gear and you have a lot more appointmetns/scans etc.

Once again i am so very sad and sorry to hear of your loss. I hope that i have been of some help. Please let meknow if i can help any further.

Thinking of you xx
