Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had six babies, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

OP posts:

there is no shame in depression, be it post-natal or other.

If you need the help, the sooner you ask for it the better.

for iron tablets, it's not the end of the world if you have a day or two off them to allow things to start to flow again, IYSWIM

and I'm sooooooooo sick of peeing too. Am considering moving one of the potties downstairs for my use!

RL20 · 19/03/2015 13:42

Skyra he also gets people saying that to him!
One of his workmates 'wishes he had a partner' because my other half tells him he always has dinner near enough ready when he gets back.
Some people especially women disagree with me but at the end of the day, he finishes work later than I ever have really, and now I'm on maternity too, so it's just common sense really! Although like you say, this is likely to change when baby is here! Grin

Same things with the wees today here, too! Although a lot of the time when I've been standing, I feel like I need a wee and get to the toilet and nothing comes out!

Wow Gherkin - not long to go then! Are you feeling ok about having an ELCS? I considered one although not in place of a VBAC, as this is my first and it was purely because I've been feeling terrified about birth, but I'm 99.9% sure I want to go ahead and let nature take it's course now!

GherkinMuncher · 19/03/2015 13:56

RL. My DD ended up as an EMCS. Glad I had the experience of labour etc, but I've been feeling a bit anxious about it now and I'm the most relaxed person ever! I'd much prefer a planned section than another emergency.

RL20 · 19/03/2015 14:11

Gherkin yes of course, totally agree. I suppose after you've experienced an emergency, it's bound to make you feel anxious. So I'd say you've made the right decision for you! Good luck! Not long to go Grin

daholster · 19/03/2015 14:15

Wow RL well done for overcoming some of your labour fears, good on you!

I'm feeling a bit depressed. Considering getting a Brew and having a little cry actually, mope a bit and then maybe I'll feel better...

Its because I just got back from my midwife appointment, baby is fine and that is the main thing. Of course I am happy about that! I'm gutted because he is just not engaging. He is still high, lots of head to feel. The midwife wondered whether the is some scar tissue stopping him dropping Sad I really hope its just that I'm a stretchy-uterused second time mum and he has lots of room! She said we just have to wait and see if/when I go into labour what happens.

Its still early, only 36+2 so I'm being a bit of a drama queen. But I'm so uncomfy, so ready for him to drop, and another 6 weeks potentially of waiting and wondering seems a lot to take at the moment, and so IABU and want to cry Sad And the bump sore points get so painful and my ribs beinf pressed hurt, I'm excited to see him but it seems like forever away. Sad At the moment I would do anything to need a wee all the time!!!

sniff Brew

FiRaffe · 19/03/2015 14:42

Oh daholster, but as you say you have a while yet for him to drop.

Am facing the wonders of day time TV today. ....what on earth is it with The Edge- quiz show meets indoor bowls! Definitely getting the box sets out for mat leave!

Siarie · 19/03/2015 14:49

Place marking

PenguinPoser · 19/03/2015 14:49

Ah Squatting bless you Flowers and Cake for you. Are you having any help or support with your DS? You most definitely will not be a horrible mum whatever happens. Have you spoken to your midwife or GP about your previous PND and your worries? Might really help and they could put some extra support in place in terms of postnatal visits.

Sorry if I've missed previous posts but what is going on with your DS? Although obviously it's ok if you don't want to talk about it as I might not be able to help - but others might.

Good luck Misty don't worry I won't mention any names on here ??

PenguinPoser · 19/03/2015 14:51

Sorry missed loads of other posts since starting my reply...!

daholster · 19/03/2015 15:08

Hello penguin, I replied to you on the old thread! No need for a reply though Grin

Ate a big pile of cream on some fruit, now I feel sick!

Omg RL horrific boiler story!!! We are still without heating but thankfully have an immersion heater for hot water though I am sure it is costing us plenty extra... Waiting for landlord to approve the latest bit that needs replacing and how much will I bet that the only time the engineer can come will be tomorrow afternoon around the same time as my scan appointment at hospital?!

Fun times...

MoominMama22 · 19/03/2015 16:07

Rubbish :(
Just been for 38wk check up and BP is up again at 142/96 and +protein so being sent for monitoring on the ward except can't get hold of the husband!!
Rural areas need mobile phone masts!

I had a real productive nesting day all planned, but may be a night in Hosp instead. Sob sob.

37+5
Will any of these babes wait til April I wonder ?

skyra13 · 19/03/2015 16:13

Moomin Sendng you some Flowers and hugs!!

Do you not have a work number for Husband? Mine is a teacher so I have made him give me the school number in case I go into labour!

Calm thoughts try an bring that BP down! I am having trouble with my Bp to so I do feel for you!! At least Midwife has spotted it and you are in the best place!! xx

FiRaffe · 19/03/2015 16:22

Hope you get hold of your husband Moomin and the monitoring is all okay.

Underwood2013 · 19/03/2015 16:23

Hope all is ok moomin! And hope you can reach the husband....

So many Appts today not going to plan - hang in there everyone!

gherkin congrats on the booking in date - I had an emcs with ds so am looking forward to getting an ecs date at my scan tomorrow... As you said, much less drama with ecs (providing nothing "happens" prior to the booking in date!)

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 19/03/2015 16:24

moomin, mine was higher and I had protein and I was still sent home.

It seems to vary according to region.

Hopefully they've decided to let you home now too. maybe a second pee sample would be clear?

MoominMama22 · 19/03/2015 16:25

Thanks skyra I was advising someone on Fb group about BP home remedies ( I don't know who matches up with who on here) but too bad I couldn't take my own advice....
My husband works outdoors , mostly out of signal area... We joked about smoke signals come D-day, but reality is frustrating. I feel pretty calm I'm going to have a cuppa and if I can't reach him by 5.30 I will get the neighbours to take me in.

MoominMama22 · 19/03/2015 16:27

eBwy I think it also depends on what your BP was at booking and what's normal for you. She was going to just come check me at home tomorrow, but I could see her thinking over my puffy face, hands and headache and she changed her mind!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 19/03/2015 16:33

probably - mine was only just under their "magic level" of 140/90 at booking too. I did spend may afternoons on the day ward when I was having the eldest too, due to my BP. They just increased my medication this time around.

hopefully yours will be coming back down now.

daholster · 19/03/2015 16:34

Good luck moomin

Squatting a friend of mine had it with her first and so was vigilant with her second who's now nearly 6 months, she says she hasn't had any of the same feelings but would defo recognise them if she did - and it's not that no 2 has been exceptionally easy or anything - allergies affecting feeding and sleeping not fabulous.

As others have said, speak to your mw, you should defo be on their radar.

Sorry your DS is going through a mischievous patch. I feel like we might be coming out the other side of one with DD - here's hoping. She was ok as a 2yo so more the terrible threes over here.

RL20 · 19/03/2015 17:02

Underwood you can bet that will probably be the case! Hopefully not though. It seems like it goes on forever. In reality, it was only a week out of our lives, but I'm just glad it happened then and not closer to my due date, or with the baby actually being here. Hope it all gets sorted soon and isn't too costly!

Aw Moomin hope you get hold of him soon. You would think that in this day and age there would be phone masts everywhere! I'm thinking the same nearer the time, my partner is a lorry driver so could be anywhere in the country, although he is trying to get shorter local runs for throughout April. I had protein in my wee a few weeks ago, but my blood pressure was ok and it could of been down to me feeling run down and having a cold etc. I hope you're taking it easy!

Daholster yes I feel like I'm slowly turning a corner, not quite there yet, but feel like if I stay in the mind frame that I'm in now, I'll be ok for natural labour and birth fingers crossed . But you know what hormones are like, I could be completely different tomorrow!
Sorry to hear you're feeling depressed. I've had a few days (or more nights) like that. Felt a bit silly crying myself silently to sleep. But then did feel a bit better the day after. I think I've got time to overthink things now, which isn't great!
RE baby, just think of it in the way that he's obviously not ready yet, not quite fully cooked! No engaged head here either and even I was a bit down about it (and I'm only 35+3!) but I try and snap myself out of it and think, if he's not ready yet, then he's still in the best place for him!
hugs BrewThanks

cinnamongreyhound · 19/03/2015 17:24

Definitely ask someone kismac, yor first post birth poo will be worrisome enough without being constipated too.

SquattingNeville, you are anything but a bad mum! You are aware of yor feelings which is the first step and you are worrying about the consequences which shows you are a good mum. You need to talk to you Dh about it more I think so that he is aware you need support and despite you not wanting to be analysed I think you should mention it to your midwife. She may just say you are over worrying because of your previous experience, you never know.

GherkinMuncher your elcs is the same day as my induction so we may share a dob. Glad you feel you have been listened to!

Mine never engaged daholster and were perfectly able to get to where they needed to for a natural delivery, even 9lb 2 ds2 fitted fine. Don't forget second babies pop in and out of being engaged too.

Hope your monitoring goes well Moominmama22! Not too early for induction though, 37 is full term so should be reasonably straight forwards if needed Flowers. At least they're not too panicked about what time you need to get in by if you can wait until 5.30 to go.
