Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 23rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 40th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

The stats sheet is here

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Ooh Purple it's my favourite city in the world! Where are you exactly?

willywallace · 13/03/2015 20:50

Enjoy Purple!

Oh Popz I'm surprised you didn't hear me from your house.

Purpleball · 13/03/2015 21:12

We're near chatelet les halles station in the 1st Arr. near lots of shops, bars and restaurants. We walked to notredam and back then I needed a nap!

I'd forgotten how much I love Paris though. DH had never been before. The filthy train in from the airport didn't impress him but I think he's warming to it now

Planning a long slow mooch tomorrow to louvre (not going in), champs élysées, arc de triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Luxembourg gardens and the Latin quarter. Might not bother going up the tower If it's overcast. At some point I'll be back to the hotel for a nap no doubtSmile

Lemondrizzletwunt · 13/03/2015 21:33

Haha! So you're very close to the Pompidou centre, which I love! There are a lot of good bars right there for oodles of carbs good food and mocktails Smile

If I have one recommendation it's to go to a restaurant called la petite peregourdine on boulevard st germain and have lunch, it's amazeballs! (Oh, and la duree for afternoon tea, obvs)

gaggiagirl · 13/03/2015 21:58

Ooh enjoy purple sounds lovely.

AIBU to think I can 'turn' Sam Smith? He's just been on comic relief. That boy be beautiful. He can sing me to sleep.

Fattycow · 13/03/2015 22:20

Paris is lovely! Took my DH there for his birthday last May as a surprise, he only found out where we were going when I'd driven all the way to the Dutch-Belgium border already. I had confided in our nephew what I was going to do and he kept the secret, so I let DH call our nephew to ask him where he was going. He face-timed him and the look on DH's face when our nephew blurted out "you are going to Paris" was one never to forget. Smile

Fattycow · 13/03/2015 22:44

I read most of that thread about pregnancy 'horrors' and haven't seen one thing I didn't know already...

willywallace · 13/03/2015 23:03

Really Gaggia? Confused I'd leave him facing the way he is.

So jealous of you being in Paris Purple.

Purpleball · 14/03/2015 07:31

Thanks Lemon. Where's La Duree, I've not heard of it

Fattycow · 14/03/2015 07:45

Hello viroids! How is everyone? I had a terrible night, so I'm knackered now...

gaggiagirl · 14/03/2015 07:59

will I think its because he's such a nice fella. Or maybe we could just do lunch together?
fatty was the bump getting in the way or just general cant sleepness?

DulcetMoans · 14/03/2015 07:59

Hope you have a great time purple. It sounds lovely a did you can chuck in a couple of naps it will be even better!

lemon, if you don't hear them much anyway I doubt it would be a problem but when anyone has a baby it is just one of those things that is accepted I think - you might hear it sometimes. If they've had kids in sure they would understand. Agree you should get someone to tell them if you do home birth though. You don't want a copper turning up at critical moment and getting an eyeful!

You must have a comfy womb going on there pis! Have you tried all the other top tips yet? Curry for dinner maybe.

One of my friends used the sound of the hair dryer wil. Apparently there's a video on YouTube of it on loop for hours. Said the same thing though - if connection cuts out she panics!

willywallace · 14/03/2015 09:04

Haha yeah I missed it turning off at 5am and so she woke up! It's bizarre how effective it is.

He does seem like a nice fella Gaggia. I find him a bit dull though.

Lemondrizzletwunt · 14/03/2015 09:21

Purple if you like sweet things it's simply incredible. There's one just off the Champs Élysées and another in the 8th too on Hausmann, but I think that ones sells candles or is the shop rather than the cafe. Do go if you get chance, it's about 5 mins from the louvre, just the other side of the jardins de Tuileries. It's not cheap, but their hot chocolate is basically molten chocolate served to you in a sterling silver teapot. Heaven.

Pisghetti · 14/03/2015 09:58

Morning viroids. Baby still tucked up in belly. Had curry for lunch yesterday Dulcet! It was the donated curry - very tasty! I made fresh rice though. I'm unduly paranoid about rice. Tried bouncing in a darkened room last night as DP was out for the evening and nipple tweaking. Nada (my nipples are sore now Hmm). I'm on my 150th (yes I've counted) raspberry leaf tea bag and I've finished my third pack of dates. I still have two days until I am officially late at which point I'll bring out the big guns - lots of shagging and the breast pump (probably not at the same time).

Sounds like you're having a fantastic trip Purple!

DP isn't keen on the idea of white noise as he thinks it might stop him sleeping. We'll see how he feels if we get a screamer Grin

batfish · 14/03/2015 10:25

Is there anything I need to know about nursery furniture? I know ridiculously early at 10 weeks to be thinking about it but we are heading back to the UK in 4 weeks and we have some stuff we want to ship back here. Everything here is so expensive and less choice so we were thinking of buying nursery furniture in the UK and sticking it in the shipment. Which means we would have to order it in the next couple of weeks. I am literally clueless but was thinking we need wardrobe, changing table with drawers underneath and cot. Are there different types of cots or anything to look out for?! We were thinking about pram as well but I don't want to do that yet as think that will be a fun thing to buy a bit later.

batfish · 14/03/2015 10:26

Keeping everything crossed for you pis that baby comes soon! My goodness you've had a lot of raspberry leaf tea Shock

ChatEnOeuf · 14/03/2015 10:49

Sounds lovely Purple, enjoy!

Bat I can't think of anything else you would need to know as such. Deciding between a drop-side cot (controversial, I think they were banned in the US) and a regular one would be the only key thing - after that it's just style. We have a wardrobe, changing table with drawers/shelves and a cotbed (slightly larger than a cot, designed to last a bit longer). Things like a toybox, bookcase etc. are bonus extras that you might want but not necessarily immediately. I feel your pain re: pricy goods - it remains cheaper to buy stuff in the UK and pay the extortionate delivery charge to here, than to buy locally.

Waving pompoms for you Pis

teejayem · 14/03/2015 10:49

Morning all. Best nights sleep I've had for ages, managed to go off at 10.30 and then cats/tiny tee kicking got me up at 6, which is a result. :)
We've got to go to MiLs tomorrow for Mother's Day :( was so hoping to duck out of it but my mum doesn't 'do' Mother's Day and never has, so I don't have an excuse. Mr tee hasn't booked dinner or lunch or anything so it's fag smoke filled house and terrible cooking to look forward to cries

Really depends on how much space/how much stuff you've got bat - I would have been happy with a Snuzpod and a couple of ikea drawers to kick off with tbh, but ended up with the full works ^^see MiL above. Hmm. My tip would be to go for stuff that looks like 'normal' furniture so you aren't forever stuck with stuff you could only use in a nursery (if that makes sense). Cot wise, I wanted a co-sleeper (hence Snuzpod) and we got a cot bed for when he's a bit older in his own room, which then converts into a toddler sized bed.

Actually really fancy a curry now, damn you pis!

Pisghetti · 14/03/2015 11:20

Fucks sake! I've lost this message after I've finished typing twice!

Right in summary:
Offer to cook/buy curry to take Tee? Or just turn up with one and justify it as a craving (you can't ignore that shizz - baby needs what baby wants!). Maybe you will have to leave shortly afterwards as you 'forgot' the Gaviscon?

Yes to furniture that lasts beyond nursery stage. Our changing unit is a bookcase with an add on bit for changing so once we no longer need it for changing - it's a bookcase!

Top tip : H&B RLT is really nice and pretty much always on offer. Twinings - not so great.

Having a long bath while I still can. Must haul ass soon to collect DS for an afternoon shouting at the rugby. We were supposed to get match tickets but my dad's contact let him down was rather hoping to give birth at the millenium stadium!

willywallace · 14/03/2015 11:36

Ooh Pis that would have got you on the big screen for sure!

What are you going to do about the smoke issue once baby arrives Tee?

The main thing is probably to decide between cot and cotbed Bat. Also you might want some kind of chair in the room for night feeds/reading stories if you can fit one in? In MiniWil's room we just have chest of drawers, cotbed and chair and footstool. Plus built in wardrobe with a bookcase inside it. In baby's room we just have a cot and chest of drawers and lots of mess. We should probably sort it out.

teejayem · 14/03/2015 12:21

It's a problem wil. (And probably my next big row ahead, aside from her pushing to be at the birth Hmm) I've already said to Mr Tee I don't want the baby in a smokey house, plus the smell actually makes me feel sick now (and the way it sticks to your clothes....) I'm actually an ex smoker so even more of a tosser about it. He hasn't really said anything, she smoked from the minute he popped out and grew up in a smokey house so I think he's a bit 'well it never did me any harm'. The thought of taking little tee anywhere and then getting him home stinking of cigarettes really upsets me, so if she wants to see him, she'll have to start smoking outside, or come to us. The problem is that everyone has smoked in that house for such a long time I don't think the passive smell will ever go away but I'm not budging on this one!

I'm hoping to plead back pain pis - it's the the third weekend in a row we've seen her and I am running out of things to make conversation about. Mr Tee knows I don't want to go, and tiny tee seems to have turned sideways again which makes eating really uncomfortable so I think if I moan enough today I might have a quick exit tomorrow. So stupid, I should be more tolerant but I am sick to death of her, and feel bad for Mr Te being caught in the middle.

Indigoblue2 · 14/03/2015 12:27

tee your mil is such a pita! Every time you mention her she seems more and more annoying! I'm with you on the smoking issue. At least it's so accepted now that smoking and babies don't mix. Why don't you say that the midwife has stressed to you its crucially important that small babies aren't in houses where there is ANY risk of passive smoke inhalation? Obvs this won't help you tomorrow but at least once he's out it might.

I want a curry too now. I'm really hoping minipis gets a shift on pis and you get the MLU birth you want. Come on little pisgirl!!!

lemon I'm another one who's toying with the home birth thing. Have kinda resigned myself to the fact it may be MLU as I'm an hour from hospital, but I haven't abandoned the idea completely! How far are you from MLU or hospital?

Lemondrizzletwunt · 14/03/2015 12:43

Yay for homebirth Indigo! To be honest I live in a city with an excellent MLU and a hospital too, so I suppose I do have the luxury of knowing that I can be easily transferred if necessary, but providing I have a low-risk pregnancy I am absolutely adamant that home birth is the safest thing for me

Lemondrizzletwunt · 14/03/2015 15:24

Another corker of a fred if anyone wants some light afternoon reading Grin
