New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

OP posts:

That legislation was never going to cover me anyway. I'd have had to cross my legs for a month.

Speaking of which, my poor friend still hasn't had her baby. She went to Kings yesterday afternoon and found she was only 1cm dilated. They monitored the heartbeat etc and gave her a sweep, then she went home (after lots of walking to speed things up).

Think she was contracting every 15 minutes to about 4am, then it stopped! Boo.

I had a very sick day yesterday. Threw up for the third time at about 8:30pm, and there was blood! Looks like my oesophagus (sp.?) has been damaged. Got to try very hard not to be sick today.

How's everyone else?

TheBlonde · 11/10/2006 09:33

Hi folks
Doing okay here. Bit tired but keep going to bed too late.

Currently waiting on news of cousin no2 who went in for induction yesterday.
Cousin no 1 should be out of hospital later this week although her LO will be in for a while longer

Whoo - what "remedies" have you tried for your sickness?

Piffle · 11/10/2006 09:36

not been around, kids have been very ill with flu, I've been so tired with caring for them 24/7. I'm now horridly ill with sinusitis and infalmed windpipe
Feel like poo....
Back soon in new incarnation of happy glowing pregnant person
On up side heard heartbeat at m/w check t'other day

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 11/10/2006 09:36

Whoo, I have posted on your other thread. I've had it too

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 11/10/2006 10:40

Hi The Blonde: none of the 'folk' remedies worked for me, and was prescribed a couple of different anti-emetics, with little effect. here's my thread . Any news on your friend yet?

Thanks for your post annie: sorry to hear you've had this too. I wasn't too worried by this morning (it's got to be better than bleeding from the other end), but a gastro-intestinal nurse said I should see a doc, so I've got an appointment for this afternoon. Gawd bless MN.

Sorry to hear you've been so poorly Piffle. Glad LO's heartbeat cheered you up!

Hi all - another newbie - scan on the 19th, EDD April 30th, but ds was the full 9 days late so not sure where to put myself really!
I say 9 days late but he arrived at home (unplanned) in 2.5 hours from first contraction (I LOVE my midwife-led team - totally proffessional and I was so in the zone by the time they arrived) No wonder I was in shock! I'm hoping for a little less of a rush in the end to be honest this time round!

Onilly - I had boils constantly throughout last pg - face, back armpits ears (now That's painful) - best remedy is to let it go it's course as I found mine took a week to cycle through and it takes 3 days for antibiotics to take affect. Pain relief? Hot flannel as hot as you can bear really really helps, magnesium sulphate paste will soften the skin & help it 'out' - but apart from that no more help to offer I'm afraid. They're AWFUL and depressing. showers and antimicrobial soap/moisurisers helped too. Best of luck, and head up - YOU can't help it!

Anyway, hi to everyone - sound like a nice bunch!

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 11/10/2006 10:44

Yes, I saw her post. TBH I wouldn't be too worried, the GP was not at all surprised when I told her last time. Better to be cautious though I suppose.

I would so love to be one of those lucky sods who sail through pregnancy looking blooming and healthy!!!

Stick with it whoo, it's not forever, and the minute baby is out you will be amazed how 100% better you feel (is this your first? I can't keep up with everyone's stories!)

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 11/10/2006 10:45

Waspelly, this is March, not May, but welcome anyway, the more the merrier!

Rosyspookily · 11/10/2006 10:45

You poor things whoowhoo and piffle. hope you guys feel much better very soon.
Its very wintery here today and I feel like hibernating.
All the funny names are great fun. dd age 3 is all excited about halloween this year. Will have to do something. We don't mark 5th Nov here in NI its all halloween night fireworks here.
My scan date is 1st Nov. Its going to be mad around that time hopefully we will all be reassured by our scans.

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 11/10/2006 10:47

Thanks annie!

Actually, I do feel pretty cheerful. Think I've got those fabled 2nd trimester hormones, even through the puking.

La la la

(Yes it is my first. Stupidly excited every time I feel a kick).

Rosyspookily · 11/10/2006 10:52

Waspelly tou are funny not sure if baby will come in April or May so you've joined the March thread. hee hee but this is the best one of course so you ought to stay!

eidsvold · 11/10/2006 10:55

bought swimsuit and boardshorts ready to start toddler/baby swimming classes with dd2 on Friday. Bought large sizes boardies that I can pin in and let out as the need arises.

15+5

Rosyspookily · 11/10/2006 10:56

Apart from anything else Onilly needs a fellow boily person

AmieR · 11/10/2006 11:11

Morning All.

Survived evening at the IL's without wanting to cause serious pain to anyone! I am classing this as a HUGE success. MIL already bought some garments which surprised me.

Must think of spooky name to fit in now.

Was lying in bed this morning and DH's jaw dropped, I was like "WHAT?" he just pointed at my belly! I have a bump! seems to have appeared over night!

Think I am coming out in sympathy for Onilly! Huge blind spot in chin!

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 11/10/2006 11:13

Hello Amie for the bump for the chin!!

RabidZombieAmie · 11/10/2006 11:26

Hey Annie!

Just as long as the bump on chin remains smaller than belly bump, I'll be OK!

eidsvold · 11/10/2006 11:55

small hijack - annie div - whereabouts in essex are you from? if you don't mind sharing?? lived in shoebury, westcliff and then moved to Danbury near chelmsford.

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 11/10/2006 11:58

eidsvold, I am 100% Billericay, but as I said before, currently exiled in the Midlands, land of islands, filled cobs and 9 while 5 (have you read all the other thread??!)

RabidZombieAmie · 11/10/2006 12:01

I feel your land locked midland pain Annie

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 11/10/2006 12:02

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 11/10/2006 12:27

Yes diva, it's true, you can take the girl out of Essex but you can't take Essex out of the girl!

Have a look at the regional variations thread, it's fun!

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 11/10/2006 12:28

PS your walk sounds lovely.

RabidZombieAmie · 11/10/2006 12:37

Annie - may have been asked before, but where in the midlands are you? I'm in Warwick, Warwickshire. Not too far from the Lovely Metropolitan city of Coventry.

The rain is persisting it down here too... though luckily I'm not out walking in it at the moment.

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 11/10/2006 12:40

Rugby. Lovely landlocked p*ssing down with rain Rugby. I love it here, me.
