New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

OP posts:

Amie, my MS went away this morning for once, are you sure you don't have mine by mistake?

RabidZombieAmie · 12/10/2006 19:20

Penny - maybe.. would you like it back?

didn't think so!

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 12/10/2006 19:24

Poor fox . You're not the only one, and it seems antenatal depression is a relatively common phenomenon, particularly if you're under lots of pressure as you seem to be!

Do you have the option of lessening your work-load? I felt an awful lot better once I'd shed some of mine.

Amie: I hope the funeral helped. I've been to far too many, but they do help me to accept that the person has gone.

I'm off to wedding in a week and a half, but my lovely friend has given me a voucher for thematernitycollection.com. You can hire designer dresses. Whoo-hoo! Couldn't have afforded it, but I have to spend the voucher on the website .

Met with DollyP this afternoon. Can vouch for her being a lovely blonde with a very cute little girl. How nice to have such a fab MN member 'round the corner!

Right, I'm off to do my food-shopping online. Got to get the ingredients for the Xmas cake.

Jaykillandhide · 12/10/2006 19:36

Fox, youre so not a miserable bag! you have been the source of many a lighthearted moment( i might not have posted but i did read) try not to get too laden down with everything, you are allowed to feel like its all getting on top of you. Remember ( how coould you forget) that all pregnancies are different and this one is no exception, try and think about the positives and take one day at a time, done dwell on the negative shit thats there and definatley try not to hard to think of next month or the month after, if you know what i mean. As for work, like whoo said, can you lessen the work load at all, if not, can you at least agree with work to start later, or take more breaks? they should be able to arrange something for you, if not see your GP get him to sign you off for a couple of weeks so you can have a rest, dont forget we are not superwoman, even though we like to think so. Big hugs to you my love it WILL get better.

kittythescarygoblin · 12/10/2006 19:53

Fox, I think they call it it tirdness, it's a killer.
Try and get some more rest and see what you can cut down on. Whilst writing this I am so tired that I am typing with only one eye open
You are not alone.

Piffle · 12/10/2006 20:01

it's funny seeing how many of us with girls want a sister for them
I guess to be honest I'd prefer a girl, but am positive this pregnancy is a boy.
Am also fairly 99.5% sure this is final pregnancy for us.
But then again it took 3 years and plenty of losses to get to this stage so am just grateful at the end
Had urine test today
high sugar in wee... always gets this and detest Glucose tolerance tests...
Am thinking of ways to thwart them.
Ah the boobs issue - mine have not grown - well they grew massively from D -F cup when preg with dd 4 yrs ago, and have never gone down, so am DAMN glad they have not expanded.
Must get some wire free ones but hate seeing my norks drop below my belly button...

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 12/10/2006 20:03

piffle, do you have all girls at the moment?

divastrop · 12/10/2006 20:17

fox-its bloody hard work being pg atall but being pg,working full time and looking after 2 children?!plus u have had the worry of the bleeding to contend with etc.saying that, when i was pg with dd2 everybody kept telling me it was 'understandable' that i felt down etc and i felt like saying'no it bloody well isnt,ok it may be normal for me to be stressed but not to feel as shit as i do,u have no idea so feck off!!!'.so i f u feel like that then have a look at the ante-natal depression threads...theres a fair few.

i havent got any maternity clothes yet.im still fitting into normal stretch jeans and normal tops as long as they r big enough to cover my flab(its not a bump yet).ive been eating loads the past 3 days though so i htink bab is having a growth spurt.

my baby girl has a chest infection.she gets one every time she gets a cold as her lungs were weakened when she was ill.poor little thing hasnt been able to sleep and shes so fed up.i just want to magic her better

thanks for the name suggetions,i may go with whoo's though as i have a fear of being struck down by god if i use 'devil'

divastrop · 12/10/2006 20:20

ive always worn underwired bras in preg.otherwise my boobs hang out the bottom of my t-shirt.
why dont men get the concept of'my boobs hurt'?!

kittythescarygoblin · 12/10/2006 20:50

about your little girl Diva.
We've just done the first round the family cold of the season. With ds1 it always gives him an asthma attack and he has to stay off school. I hate to see him suffer so much.

Piffle how come your boobs grew like that? Where am I going wrong? I'm seriously thinking of implants when I've done with the feeding.[ shock]

divastrop · 12/10/2006 21:10

kitty-do u find the cold just goes round and round the family till spring?!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 12/10/2006 21:23

Thank you for all your lovely encouraging posts LOL at the various boobs around. When I was young, I was 34d, then went to 38g when PG with DS 6 years ago and have remained the same.

You know, I do feel depressed. I hate to admit it (cos my mum was "depressed" for 25 years and she's potty). I think its influenced by the tiredness, but feel I just can't be bothered at the moment with anything at work. - mind you perhaps that's healthy

Onillyboilsandbroomsticks - had any phonecalls tonight? Am worried about you,; it must be very disconcerting, but glad DH is on the case.

Baby's wiggling as I type.

We had to buy a new washing machine last night, but the new one is really fab. TBH the wash seems to take about 2 hours, but the clothes seem so much cleaner and the spin is fab so they come out dryer. Want to go to bed but have to wait for this wash to finish (we didn't have a machine for about 5 days, so have backlog of grotty togs to wash) - sunny day tomorrow, so all out on the line.

hmm, am just waffling now. Might go search out an arguement on another thread to perk me up. Think that Jack Sraw one is still going strong

eidsvold · 12/10/2006 21:48

glad someone else gets outta puff - dh keeps telling me Iam unfit as I puff from running up and down our stairs.....

Try John Lewis - if you have one near you - found them fab for maternity bras.

H & M does do fab maternity stuff. I got some fab jeans and crop pants from George in Asda when pregnant with dd2 - still going strong this time. I wore the jeans to death last time. As itis soming into summer won't get much wear out of them but they are lightweight denim so will get some.

Have 2 dds - would like a ds - just for dh - and you know his dad died and so it would be nice to add another male to the family iyswim. BUT another dd would also be fab - have so many clothes they will need very very little.

off for dd2's first mother and toddler swimming class today... can jsut fit into my old boardies and swimmers JUST - but boardies were very loose normally. Think I might get this week outta them and that is it. Thank goodness I bought some more - although just got huge boardshorts - not paying a fortune for maternity ones for one pregnancy - jsut going to take them in and gradually take them out as needed.

16 weeks today.

kittythescarygoblin · 12/10/2006 21:59

Diva, yeah, it's hard to know if it's the same cold or lots of new ones. The amount of stuff in the medicine cabinet... I could open up my own pharmacy

Fox, tiredness most certainly plays a huge role in how bad you feel. Whenever I'me expecting a new baby I always say to people that I'm not worried really about caring for another child, it's the tiredness that terrifies me beacuse it affects every aspect of my life. Nothing is pleasurable and I only see the world in shades of grey. If I get a bit of extra rest then the colours start coming back. So get some rest woman.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 12/10/2006 22:07

Kittythescarygoblin - thanks for the advice - will get some rest....just got to wait for this load of washing to finish though

I also get out of puff all the time and half to waddle really slowly at the mo'.

kittythescarygoblin · 12/10/2006 22:15

Also all of you I've just put this link on another thread and thought I should do it here to. For all of you with kids who are learning their tables, downloasd this absolutely brilliant game for free!! Even my 4 year old is reciting some of the 2's. Honestly, kids love it and they don't think they're learning, graphics are great. Right, finished with the one eyed typing, am off to bed here

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 12/10/2006 22:31

Looks great - wil let DS 6 have a go!

Ahhh, that washing has just finished its final spin too

shanks313 · 12/10/2006 23:31

Hi everyone

I had my 19 week scan today and everythings going really well.I have to go back in 3 weeks for another one as baby was curled up in a ball ad the sonographer couldnt do the whole checklist.

We dis find out its a GIRL

RabidZombieAmie · 13/10/2006 10:02

Good stuff on your scan shanks!

RabidZombieAmie · 13/10/2006 10:41

oh and can all the already Mum's out there help me with something... will this constant need to pee, pass soon?

morocco · 13/10/2006 11:00

that's great shanks! are you the first on our thread to know for sure girl/boy?? Our scan is at the end of the month and I'm a bit worried dh is going to be disappointed if it's not a girl (we have 2 boys already). He keeps asking if 'his little girl' is kicking and things like that . I think secretly I'd like a girl too this time (at the start of the pregnancy I wanted another little boy though so in 2 weeks time I'll have changed my mind again, no doubt). Guess it's all decided already though!
how's new washing machine, fox? It'll be getting plenty of use once all those baby clothes get in there. I always hated the way baby socks would get eaten up by my old machine. Hope my new one is better behaved.
We've all had first colds of autumn as well. I've been doling out the manuka honey and that seems to have helped. Also, ds1 has not been sick with his which we are totally delighted about. It's often a trigger for a kidney relapse or develops into something more serious. In fact, almost always. So this is especially good and hopefully means a good winter lies ahead. I hope your dd is doing better, diva.
I don't know about the constant need to wee thing, anie, with me it only oges in the last 2 weeks - hopefully you will be luckier. I guess if it's your first, at least your pelvic floor is good. i hav to really concentrate every time I sneeze or it gets a bit embarrassing

Rosyspookily · 13/10/2006 11:11

Hee hee Amie, don't worry it'll get better again but first it'll get WORSE

Foxy I'm not surprised you are down there's NO WAY I could do what you are doing. I was certainly depressed at the start of this pregnancy but now I've passed through into a sort of twilight Zone of 'don't give a fart,' I've just given up and living one day at a time .Actually I feel a bit drunk on the hormones I think. I am dreading the sleep depravation to come. As it is I am up with the kids 3 times a night and don't know how to make them sleep through...

As for clothes my mother who is also potty, and about size twenty with long legs like me, has lent me loads of her clothes. so today I am wearing red velvet slacks and a huge green jumper and my mens shoes on the bottom. Its just lucky I'm so gorgeous I can get away with it.

I'm also wearing a baggy old chewing gum coloured bra with a rip size 38c. I am awestruck by all you guys and big giant boobies.WOW!

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 13/10/2006 11:37

Morning.

Really must get on with some work today. Got hooked on the SAHMs with cleaners 'chat' yesterday.

Hope you're feeling better today fatfox.

I've been out of puff since I was 6 weeks. Running up and down stairs? Blimey!

19+5

divastrop · 13/10/2006 11:56

i can run up and down stairs...its to do with having a super fast 3yr old child and having been running after him for 2 years solid, plus walking to and from school 4-6 times a day im alot fitter now than i was 10 years ago.

dd2 slep better last night, which is good.shes still ill though.at the mo shes being 'creative' with cheese spread sanwiches and bits of banana.

had a mw appt this morning.bp was fine and theres still a baby in there...well,something with a heartbeat anyway.

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 13/10/2006 12:05

I used to walk the dog for an hour and a half a day, go running and practise yoga three times a week, plus cycling to work.

Got knocked up and WHAM. Jelly legs.

Still, the longer I sit still, the more time there is for cake.
