New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

OP posts:

HI all
Shanks, all curled up! thats so sweet, Congrats on a good scan.
morocco , best of luck with the pink or blue!
if ours turns out to be a girl it gonna be a big shock to my DP who pats the bump and calls him 'his little boy' !
Been getting a series of little kicks on a night, Anyone get a sort of sqirming motion? I've had a few and they freak me out a bit, they are only very slight but If I am lying still I can sometimes feel them and its weird!

zombiebridepenny · 13/10/2006 12:09

cake, yes.

divastrop · 13/10/2006 12:09

amie-re needing to pee all the time,IME it eases off in the middle when the bump starts growing upwards but then in the last few weeks it gets even worse(esp. when the baby is head-down).getting up a few times a night to use the loo is good practise for getting up with the baby though

Piffle · 13/10/2006 12:10

I've got 12 yr old ds (from previous chap )
and 4 yr old dd (well she is 4 next week)

Kitty why did my norks grow, only God knows
I know I am after a reduction and reshape when I'm through breastfeeding :
I fed ds and dd til nearly 18 mths and intend to do so again, breasts and child willing
then I reclaim and reshape

zombiebridepenny · 13/10/2006 12:19

Arghh just looked at the clock, got to go for blood tests in a hour. I hate needles my last injection was when I was little...am scared!

zombiebridepenny · 13/10/2006 12:23

Especially due to the fact the receptionist told me the only time they could fit me in was today....Friday the 13th!
Thanks.

zombiebridepenny · 13/10/2006 12:25

I've heard all these horror stories about nurses not being able to find a vien and so your arms go black and blue...I'll stop raving now,

kiwibella · 13/10/2006 12:29

Hiya gals... it's so lovely catching up with all your posts and support of one another. I don't know where the last few days have gone!! We are away this weekend too... the thriving metropolis of Blackpool - bright lights, big city . Suffering the same with breasts / nipples / bumps / stairs. I don't know where my stamina has gone. We live on the third floor and my school is three floors. I am up and down them all day and it nearly kills me.

Glad your Gran's funeral was moving, Amie. I hope it was a beautiful celebration of her life You have a great friend giving you the voucher - hope you find something be-u-t-ful to wear

foxy... take care luv!! All I can think of is hot bath, fluffy dressing gown, and cup of cocoa but some of life's problems aren't solved that easily. Keep talking things through. What washing machine did you choose - ours is giving up on us and will need to be replaced.

Yay, welcome Shanks lil gal Lucky you having another peek in a few weeks time.

How was the swimming Eids? Sure your dd had a great time.

Back to work, although almost lunch time . Keep having teacher's pop in and quickly have to click out of this screen!!!

kiwibella · 13/10/2006 12:30

sssshhhhhh, zombie!!

RabidZombieAmie · 13/10/2006 14:47

pretty quiet here today!

Shanks - you finding out the sex of your baby is really making me want to find out! I don't know what to do!!!

I feel like crap today, pain in my stomach like period cramps and dull aches around my lower back. Really not having much fun.

Thanks Kiwi for the thoughts, but you've got the voucher mixed up with someone else.. would loved it to have been me!

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 13/10/2006 14:54

'twas me!

I'm around, but there are some pretty lurid chat threads and I just can't stop lurking.

RabidZombieAmie · 13/10/2006 15:20

Ahhh Lucky Whoo.

zombiebridepenny · 13/10/2006 15:34

Bloodtest was fine, not scary at all and I got to hear the babys heart which was really nice, just wish he would move from around my bikini line which is where he hangs out
Means I always have to have my ahem badly mowed garden on show..
Its not winning any Chelsea prizes this year.

RabidZombieAmie · 13/10/2006 16:31

Glad you didn't have a nasty needle experience.

I think during pregnancy we can be excused for not keeping up with the pruning.

divastrop · 13/10/2006 16:49

mowing the lady garden gets impossible in the last trimester due to not being able to reach/see it IME.i remember being quitewhen dd2's head was engaged, having to pull my jeans quite far down so the mw could feel where the head was.

kiwi-lucky you going to blackpooli love it there

evenhope · 13/10/2006 16:50

Hi ladies.

Told the children last night. Got a mixed reaction. DD (20) said she didn't mind another brother but she really didn't want a sister. DS (17) was thrilled but mainly because he'd got it into his head that all the trips to the doc/ hospital were because I had cancer and DS (15) was not at all impressed and thought we were joking. Lots of moaning about being kept awake etc until his sister pointed out he'd no longer be the youngest, which cheered him up no end

They then all said that now they knew, it was obvious from my increasing bulk....

Just the parents to tell now, so that's the worst bit. (when am I going to be a grown-up?)

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 13/10/2006 16:52

On the subject of lady gardens, whilst expecting dd1 I had to have an 'internal' (owee, don't get me started on that !). I had a v large bump at the time and had not seen that 'region' for quite some time! DH remarked 'you look like you have a Scottie dog sitting on your lap.'

RabidZombieAmie · 13/10/2006 16:52

glad that went OK evenhope! I was most worried about telling my mother about my pregnancy than I was anyone else! LOL funny isn't it really?

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 13/10/2006 16:53

How many weeks are you penny? I think they expect baby to be low until about week 20. I'm 19+5, and it's definitely got higher in the last couple of days.

Agree about the lady-garden. (Did you see that thread on it a while back?).

I think I'll have a go at immac-ing mine around my due-date in case I have to have an emergency caesarian. The thought of having that horrible razor-re-growth itch while the scar is healing is too horrible a thought.

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 13/10/2006 16:54

evenhope, telling parents is weird isn't it?? I do feel like I'm saying "Yes, we've been having irresponsible unprotected sex AGAIN!'

zombiebridepenny · 13/10/2006 17:30

I am 17+1 wk today
evilannie, laugh at scottie dog as long as it not a white one, pregnancy has been sometimes stressful but not that bad.

kittythescarygoblin · 13/10/2006 18:13

Scottie dog Mine would loook more like a shaggy old english !

LaidbackinAsia · 13/10/2006 18:35

Hello - wow I go away for a week and there are new names and a new thread !! Will try and think of a halloween name soon. I was born on another witches night and have always had an affinity with all things witch !!

Hope you are all well. I had a great time down in Cornwall - PIL's live down there half the year. Went sailing , had fish and chips and only had to put up with mild irritation from MIL's comments about how DH could have married some other woman - daughter of their close family friend.

Had anomaly scan today .Everything fine. DH didn't want to know the sex but I did. We told the sonographer this when we went in and she said " I don't do games " and sounded really arsey. She did respect our wishes however and .....it's a boy !! My third boy ! I am very happy with either , although I have had to buy some baby name books today as have totally run out of cool boy names. Hope I can keep it a secret from kids and DH for the next 5 months !!

So happy to hear from you thankyoupoppet - Hope everything goes to plan !

Amie R - Hope you are feeling OK after your grans funeral - I'm glad it was a good service.

I too did an H and M run whilst I was up in London yesterday - luckily they had some summer stuff left over as I am going back to Sri Lanka next week. I also bought a couple of things from the Isabella Oliver website - which is lovely but pricey. Have justified it to myself that I will either sell it on ebay or use it next time (pretty keen to have a 4th )

Going out to dinner with a lovely but very intense friend who I normally cope with by having a few large glasses of wine (or six) ....Is there a hypnobirthing equivalent ??

Due date 11/3

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 13/10/2006 18:40

Hi Laidback: am v. of you spending time in Cornwall: it's my favourite place.

How about Flayedbackinasia?

I've got a friend like that. Follow advice in Bridget Jones: we simply detatch. We do not engage, we do not obsess; we simply detatch.

LaidbackinaTransylvaniancoffin · 13/10/2006 18:46

Great advice booboo - both about the name and the friend ! Now trying to work out how to do the name change, get ready to go out , feed kids etc etc..

Now after me.... la la la la la , detach, detach , om shanti, om

My new mantra
