Welcome to newbies! Espesh catkins,my fellow due on xmas day buddy!
I've survived DS's birthday. I even made a cake and it was OK I think I can thank Nigella Lawson for that though. Although by the time I'd bought her book(which my friend who is the queen of chocolate cake recommended) and had gone to shops to buy necessary ingrediants(I hadn't baked in a while and had run out of everything) and two new cake tins in the correct size it would have been more cost effective to commission my wedding cake maker to do one for him But I had fun and DH took his life into his hands by referring to it as me "acting like a proper mum" The man is brave I give him that. I quite calmly pointed out that carrying his sons around in my uterus was enough to give me mum status(no disrespect to any adopters/adoptees out there-the above is merely one of the qualifing factors!)
I think I'm having my last few good weeks before it all goes downhill(not that I'm been feeling very on top of the hill for the last 6 months!) I've got a sort of calm before the storm feeling. That or I've finally got used to feeling sick, tired, unable to walk properly, leaking fluid from every crevice(sorry TMI)the piles, the constipation, diarrhoea, hunger coupled with inability to eat, loss of libido, heartburn and random cramps. AS I said, feeling WONDERFUL!
We really don't have long to go. Planning to start getting the fruit drunk for my Xmas cake soon. At least then I can get all smug when everyone is teasing me for not lifting a finger at Xmas.(I made the B**y cake)
PS DH was just joking before anyone gets the MN hit squad out to him. Bless him. I hope my kids inherit their sense of humour from my side
