glad something has cheered you up yellow! Grin

i came on here to get away from the football.....Grin

AGJ · 27/05/2006 18:01

Olivo, I had my bump measured at my last check up which was 28 weeks and midwife said the baby is measuring 26 weeks so is a bit small. If still measuring small at 31 weeks I might have to have a scan to check she's growing properly. She said it wasn't anything to worry about yet, although I am a bit of course!

olivo · 27/05/2006 18:05

I hate it when people say 'don't worry'! Its good that they keep an eye though - i hadnt realised they could check like that. fingers crossed for you AGJ.

PinkTulips · 27/05/2006 18:24

don't pay too much attention to those measurments girls, they can be way off depending on how your baby is lying etc, just check the archives and you'll find hundreds of stressed pregnant women who were told they were having monstors, or not growing at all, and everything was fine, and vice versa. a decent mw shuld pay more attention to having a good feel of your abdomine(sp?) and feeling babies size that way, fundal height is only the height of your uterus, not the size of the baby. Smile

eeny, she's 16 months so running round like a mad thing destroying my house Grin

olivo, spent y entire last pregnancy trying to hunt down a bounty pack and all it had was some leaflets and that little pot of sudocreme! (which is still lurking around upstairs btw). where do you live that you don't have a tesco?

yellow, sorry the buyers are being a nightmare, definitely give them an ultimatum to get them moving or you'll be having the baby in the removals van Wink

Hi Olivio. I'm 28 + 3 and my mw says I'm measuring 31cm. How is everyone doing on the loo roll front? Next time I go upstairs I'll measure

YellowFeathers · 27/05/2006 19:17

When the midwife came out to me on Wednesday she measured me and said I was spot on, 28cm. Baby is or was head down so she got full length but like Pinky said it all depends on how baby is laying. The thursday previous baby was laying across!

PinkTulips · 27/05/2006 20:07

yup, my bump definitely shrank when baby went head down, i went from 9.5 loo sheets back down to 8! up to 8.5 again now.

Hi all

Am in similar position to you YF - waiting to move was supposed to be friday but now going to be week weds at the absolute earliest - Angry we've got to get damp work, and redecoration done before baby arrives - with threat of early induction due to LARGE baby hanging over my head! Also got to get DS (16 Months) settled in to new room etc and all with only 12 weeks to go!

Am feeling really uncomfortable at the moment and can't seem to walk very far without my groin/hips etc killing me - don't remember this until the very end last time.

Glad everyone seems to be doing ok - saw my mum yesterday and she gave me a couple of little romper suits - had forgotten how tiny all the new born clothes are was nearly in tears! - have to get DS's down from the loft after we move and sort them out ready

katy

katylou25 · 27/05/2006 20:15

Ok loo roll test has confirmed monster baby - 11 sheets! No wonder I feel the size oF a house - I am!! [BLUSH]

olivo · 27/05/2006 20:38

pinktulips - I'm in Jersey, no asda or tesco,or other stores like that Sad and only mothercare or a local boutique kind of looking shop for maternity wear so have had to get most online - just had my mum bring me some things over from asda and tesco though - amazing what you miss!!

yesterday the baby was head down with its back on my left but it feels like its been doing somersaults today so no idea where it will settle!!

must do the loo roll test before i go to bed Wink

PinkTulips · 27/05/2006 21:18

my baby seems to have settled on head down but sideways IYKWIM? his feet are poking out my side at the front and it's driving me mad, starting to worry he thinks he's staying like that, want my drug free birth again but don't want to be ripped to pieces Sad

you must go mad without the cheap chain stores olivo!

eenywifemum · 27/05/2006 21:45

I can not usually tell exactly how my baby is lying, but every other pregnant lady I know can! He just kicks so much I never get any rest. It is shocking if I go an hour without at least 5 strong kicks but often he goes for 10 or more in a row every hour AND THEN SOME. But I dont know where his head is. Wish I did! Maybe the midwife can tell me at my next appointment which isnt until 13 June. Thats a long time to wait.

katylou I did the loo roll test last night because I feel so huge and uncomfortable so I thought I must have got bigger - I was still 9 which is what I was 2 weeks ago (I am 26+1 today)and I am confused because the bump is getting so heavy, I can barely walk or move or anything. My bump, legs, and back are killing me all the time!

Sorry for moaning, this week has been hard with discomfort and I didnt really expect it to be like this until closer to the end. I'll get over it in a few days! :)

Salamander only wants the one child so this will very likely be the only pregnancy anyway!

sarahlou1uk · 27/05/2006 21:59

Katylou - I know what you mean about pain in hips & groin. MW says it's because it's second pregnancy and everything is stretched from first time around! If we were expecting our first, everything would be lovely and tight! I'm 28 weeks and have got at least 10 more weeks of pain. What joys!

PS. are you still interested in the boys clothes I have for sale on the for sale thread?

Arabica · 27/05/2006 22:43

Don't worry, I have no idea which way up or around my baby is either, unless the midwife says so or I am having a scan. I think I have an extra layer of cushioning or something but women much bigger than me have said they can tell. Maybe I am just thick (around the middle). I cetainly can't tell if there is a foot or arm sticking out!

sarahlou1uk · 28/05/2006 09:00

Morning ladies. Would have been on earlier but ds kept shouting 'I need a wee / drink / snack, etc' Got turfed out of bed at 7am when dh came in from night shift, got in bed and immediately started snoring. That was the end of my nice nights sleep! Anyway, how is everyone?

YellowFeathers · 28/05/2006 10:10

Morning!
Having a good day so far. I was very lucky yesterday Sarahlou. When my dh came home in the morning from a night shift he didn't bother going to bed, which is big relief as I don't have to try an keep dd quiet!
He's gone to work this morning and will be back late tonight (10hr shift).

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day now. We're going to the Wetherby Whaler for lunch as its dh's grandmas birthday too, then we're off to the cinema and for another meal in the evening!
I'll be lucky if I can walk after all that food! Looking forward to it though.

Katylou, am actually quite envious that you have a date to move. We should have been in the new house by now as all parties involved were aiming for middle of May!
Like you said it's all the things that need doing before baby comes. Ideally we need to decorate 4 rooms but if it comes to the crunch only 2 will have to be done and the others will have to wait. We also need some double glazing fitted into 2 of the upstairs bedrooms as they only have old windows in and dd will be in one of them.
To top it all off, everytime dh goes to work, its costing £10 worth of petrol so the longer we are here the more money we are spending. It totally ridiculous.

Phew, feel better for that Grin I have my fingers crossed for you that you do get moved on that date.

I think I'm going to scan the baby name sites again today and write yet another list for dh to hate Grin
Did all my cleaning yesterday so I can have a lazy day.

Whats everyone else up to?

olivo · 28/05/2006 11:01

morning! have done my cleaning too so am rewarding myself with the remainder of my packet of mini gingerbreadmen - they're my new 'must-have'!!Grin off to my nephew's 1st birthday party after lunch, then get some work done as we've been promised sunshine for the rest of the week so intend to spend it in the garden!

started clearing out some of the stuff in what will be the baby's room - I am such a hoarderBlush. found things I havent even unpacked since we moved to this hous 18 months ago, and other stuff I havent unpacked since i moved to jersey over 4 years ago Blush have to be ruthless, have to be ruthless....

YellowFeathers · 28/05/2006 11:11

Ruthlessness is the only way Olivo Grin

You'll feel much better for it I promise!

Its flippin raining here Sad

YellowFeathers · 28/05/2006 11:41

Forgot to mention the really weird dream I had last night.

I dreamt that I had to have another scan, don't know why but when they looked at the baby they got a between the leg shot and paused it because they wanted to look at the legs and the sonographer laughed and said whoever scanned me last time was having a joke because the baby was definatley a girl Shock and even worse I cried because it wasn't a boy Shock

So weird what you can dream isn't it?
I might start a thread on it as I know there is a couple of dream experts on here.

lunavix · 28/05/2006 12:06

My bump is so strange compared to last time... you can't really tell from behind, except that my bra is usually too tight lol cos I always put on weight at the top of my back (how bizarre is that) But even though I'm 28 weeks, I still just really look fat, you can tell if it's a tight top that I'm pg but it's not round like ds was, it's just podge! Probably all the junk I sneak when the kids aren't looking! I'm 8.5 sheets, and I've lost 2lb though... bizarre.

My nesting instinct has kicked in big time - has anyone else had this early? We've gone organic, I've got an eco-friendly house cleaning book, I've persuaded dh to dig up the garden to grow veg and herbs, and now I've spent three hours cleaning the kitchen.. rest of house is a tip still though lol!

PinkTulips · 28/05/2006 13:40

i've just had the longest lovliest lie in, left dp with dd and refused to move out of the bed, hven't felt htis rested in weeks Smile highly recommended!

Feathers, how you feeling today? that dream is wierd, your probably a bit like me, so set on a boy it's hard to picture a girl... and i haven't even had it confirmed Blush i'd not be disappointed with a girl really, i'd just like to have both boy and girl babies and don't want to have to do the whole pregnancy thing again, twice is enough!

OP posts:
SnowBoo · 28/05/2006 14:29

I've gone from a huge big bump sitting all out front to a very low balancing on my legs bump! Not much pain in ribs as his head is right down but occasionally he stretches his long legs into ribs. Now suffering with SPD really bad and have to wear my maternity sexy belt at night too.

BUT i went swimming today with ds and dh AND DS SWAM ON HIS OWN!!!! I'm very pround mummy (if you can't tell Grin) and have told the whole family.

Now craving cucumber. Ate a whole one in a couple of hours y'day. And some soap. Blush Is there no end of weird things to do??

And don't talk to me about cleaning. Obsessed like i don't know what! Forever hoovering, disinfecting, scrubbing and Flash Bathrooming. Ah well, at least i know my house looks and smells erm...clinical???

SnowBoo · 28/05/2006 14:31

Talking of weird dreams, i actually woke up and was settling ds down but i thought he was my baby girl doll i've had since i was 4y.o! Once the fog cleared i felt better....

Oh, i can see the men in white coats....wonder what they want?

YellowFeathers · 28/05/2006 15:42

I'll confess my weird craving.

Sponges Blush
The smell of a new sponge, oh god I want one now! I just want to bite and smell it.

So between you and I SnowBoo, we'll be very clean Grin
