Hi BHM

Yes I believe Milo was the name of Jim Carrey's doggy companion in The Mask.

I think that the obscurity of such a link means that you can safely use Milo as a name for your little one.

It sounds lovely.

Mind you, better get your other half to agree or he'll only end up making up various nicknames throughout the poor child's life!!! Grin

All the best,

Salamander

Imagine popping \link{http://www2.tulane.edu/images/babies.jpg\this lot} out!

BigHotMama · 26/05/2006 13:43

Who do you write for Arabica if you dont mind me asking? Its probably the most talked about topic of pregnancy isnt it? (apart from the birth stories) Good to keep yourself occupied.

Sal, my DH knows who's the boss lol! Have asked him already about the name and he says its ok, but he's so fussy with boys names, girls names are so much easier for us both to agree on, in fact I find it hard to decide which one out of about 5 girls names! Anyway I dont know what I'm having yet ha! I'm talking as if its a boy! oops!

Got a right swollen ankle today but only on the left foot though? Would love to sit back and elevate my little trotters on the desk at work. Hate not being able to see my ankle bone, looks so weird. Shock

Salamander · 26/05/2006 13:55

BHM we found girls names much easier too.

Something about boys makes it tough - we ummed and ahhed for months!!! Maybe even years!

You'll get there.

Will you be finding out the sex before the big day?

YellowFeathers · 26/05/2006 13:57

Hi everyone Smile

Eeny and Salamander, glad everythings ok now. That must have been a real shock for you both.
I remmeber going in with dd at 27 weeks and I used it as good excuse to get to know the hospital so when I did finally have her it didn't seem so strange IYKWIM.

Haven't had a great couple of days myself. On Wednesday I had another funny lightheaded turn. I had to lay down outside on the patio as I was on my own. I finally got my MIL to come down and stop with me as I'm petrified of passing out on my own. Called the MW too who came straight away. Everything baby wise was fine apart from that he's gone "very much head down"!
Got over that and the exact same thing happened yesterday and at about the same time which was weird. Very scary though. So today have taken it mega easy. Dh has let me sleep in till 10am Grin and I've just sat most of the day but it must be working as I feel fine.

As for names, I'm almost certain Kitegirl has picked Milo. I think it's a lovely name. I also really like Miles, whoever it was said they liked that.
Dh and I are quite taken with Alexander. Lloyd has gone out the window now (I think!)

Luckily boobs ae leak free atm! Although no doubt now I've wrote that I'll wake up in a puddle tomorrow morning!

Salamander · 26/05/2006 14:01

Hi YellowFeathers.

We'll both have little Alexanders then!

I don't have a problem with that - I know sometimes it canbe wierd.

Such a strong name though. We'd toyed with Max for a while...

We're so glad everything is back to normal - really looking forward to each week passing!!!

Your dizzy spells must be a nightmare. I guess that time of the day must be your weakest - try and make sure you're somewhere safe at that time.

Salamander · 26/05/2006 14:06

You know the list of all the due dates - I still think it'd be a great idea to stick possible names on that too, so it goes Mum/Dad - Due Date - Boy/Girl - Name Choices

Smile sound good?

who does those and how?!

Salamander · 26/05/2006 14:31
Blush SORRY! But I seem to be taking over this thread!!!

I just have a question... is anyone else starting to get that feeling, a little like wedding jitters, that in just a short while it won't just be the two of you any more....

???

Sad Shock Smile
kind of mixed emotions?

Don't get me wrong - i'm staggeringly happy that we have Alexander on the way, but the immensity of the whole thing is just... well.... IMMENSE!

Opinions/constructive critisism/name calling... all welcome!!
Grin

YellowFeathers · 26/05/2006 14:46

Oh god yes!
Your not on your own their Saly.

I'm thinking onwards a bit to April next year when dh goes away. I'll have dd to contend with and she'll be 3 and an 8 month old baby!

eenywifemum · 26/05/2006 14:52

Hi everybody! I just got home from an nct coffee morning & then lunch with a friend. Nice day then! And very much looking forward to the weekend, not that I am working at the moment, but it's nice to have Salamander around the house.

Yellow Feathers there is a 'natural remedy' for lightheadedness in this months P & B mag. in a minute I will go see what it says in case it is helpful for you. You poor thing! I've had a bit of it but not as bad as what you have been going through. Today I nearly passed out from breathlessness trying to lace some shoes up and ended up giving up and wearing a different pair!

I met a woman today who is 15 weeks pregnant, and her DD is only 6 months old! WOW! I SO couldnt do that!!

eenywifemum · 26/05/2006 15:00

Yellowfeathers - I've had a look and to be honest I dont think there is anything in here you dont already know. It says you should be checked for anemia and lying down with your feet elevated might help. Also to eat bananas! Sounds like you are doing the right thing with trying to make sure someone is around with you.

PinkTulips · 26/05/2006 15:16

purple - i remember hearing somewhere that spanding alot of time on all fours can help baby shift into the right position, might be worth a try? don't worry though, your LO still has plenty of time, i'm sure he'll be helpful and shift!

we're completely decided on Caleb for a boy.... and so convinced it's a boy we're calling the bump Caleb! poor little thing if he's a she!

YellowFeathers · 26/05/2006 15:28

Oooh eeny, any reason for the bananas? Is it energy related?

I know when I an feel myself going. Sitting outside helps alot.

BigHotMama · 26/05/2006 15:30

Sal, I look at my life everyday and imagine how will I manage to do this when I have my baby etc...I think for us first-timers its not knowing what to expect and its a total change to your life..sometimes I dont think we realise how big a change. I am already wondering how I'll cope with going back to work if I decide to and how can I live with the guilt of not being there 24/7 for my baby? Also wonder if I'll be a good mother and do what is right for my baby. God the list is endless.......Shock

eenywifemum · 26/05/2006 15:31

yellow - just says they are good quick energy - you can add to that by having a peanut butter and banana sandwich! I do that sometimes when I need a pick me up.

eenywifemum · 26/05/2006 15:32

BHM - I think all the same things! I think (hope!) that when you are actually in the situation you just find the way to do as you go along! I am already panicing about how to store fresh made baby puree when I am weaning. How dumb is that? I am only 26 weeks pregnant!

YellowFeathers · 26/05/2006 15:34

Ah, can't have the peanut butter but I shall go and get a supply of bananas.
Thanks for that! Smile

eenywifemum · 26/05/2006 15:51

no problem! so anybody have any nice plans for the bank holiday weekend? Me & salamander don't have anything in particular planned - I just want some nice relaxing time!

YellowFeathers · 26/05/2006 15:58

Its my birthday on Monday Grin
Hopefully dh and I will be going somewhere nice.

eenywifemum · 26/05/2006 16:01

Oooh! happy (early) birthday! Sure we'll see each other here before then though! Hope you have a lovely day!

BigHotMama · 26/05/2006 16:04

Lol eeny, I'm the same hun, I worry about how I'm gonna hold the baby while trying to wash her/him?? And I worry I wont be able to breastfeed and I really really want to. I'm sure it will all come naturally (she says!), and my mom said to me last week that she thinks I'll make a fantastic mother which really touched me (she's not one for sweet compliments) and made me think yes I can do this, surely I've got the most important thing in the world to give my baby and that is lots of love!
My DH keeps having a recurring horrible dream that we are splitting up? I thought it was only me who should be getting the mad dreams! Must be sympathy symptoms lol.
Yellow I agree that bananas will help you out in your condition and banana sarnies take me back to my childhood... I have one every day and my Dh lives on about 3 or 4 a day! They call him bananman at work ha! Grin

YellowFeathers · 26/05/2006 16:06

Thank you Grin

Just a little heads up for you all. If you hadn't noticed the other thread, Pumpkin Patch are having a sale atm and their baby and kids clothes are gorgeous. I've just spent £20 and bought a whole new outfit for dd and and an outfit for new baby!
They seem to have more girls bits than boys but the prices are very good!

eenywifemum · 26/05/2006 16:11

I have a friend with an 8 week old baby and she was like this, worried - but she does brilliantly. It does seem to come naturally when the essential thing, love, is there. Of course with lots of hassles along the way! I just keep getting hung up on the details of storing breastmilk if you express and how to reheat puree!! oh well! if we all keep in touch then hopefully we can help each other along!

BHM, Maybe your DH is having that dream because there is a 3rd person coming into the relationship?

Yellow, is that a shop or a website? I havent heard of it.

YellowFeathers · 26/05/2006 16:18

Both. They don't have many stores.
Here \link{http://www.pumpkinpatch.co.uk/esale.cfm\Pumpkin Patch}
They do maternity wear too.

I think they originally started out in Australia.

YellowFeathers · 26/05/2006 16:21

BHM, that sounds very much like normal anxieties. Its bound to be a worrying time. I know dh didn't sleep well when I was having dd as he would panic about everything. Money, life, you name it.
