Hi everybody! Woke up with an awful flu today so I am not very happy! I had such high hopes for this weekend and now I really cant enjoy too much.

Arabica, its good to hear there is another mum out there who is a bit clueless about what is what and where it all is! I cant wait til the midwife tells me what position he is in, just so I know at least for a while!

SnowBoo, congrats on your DS swimming!! I bet you were beaming for ages!

eenywifemum · 28/05/2006 16:27

I havent had any weird cravings, for the most part just normal food that I enjoy to a psychotic degree!

YellowFeathers · 28/05/2006 16:30

I've just made Mr Men buns with dd and I'm really having to restrain myself from eating them all Blush

sarahlou1uk · 28/05/2006 16:30

Eeny - I've had that flu. It's not very nice so I totally sympathise with you. Mine, luckily, is on the way out but still have very snotty nose and could do with a suction machine that they have at the dentists (TMI) Grin

eenywifemum · 28/05/2006 16:36

You can do it Yellow Feathers! May the force be with you!

Thanks for the sympathy Sarahlou, isnt it true that there is something about getting the flu that makes you feel really sorry for yourself? Blush Salamander has made me his flu remedy drink which is water/spring onions/ginger all reduced down. It does seem to help though so hopefully I will at least have tomorrow to enjoy!

Hi everyone, having a v quiet day--no builders, and DH took DS to a party. I had plans to work hard but I took to my bed and snoozed nearly all afternoon.
I totally went off fish at the beginning of my prgnancy but am now craving prawn cocktail, 70s style, in a tall glass on a bed of lettuce with a slice of lemon on the side!! Also craving potato salad with lots of mayonnaise--and I can also relate to the sponge thing, and the soap thing, but it's the smell of shoe shops that really gets me going. Mmmmmmmmm, leather!

olivo · 28/05/2006 19:16

Evening! just spent a very satisfying two hours totally emptying and cleaning out the garden shed with dh - what has got into me?!?!?Shock

am liking the sound of those mr men cakes, yellow !Wink

Pretty new to chat guys so please bear with me. I am 30 weeks now with my first .. I work for the NHS as does hubby (Salamander) we work for IT in clinical/projects relating to the new National Programme.

Any way, I am diabetic ... have been for 22 years .... my bloods are monitored and I see a consultant team every other week.

I was taken on a tour of Cornwall maternity unit 10 days ago, and it frightened me witless ... they are gonna put me in a BIG ROOM (coz of the 3 drips and monitors I will have to have), its right next to theatre (in case I have to have a c section) .. I also have to have fetal monitoring 3 times a weeks as diabetics are more likely to have still born babes ... and after all that I really was upset by the whole concept ... actually terrified ... hubby didnt come with me, and my mum died of cancer last year so I am maybe a little bit emotionally over sensitive .... AAArrrgh !

Anyway .. I love my baths ... and my lush products .... the lavendar BATHOS is my absolute favorite thing in the world ....

Cheers
Misty

sarahlou1uk · 28/05/2006 21:43

Misty - I'm confused now. I thought Salamander was with Eenywifemum??!??!??!?? Have you changed your name?

PinkTulips · 28/05/2006 22:38

PMSL at the concept of salamandar and his two pregnant wives!

seriously though, sorry your having such a rubbish time of it misty, seeing the labour ward frightened the life out of me too and i didn't have the added complications you do. at least they're taking all the necessary precautions with you sweetie, thats should reassure you a bit at least

YF/NBG - don't be worried, sponges are my thing too :) Craved them all through with ds (sitting in the bath sucking and chewing the water out of one) and am doing it again. Decided just to get on with it!

eenywifemum · 29/05/2006 17:02

hi! Salamander and I are here laughing ourselves to death - we are confused!! Misty hon did you think we all called our husbands Salamander? Normally we say DH but mine is often on here posting under that name! No girls, he does not have 2 pregnant wives!!! Although strangely enough he works for the NHS too! I dont know what to say!
