Afternoon all, sorry to hear quite a few of you are suffering a bit ! I feel guilty posting as I feel like I'm blooming except for daily doses of heartburn, swollen ankles and waddling like a duck with a huge heavy melon down my pants! I seem to suffer with sleeping too and getting comfy, then I get too hot, and wake up feeling very stiff and achey but after 10 mins its gone and I'm sound.

Very envious of you Babylilly that you've left work now! I've got 3 weeks left to go! Have started feeling very tired in the afternoons and when get home from work cant wait to get some major lie-ins before baba is born!

We are off to B&Q tonight to see what stick-ons they sell for the nursery as cant decorate due to renting. Hoping to get some nice fresh lemon paint. Do you have to use a special paint does anyone know?

PT your little DD is so pretty and looks gorgeous in that lovely dress! I just cant wait to start buying either boy/girl outfits when baba is here as only got neutral stuff at the moment and its all the same really isnt it? Spotted some fab dresses in Boots, one with red polka dots and white with aqua sequins - they were lush! And the boys stuff is so funky and cool! Can anyone tell I'm really excited now?

PinkTulips · 21/06/2006 14:20

yup, that was her! found myself a lovely cream crochet top in the end and a skirt to match.. neither maternity

love the image of you galloping down the track 7 months pregnant with a baton in your hand olivo

BHM- do what i'doing and buy the cloths but don't take the tags off, then when baby is born just return the things that are for the wrong gender. that way you won't miss out on any really cute stuff and end up regretting not picking it up. plus it's alot easier and more relaxing to shop without the buggy in tow trust me!

Am planning to buy an outfit for each sex in the last few weeks! Cant resist!

Arabica · 21/06/2006 14:50

PinkTulips, your mum sounds a right pain in the arse! Hijacking your daughter's big day so that she can show off to the neighbours really isn't on. I have a bit of a selfish mum too, so I can relate. Luckily because I am so old, she's also gettin on in years so she doesn't have the energy/authority to interfere in my life too much. Flipside is she's useless at childcare, so no free babysitting.

PinkTulips · 21/06/2006 15:55

the one and only time i left dd with my mom it was such a disaster i've never done it again so i'm missing out on the babysitting perks too arabica.

Have we officially stopped blooming now? Or is it just me overdoing it? I've had to spend the afternoon in bed, and I still feel awfully tired.

PT - your little one looked adorable for her christening. Sorry it all went a bit pear-shaped afterwards.

Hope those of you with anaemia find something that suits. For once my iron levels are pretty healthy - I think because I went off caffeine in the early part of this pregnancy and have never really got back to my normal level of coffee consumption.

SnowBoo · 21/06/2006 20:28

Apparently i'm still 'blooming' but for the life of me can't see it. Feel tired, grumpy, hungry but don't know what to eat, hair has gone wild and nothing fits.

I feel 'blooming' heavy.

Anyone else got heavy achy legs? Can't stand for long, sit for long or sleep!!!!

yummymummy82 · 21/06/2006 21:36

Hi all, sorry i'm a bit late to join this thread but i've only just discovered this site and i'm due on 24th Aug. Anyone else due around then. If so, how are you feeling? At the min i feel really good, just keep thinking that i'm going to suddenly hit a wall and feel as tired as i did in the first trimester!

yummymummy82 · 21/06/2006 21:56

Hi snowboo,
I'm assuming that you've been told you are having a boy then?? I didn't find out at the scan but i'm convinced i'm having a boy too. Do you know what the fetal heart rate has been? Just wondering if there is any truth behind the hr below 150 indicating a boy??

yummymummy82 · 21/06/2006 21:59

Thanks lunavix. Is it your first baby?

melsy · 21/06/2006 21:59

Evening all

Welcome yummy mummy

Had ruff ruff day.Anyone know if I can eat some ice cream or will it stop the iron tablets absorbing,(as read calcium prevents absorbtion), ?Ive poured out my OJ to take my pill after ??

PinkTulips · 21/06/2006 23:36

went to docs this evening and got the 2 minutes of prodding then 'oh, his heads all the way down there!'.

hello yummymummy, i'm also convinced i'm having a boy though not confirmed. was right about dd so i think i've gotten a bit cocky about my predictive skills!

eat the damn ice cream melsy, it'll probably do you more good then the iron if you've had a rough day

Morning everyone. Not been able to get on for a couple of days as BT f**d up our internet connection. Am I glad it's back working! Anyway, started suffering braxton hicks every day now, or at least I think it's them! Bump starts to go hard and I start to feel sick. Have to go and sit down for 10 minutes and then it passes. Never got these first time around so all new to me. Am now 32 + 1 and counting! How's everyone doing????

lunavix · 22/06/2006 09:52

hi yummymummy no this is my second (I'm guessing your near my age, I'm 23 ) we have a couple of younger mums on this thread (YellowFeathers springs to mind, but I'm not entirely sure who else sorry if I've missed you!) but everyone is fantastic and supportive and far more welcoming than irl - I find there's a lot of stigma attached to being a young parent.

melsy just eat the icecream I ate 7 triple bars yesteryda and 3 bananas ! I feel totally horrified at myself!

Getting a few bizarre cravings now... namely chlorine, and the plasticy smell off cool bags (and lilos?) have no idea how to reslolve this if i smell either I start drowning in my own drool lol

BigHotMama · 22/06/2006 10:29

Morning everyone hope your all well! Welcome and congrats to YummyMummy! Come join in the madness!
This baba is my first and due 7th August so nearly 6 weeks and counting!

Lol Lunavix at 7 triple bars! Go Girl! I ate 2 large muffins other day and felt sick for hours afterwards! Cant seem to fit as much in these days!

I'm finding it hard to turn over in bed now and am moaning out really loud during the night waking DH up. He's not impressed! Wonder what the neighbours think ha!

DH is painting the nursery today God help me! He's not very clued up when it comes to DIY, he always try to take a shortcut and is bit lazy when it comes to doing the job right! last year he alomst poisened us both when he used a full can of deodrant to hammer in a nail on a shelf and it exploded and the fumes lasted for days and I was so ill in bed for days afterwrads with a nasty chest infection! I've warned him about using my flimsy dressing stool to stand on as he's a big bloke! Fingers crossed he will only paint the walls!

Havent had any BH's yet, but just got up little too quickly out of my chair at work and had sharp shooting pain in my southern regions? Did make me jump!

My legs arent feeling too heavy its more like my thighs especially when I first get out of bed! feels like I've been riding a bike for hours.

We having sky installed in the next week so cant wait to start watching the disc.home n health channels when I'm on mat leave!

olivo · 22/06/2006 10:44

luna - i love that lilo smell too - was at the hospital yesterday and they were doing a demo of a birthing pool, I'm sure the midwife thought I'd gone mad when i had a good big sniff of the inflatable pool!

welcome yummymummy [ smile] - i'm due 24th too - 9 weeks to go! yay! have to say, i'm certainly not blooming but 4 weeks and a day left at work, then i'll be happier!

apologies for being lazy but I have an asthma question and i know someone on here talked about visiting the asthma clinic - Arabica, was it you? need some advice!
must go and do some work, and stop chomping my way through this bag of starburst......

eenywifemum · 22/06/2006 12:04

Hi everybody!

Welcome Yummymummy - Me & Salamander are having a boy... it will be interesting when we've all given birth how many boys and girls there are! And do you ever think, our children might grow up totally unaware of each other and then meet in University or something and get married and never know thier mums (and Sal )all talked on MN all those years before haha

Olivo it might have been me talking about the asthma clinic as I do go to one.

Ok there's loads more to day but I have to go get ready as I am getting my hair done!!! I am really overly excited about it!

dressedupnowheretogo · 22/06/2006 12:26

also any ideas what to wear on my feet next saturady to my cousins wedding its an all day civil service at a local golf club cant decide on flip flops pumps heels or sandals

PinkTulips · 22/06/2006 12:35

hello girlies (and sal!). how is everyone today?

had really awful dreams last night about dp so i'm in a bad mood with him now and he hasn't a clue why can't help myself, he was being horrible!

luna, i'm one of the other young un's on here...22. there was a girl on at one point who was only 19 i think but i'm afraid we frightened her off with our mad chattering as she never came back. agree the attitude here is so much less stigmatic towards younger mums than real life, actually get spoken to like an equal here rather than some silly little girl!

eeny - can you tell me then, cos i've forgotten what the doctor said, is it safe to be taking my brown inhaler morningand evening? i usually only use it (brown) when i have a cold or the blue one when I need it but the doctor told me to take (both?)

dressedupnowheretogo · 22/06/2006 12:48

olivio my doctor said i have to take my brown one morning and night and my blue one when i need it i need an ante chamber thing tho so dont know if its different

Salamander · 22/06/2006 13:14

Hi everyone,

my blood test fiasco continues...
I'm not going to go on about the situation too much as it might make my blood boil, and then it wouldn't be of any use to anybody!

Suffice to say I did eventually get my GP to do the blood test, as some of you might know, then spent days chasking for the results...

i found out after a few days that they didn't know where the blood/test/results were!

the receptionist at the GPs has been chasing people at various hospitals locally to try and track down some record of me - to no avail!

SOOOOOOOOOO... the comedy of errors continues and i am booked in AGAIN on Tuesday next week to have a blood test.....

i probably shouldn't have posted this as Eeny will go crazy when she reads about it again.

Here's hoping that she is sufficiently chilled after her hair appt to not be bothered by it
