Bubbless · 15/07/2012 15:56

pidjin ohh, ive been looking at bundles.. how much is reasonable for how many items?! not very good at ebaying :(

  • anyone ever bought a pram off of ebay? might be looking at getting it that way to save a lot a bit of moneyyyy

spotty- what did you do with all of the extra fabric?! ive turned mine up but i look like a hill-billy...

SpottyTeacakes · 15/07/2012 15:56

Shock PIDJ Blush

SpottyTeacakes · 15/07/2012 15:58

Bubless I just folded them up and wore them in boots. They're too baggy on my legs now though so I'm not too keen on them

Bubbless · 15/07/2012 16:11

spotty- go and sit in the naughty corner.. pidj will be crying through her ebay bundle buying!! i laughed like a cow
im hoping these are okay, my other jeans from h and m are pretty much identical to these and they go a tad baggy but nothing i cant deal with?
how baggy are we talking? we probs have the same jeans...

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 15/07/2012 16:18

bubbless we bought our pram on eBay, pay cash on collection if you can, then you have the ability to walk away if its not as described when u get there.
Ours saved us £250 and it's immaculate! Good luck!

SpottyTeacakes · 15/07/2012 16:20

They're more straight than skinnies but I like jeans tight on my thighs and these aren't! There over two years old though so possibly not the same. Not sure how often they change their range Hmm

Bubbless · 15/07/2012 16:32

stacey been looking on ebay because they seem to have a better selection that the 'current' shop range! is there anywhere decent / cheap for mamas and papas? kiddicare and the such dont seem to stock them!?

spotty sounds similar!! will just have to wait and see how the jeans go.. i currently just look obese a little podgy..

SpottyTeacakes · 15/07/2012 16:35

My friend got her m&p Sola off of eBay. Also look on Gumtree and Preloved. Doubt prices brand new vary that much

PurplePidjin · 15/07/2012 16:38

Dp and i both pissing ourselves laughing at Spitty Spotty Wink

14 items of maternity wear, start price of £7. I've put a max of a tenner on and will see if i get it.

Couple of pairs of jeans, some tops and dresses... Enough to tide me over. Plus just had a text from the mate I'm meeting tomorrow to warn me to drive, she has two bags of mat clothes for me (plus the squares for a MN Woolly Hug blanket and those things weigh a tonne!)

Think I'll be set for the next 4 months :o

Hello everyone!
Hope you're all having lovely weekends :) we've been busy and DP has been poorly (very serious business, it's a cold with snuffles and a little bit of coughing and everything!)
Went to a local little festival today it was great because there was cake everywhere there was a little stall for a local Mummy and baby shop and they gave us a little bag of freebies that included a short sleeve baby grow and a dummy etc.... Though that was pretty cool!!

Queen your chocolate bisucuit cake looks good... But I'm guessing you don't want a link to a microwave chocolate cake (makes two decent portions and requires a large dollop of Nutella :o) right?

Off to look at buggies etc on eBay now :)

Clarella · 15/07/2012 17:15

.... omg but I do nutella! Still only microwave cooking (and going nuts with it)!!!

Sorry just had to get that in while do proper catch up....

itsMYNutella · 15/07/2012 17:43

Clarella it sounds like it'd be rude not to give you the link, since you're restricted to a microwave still..... Hmm ok, but follow the link at your own peril!
If you google it there are a million variants out there, this is the one I use. I also make it in a small Pyrex bowl, which is bigger than my biggest mug.... Keep an eye on it while microwaving, you might need to experiment and decide when it's cooked enough but if it's overlooked add a dollop of ice cream to it and serve, no one would ever notice!

Clarella · 15/07/2012 17:56

Woohoo thanks nutella! Will do for DHs birthday next wkend (we've had nuff cake today for the week!)

Queen great that all is well, enjoy your holiday!

Not sure I congratulated mummycox from a few pages earlier too! Congrats!

Honey lovely bump! Not podgy at all.

Annoying luck Pidg must admit I always play my cards in the last 10 seconds with a strict top price limit (it wasn't me) bit sneaky but often works plus a bit of an adrenaline hit! (sorry anyone I've sniped) (though made me feel slightly better when trying to bid for 18th printing press and out bit in final seconds by a museum in Germany but pushed their price up quite considerably, the gits, at least I was going to use it and they already had a museum full.) (this was pre engagement, pre wedding, pre pregnancy)

Going back to work tomorrow and feeling pretty apprehensive - its the initial back to work interview really as in going to have to demand my risk assessment and have chat about the fact that I've (and docs) got no idea what's going to happen to this thyroid but could affect me in Sept (which I just hate having to admit to). I've only worked 3 weeks of my pregnancy so have no idea how hard it is (except how much you poor people are finding it) A chat with a consultant at a btf meeting yesterday helped though as it may get a bit rocky from around 30 weeks. Tbh its the ofsted thing really cos we'll be guns a blazing in Sept, I always am anyway, but doubt will be able to be the workaholic I usually am.

But spent the whole afternoon looking at a giant map of GB made of CAKE, (thought glastonbury the best) and then got to eat it. Savoured buckingham palace, Essex beach huts and camarthen castle. The Gurkin was multi coloured inside and should have won!

Sorry epic sugar induced post.

itsMYNutella · 15/07/2012 18:03

I think my life would be perfect if I could be sponsored by Nutella.... Perhaps I'll write them a letter :o

Clarella your afternoon sounds like heaven!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 15/07/2012 18:04

That cake looks pretty amazing I shall have to try it one day soon feeling rough today but had 2 good days do can't complain too much!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 15/07/2012 19:10

V pleased you could take your stuff back Spotty sorry for scaring you before you left!

Anyone else having name ishoos already? I have just started my second thread in baby names and I am at a loss, I love my dd's name I just can't think of one I love as much.

ellliebelle · 15/07/2012 19:13

Bubbless i got my pram for dd2 on ebay brand new in the box for 200 instead of over 600 :)

itsMYNutella · 15/07/2012 19:27

Strawberry yes we are having plenty of "discussions" :o when it comes to names.
We don't want to know the sex so are discussing all names. But they have to be pronounceable in English and German. My name is Gemma and here they pronounce it with a hard G which is really irritating! But I'm not keen on German names like Florian or Fabian.... Hmm

StrawberrytallCAKE · 15/07/2012 19:45

Ooooh I just saw a name which was apparently old German - Rosalind? I like this and Rosalie quite a lot today. Tomorrow it will probably be different.

CakeBump · 15/07/2012 19:53

Nutella our English/German girls shortlist is Cecilia, Mathilde and Dorothea. Not got a boys list as I haven't found any I like!!

Cookiesandcream06 · 15/07/2012 19:56

Yes spotty sorry, I just overheard a woman yesterday really annoyed and didn't want a fellow pudding-bump to be frustrated.

Made an AMAZING refrigerator cake today.. It's going to all be gone as everyone me keeps eating it Blush soooo good though.

We have had several discussions on names, also harder when you already have a DC as they have to go together?! Also my favourite girl name (the only one I like equally to DDs name) would be HORRENDOUS with DPs surname which is majorly upsetting. The names I like are all really 'common' now too Sad

WeeJo08 · 15/07/2012 20:22

Sore head A-bloody-GAIN. Sad Grrrrr. This time NOTHING seems to be working. I am drinking loads of water too but it is just so frustrating as then I need to go to the loo even more often (I may as well just stay in the bathroom all day)

Sorry for moan! Have lovely roast pork loin for dinner in the oven though - which I'm sure is clinically proven to be a cure for headaches. Somewhere.

Nutella cake sounds amazing! But then again so does a big jar of Nutella and a spoon Grin

Bubbless · 15/07/2012 20:52

nutella my dp knows better than to be ill like this, ive always said if your not hospitalised then your not ill ;)
btw- i really like florian?

clarella maybe a better way to look at the ofsted / sept / thyroid thing will be maybe youll enjoy [cough] being back at work and being active and with all of the adrenaline for ofsted that your body will give you a break and just push on? good luck, let us know what happens.. will be thinking of you as i wont be making it back to work before summer (also work in a school!)

ellie did it come with the warrenty? thats whats pushing me and dp towards brand new at the moment, weve been working it out tonight- carrycot, pushchair, carseat +adapters for £500.. is this decent?! HELPPPPP!

weejo im having the headache / water / toilet issue to, went to reading today and spent most of my time in the loos!
my dp did pork chops for dinner, was yummy! enjoy!!

i hate nutella (not the person, the spread) ;)

kate2boysandabump · 15/07/2012 20:54

Sorry you're feeling bad again weejo.

Don't start talking about names! I have the perfect one for a boy and it goes with our other dc's names. However, we're so convinced it's a boy, we can't even think of girls names. If it turns out we're on team pink, we'll need 20 weeks to recover from the shock Grin

I have a nice tidy house and a lawn again, thanks to my 3 boys. The midwife can come now and not think I'm a slattern.

Today I came to terms with having to wear maternity clothes, all the time. My DH who is always very honest with me, has told me it's time. I'm 18 weeks, he's right. So I put all the clothes that don't fit away and left the clothes that do, on the plus side there is a lot more space in my wardrobe Grin

Hope everyone is well and enjoying their cake.
