Feeling rough today. Can feel my heartbeat thudding in my head. Got to go into town (40 min drive) to return something to Next as per their ridiculous 7 day returns policy Angry

Might go into h&m and get some bits as I have a voucher. They do good little nursing tops.

SpottyTeacakes · 15/07/2012 08:17

Oh queen I think I call that a fridge cake? The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook has a really yummy one in it (it has really yummy everything in it though!)

Cookiesandcream06 · 15/07/2012 08:31

Yes I call it fridge cake too! Made some last weekend myself! I added some raisins (for the fruit obviously haha) it was really quite good.
Ah Romsey Rapids, although I went there earlier in the pregnancy and some fat teenage boy kicked me in the stomach as I was taking DD round the rapids Confused

When I popped to Next yesterday they weren't doing returns? Got DD a bargain coat for when she starts preschool in Sept though Smile

How did yesterday go pidj? Hope you managed to get some sleep

SpottyTeacakes · 15/07/2012 08:35

How they'd better take it cookies it's from the directory and they won't accept it after 7 or 8 days Angry I know they don't always accept returns when the sale's on but this store is so small anyway hopefully they will still do it.

PurplePidjin · 15/07/2012 08:47

Yesterday was amazing, although no sign of the projected 20k people on the rec Hmm We did have more people, though, and lots of enquiries so hopefully lots of new faces come September :o

Dp is now cross with me for spending 14 hours on my feet Blush I'm just pissed off i bailed at 9.30 when everyone else (staff) probably didn't finish packing up til midnight

I could do with some chocolate cake and its only 9am Shock anyone got any tips for horrible all day headaches? Got 4head which seems to do nowt, paracetamol not touching them...

PurplePidjin · 15/07/2012 09:15

Me too, mwah. For headaches, lots of fluid - water, juice, squash, melon, grapes...

StrawberrytallCAKE · 15/07/2012 09:30

Spotty sometimes our next won't accept returns during the sale, not definite on whether that is everywhere?

StrawberrytallCAKE · 15/07/2012 09:34

Sorry didn't read the other replies, just thought I'd post before you left Blush

Headaches suck mwah. The only things that would help me were water, paracetamol and sleep. I did press my fingers into the sides of my cheekbones next to my nose and push to open my sinuses as I thought it may have been sinus related and that gave a tiny bit of relief.

The sun is out :)

SpottyTeacakes · 15/07/2012 09:35

I'm going to have a proper hissy fit if they won't take it. It might be different because they don't have to refund me or anything they just send it back to the directory for me

WeeJo08 · 15/07/2012 09:39

Hubby's back this morning! Woop! (He's been back home in NI since Wednesday) Really missed him - I'm a big wimp! Had a day out yesterday with a big group of friends - was really nice (well, until everyone started getting verrrry merry in the evening) but I came home with such a headache. Got home just after ten and they were still going strong! It's actually sunny here this morning! Can't quite believe what I'm seeing! better make the most of it - I hear it's to pour again tomorrow! Sad

The cake sounds amazing! I might make that later. I have one of Rachel Allen's cookbooks and I really like it - there's a great recipe for homemade sausages that DH and I really like. It's great with colcannon!

I think some of you were mentioning about hearing the placenta with the Doppler thingys - apparently we should take that as reassuring as its the baby's heart that "powers" it. Jus thought I would share at with the group Grin

I haven't bought anything for Shnarf yet...maybe I will after the 20 week scan. Still nervous!

Mwahmwah I found the cooling gel strip thingys were quite effective. I just bought Boots own as they were cheaper. 4Head didn't work for me as the menthol just made my skin sting!

ellliebelle · 15/07/2012 09:39

Pidj thanks for all that info :) the dd's have watched an hpur of tv this morning before we got up and dd1 is telling us all about this amazing steam mop that cleans and polishes at the same time :) would appear they have been watching shopping channels :)

HoneyMum21 · 15/07/2012 11:05

So much to do today but i don't seem to be able to get off the sofa.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 15/07/2012 11:09

honey I'm still in bed Blush

HoneyMum21 · 15/07/2012 11:11

:) Stacey. I would be too but i got up to make DH breakfast before he went to work. As soon as he left the hose i lay down on the sofa and havent moved since!

PurplePidjin · 15/07/2012 11:41

I moved from bed to sofa via the motivation of the kettle and toaster!

I have been very productive so far. Have been to see the Olympic torch relay and then to church. My parents have a barbecue at their house (where we live at the moment) for about 40 kids. All I really want to do is lie on the sofa now!

SpottyTeacakes · 15/07/2012 12:57

I'm home now, managed to return my item to Next no problem, have a KFC and get through the Polo Gold Cup traffic in time to wait at home for the food shopping. I could do with a nap but a coffee will have to do! Friendofdorothy where is the torch today? We've got it tomorrow Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 15/07/2012 13:29

Food shopping has been cancelled Angry luckily I have a mars bar in the fridge Grin
