What is with the bad news and jobs recently!?!?!

Pidj If the mortgage company attempt to collect to DD and it gets returned its not the end of the world right away. You'll probably be charged a fee by the bank and then your mortgage company will attempt to take it again usually 10 days after. Nothing will go on your credit rating/report if you make the payment within the same month. If you want to avoid the fee from the bank cancel the DD before it is attempted to be collected then when you have the money, maybe from crisis loan just call your mortgage company and say you've cancelled your DD in error. Hope that helps? Smile

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2012 17:22

I've got savings i can move, i just shouldn't fucking have to because the cunts should pay what they owe! Angry

MyDaydream, you poor thing, back pain is horrible, and fingers crossed that your DH gets a start date soon. Strawberry, sorry about your DH losing his contract, and Purple, that's such a stressful situation for you, but there's been some good advice on here, hope you get something sorted soon. COD, hope you feel better tomorrow morning.
Had hospital appt today and heard the baby's heartbeat Smile. The doctor wants to increase my thyroid meds so I've got to get retested at the GP's this week - managed to get an appt for Weds morning. Also managed to burst into tears when asking her about an ELCS - had the usual warnings about risks of CS but she did ultimately it's my choice. We'll see.

ISpyPlumPie · 02/07/2012 17:35

Hi everyone, just checking in on the shiney new thread.

Sorry to hear all the bad job news - definitely not a great day.

Wrt to bump type/gender - when I was having DS quite a few people predicted he was a boy as I was carrying him "at the front" rather than "all round" or something. Couldn't see it myself as I was just generally mahoosive but they were right Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 02/07/2012 17:39

knotty do you mind me asking why you are thinking about an elcs? I'm seriously considering it for many reasons but then a part of me thinks it won't be like last time/I need to do it better this time to get over last time, really don't know.

So exciting that you got to hear the heartbeat, hope you have a nice consultant? Smile

knottyhair · 02/07/2012 17:54

No I don't mind Spotty. It's a combination of things really, all of which make me very anxious to the point where I'm already having horrible nightmares and I'm only 15 weeks! One is my age (44), and all the increased risks related to that. Another is the fact that I had a very traumatic delivery with DS (37 hour labour, prepped for a section but they managed to deliver him with forceps and ventouse in the end but he had to be resuscitated and was taken straight to SCBU. And also my best friend had a stillbirth a few years ago, and she had been worried about being allowed to go overdue at her age and her feelings were very much dismissed - her little girl died after an emergency CS when she felt no movement for 12 hours at 40+7. Sorry to share such a horrible story - I do know rationally that things are highly unlikely to go wrong but nevertheless, I feel that way I feel!

SpottyTeacakes · 02/07/2012 18:00

Do you feel like the fact your ds had to go into SCBU made it worse? I often think that, although it probably wouldn't actually have made much difference. Sorry you had such a horrible experience and I'm sorry for your friend too.

knottyhair · 02/07/2012 18:21

I think the fact that he was in SCBU was one of many factors to be honest, but it was very scary and horrible to be the only one on the post-natal ward without her baby Sad. I think those first few moments after he was delivered and he was silent and whisked off were some of the worst of my life. Did you have a similar experience?

StrawberrytallCAKE · 02/07/2012 18:25

Thanks everyone, sorry for you too pidj, nothing worse than companies not paying after you've done the work.

On a lighter note I just weed myself a little bit putting dd into the car outside tesco...must remember pelvic floor exercises. Oops.

Bellaboo123 · 02/07/2012 18:52

Just checking in...what a shit day for job news...fingers crossed it all works out.

Grin on all the heartbeats heard today very reassuring!

17 weeks tomorrow...where is the time going!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 02/07/2012 19:03

Grin strawberry

Well knotty I had a sort of emergency induction at 36+1 because the placenta had stopped working (it was all shrivelled!) and I had pre-eclampsia. So it only took ten hours but synto drip/no epidural/back to back baby/not allowed off the bed even for a wee/only allowed to push for half hour then ventouse and forceps. Luckily dd stayed with us for an hour before they took her and she was ok just had infections, jaundice, trouble absorbing milk and stabilising sugar levels.

The best bit was the consultant telling us how tired he was as he was stitching me up Hmm

Is anyone else fed up of being hungry all the time? I think I might actually be getting bored of food!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 02/07/2012 19:04

Sorry about the shit job news today.

I felt the need to throw myself down the stairs which scared me shitless but tadpole has been lively since so I'm trying not to panic (and I fell on my fat arse not my stomach). It has set my hip pain back off though which is rubbish!

On a brighter note strawberry just made me nearly pee myself with her peeing herself story, def more pelvic floor exercises needed!!

CODwidow · 02/07/2012 19:15

stacey that was a silly thing to do Smile hope the hip pain eases though.

Hoping to buy my pram this weekend, we've decided to buy it now as we have so much coming up in the next few months and then it'll be Xmas! Smile

Bellaboo123 · 02/07/2012 19:20

We've bought our pram - good deal so couldnt resist. Trying to buy all the big things now to spread the cost!

brooke89 · 02/07/2012 19:26

Everyone who's felt there little tadpoles.. Does it feel like a twitch? Ive had a Wierd twitching going on all day when I'm sat down and not sure if it's bean or if it's a muscle spasm????

MyDaydream · 02/07/2012 19:29

What did you get Bella? Have you picked one yet COD?
I really want a bath to see if it will help with the back/neck pain but DP is out drowning his sorrows and I'm a bit worried if I get in I'll never get out. It was very painful getting out of the shower this morning and that was from standing.

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2012 19:42

Right, dp will be paid by current (permanent) job lunch time tomorrow, and a call to the bank has confirmed that the actual cash for the dd won't leave the account til close of business. So, while there won't be enough to cover the entire month's outgoings because he only worked for 2 weeks of it, there will be cash in place in time and i can top up with savings. We're both very used to our independence and it's been hard for both of us to get used to shared finance - i was worried he'd had it paid to his personal account with a view to transferring it, which would be a major relationship problem! - when actually it's a banking fuck up. Hopefully ACAS can recover the money from the temp job, but it looks like they've gone bust Sad

Brooke, i get that and I'm sure it's PidjChick!

I'm getting the bugaboo bee plus as need something small to fit in my boot and still wanted parent facing also with the school run in and out of the car I wanted something that was a one piece fold. I don't think it's everyone's cup of tea to be honest but I love them and the fact I can change the hoods and liners etc means hopefully it'll cure my slight pram addiction Blush

Bellaboo123 · 02/07/2012 19:47

I got a stokke had my eye one one for a while and managed to get one 2nd hand for a bargain. Started looking at cot beds now...saw a m&p one with drawer and changing thingy that goes on top for 275 that I quite liked...any recommendations / tips for cots?

Think I've felt movement but really not sure - confusing!!! Don't know if it's just me wanting to feel something lol!

SpottyTeacakes · 02/07/2012 19:49

Cot top changers are great Bella that sounds like a good price too Smile

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 02/07/2012 19:54

I got a mothercare Trenton set, which is 1 price fold but has a carrycot Insert too so can be parent facing, I would have looked an iCandy but can't justify the expense really. Managed to get a good as new Trenton for £50 off eBay, that's buggy, carrycot insert, and car seat. Too good to pass up even at 5 weeks of lol!

JoJoB77 · 02/07/2012 20:05

Sorry to hear the rubbish news re jobs. Its just shit and i hope it all sorts out soon.

I nearly wee'd myself when i read Strawberry's post too Grin my pelvic floor still hasnt recovered fully from last time so that is a good reminder to be doing them now!

MyDaydream · 02/07/2012 20:12

I think I've felt bits of movement, it's felt like very faint muscle spasms. I'm looking forward to them getting stronger in the coming weeks though, makes me smile and zone out of any conversation when it feels like movement. I'm very rude!

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2012 20:14

I like the look of the Hauck Viper, the wheels seem big enough to be bumped up the stairs to the flat (will carry/sling baby!) and handle the state of the pavements round here. It's £250 for the trio in Boots iirc, then we get 10 points per pound for being in the club, then i can use both my double points and 20% off vouchers. Then choose what to get with the points...

DP has seen a buggy he likes by Emmaljunga
www.emmaljunga.com/english/index.php

I have to say they are pretty swanky looking, was in the German equivalent of mothercare test driving one the other day :) we've found a couple on eBay but hoping one pops up a bit closer to home...
I'm not keen on Bugaboo, not sure why. But a friend does have one in a horrible sick colour which might have something to do with it.

The job news all sounds pants! Sorry to those receiving bad news and having employer troubles!
I haven't got a lot of work :( but I'll be happy if it ticks over, as it is now, up until the birth Hmm
