Bubless Grin

emilyeggs · 14/07/2012 16:44

pmgkt can I ask it this your first baby? Only we have the same due date and I've felt nothing :(

Queenofsiburbia · 14/07/2012 16:54

Well, I go away for 24 hours to have a scan, make choc biscuit cake, pack car to rafters with holiday gear (raincoats, hats & wooly jumpers obv... It's Scotland!!), have a big shouty row with DH...
And you've all written 4 PAGES without my over-long posts!

I have been trying to catch up, thank you for asking where I was & how scan went.. It was good! We managed to keep willpower & not check for boy bits so its still 'Berty botts every flavour bean'.

Congrats to Pidj on bluepidjin! Glad it went well & also to others who had scans yesterday.

Sounds like a few people suffering out there, either from sickness still :(
or hormones. Am I only one who never admits to being unreasonable / hormonal to DH ever?! I should put that on AIBU board but am also very scared of that board!

Yep I also struggle to stop my jeans wrinkling & running away down my legs they're pretty snug too!

Good luck to yr DH strawberry for interviews!

Hope all having nice weekends.

HoneyMum21 · 14/07/2012 17:05

Queen - choc biscuit cake...? They are 3 words that sound amazing together!

HoneyMum21 · 14/07/2012 17:09

also, im being dense and the abbreviations list seems to have disappeared. What is AIBU?

Bubbless · 14/07/2012 17:18

queen I never TELL my dp im being unreasonable.. im always reasonable ;)

honey AIBU- am i being unreasonable.

choc biccie cake?! i need that that sounds like something babybubbless would like....

HoneyMum21 · 14/07/2012 17:22

thanks Bubbles :)

I agree with the idea that the baby needs chocolate biscuit cake. The baby has been making me eat allsorts of stuff i really really don't want to eat but he seems to want it so i have to let him have it... like chinese take out and feast ice creams... if bump wants it he gets it :)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 14/07/2012 17:31

Have checked my Doppler and its not a Doppler it's a prenatal listening device Hmm so doesn't need gel, as I say I didn't hear a heartbeat but both heard and felt little kicks, so I'm pretty happy with that!

Getting ready for a night out for a friends birthday to a lovely restaurant! Even managed to fit into a lovely little black dress (doesn't fit quite as it should Grin) for the occasion so I'm now preparing in a lovely girly way!!

Congratulations on holding your nerve and not checking for bits strawberry I think my DH is crumbling, I'm not bothered if we find out, he said he'd like a surprise but recently he keeps saying 'well we could find out if you want to?' lol bless him!

HoneyMum21 · 14/07/2012 17:45

Right, getting ready for going out and feeling self conscious. I've uploaded a photo on my profile - do people think it looks like bump or podge?

Bubbless · 14/07/2012 17:57

honey- my baby frequently wants skips, chocolate, hot chocolate, oranges, chinese spare ribs... its going to come out demanding cavier ;)
honey- that is bump 100%, podge would be more... looks down at belly if you feel anyone giving you weird looks id pretend to be very pregnant, rubbing tummy, complaining loudly of swollen ankles (all i really knew before pregancy about pregnancy!!)

stacey- oh lala, check you out with your listening device ! aha. well as long as you heard something then all must be well inside your personal swimming pool for bump!!

were going to need another new thread soon?!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 14/07/2012 18:40

Sorry in last post meant queen not strawberry, one day I'll remember a name! Lol!

Cookiesandcream06 · 14/07/2012 19:27

elllie Aw how old are they? DD absolutely LOVES Peppa Pig world, I'm lucky to be so close! What sort of thing were you thinking? I mean lots of lovely walks etc (weather permitting) and DD loves all the horses etc but if you want to chill out a bit before a long drive maybe not the best suggestion?! Where abouts are you staying if you don't Mind me asking?

This talk of chocolate+biscuit+cake is just all too much. Yum yum yum. On a food note we are having Dominos Grin DPs treat. And i've got a tub of Cookie Dough ice cream stashed in the freezer

ellliebelle · 14/07/2012 19:47

cookies they are 5 and 2(almost 3) how about yours? they are both very very excited about it :) we are staying at the bell inn found a great deal on kgb deal has cost us £39 for bed and breakfast for the 4 of us will hopefully take a picnic for the drive down and find a cheapish restaurant for tea then go to peppa the next morning. Have you eaten in the park is it expensive? We will be driving to friends in peterborough after peppa pig so will be a busy couple of days. Might send dh on a nice walk with the girls while i sit and have a nice afternoon tea at the hotel :)

pmgkt · 14/07/2012 19:59

Emily this is number 2 for me and I was only thinking earlier that if it wasn't I wouldn't realise what it was. I have only had 1 proper kick the rest is just wiggly tummy. Also I haven't felt anything for 3 days before today so even when it does start it won't be all the time. It is mostly when I lie down on my back and rest my hands on my bump for a few min, but not talking or moving. Please don't worry, I don't remember how many weeks I was last time but def past 20 week scan as I remember thinking how can it be moving so much on the monitor and me not feel it. Have you heard the heartbeat? Maybe speak to your midwife if you are concerned and see if you can pop into listen again.

Cookiesandcream06 · 14/07/2012 20:05

elllie that is cheap!! Bargain. Was just going to prepare you once the children are 1 meter tall I think you have to pay full price for them?! My DD is nearly 3 and she's a meter now but she is quite tall for her age I think. for this reason when I've been I've taken a picnic and sent DP back to the car to collect it at food time Grin so can't comment on prices in there food wise (we couldn't leave the Peppa gift shop without a few purchases either so that's another expense!) there's a family pub just outside I've been to called The Vine I think (and a McDonalds at the petrol station 30 secs away) if that helps.
I would personally vote for sitting having a good cuppa in the comfort of a hotel Smile but I don't think Lymington is too far from there either and quite pretty DD liked the boats etc if weather is nice

ellliebelle · 14/07/2012 20:22

Thanks for the recomendations i dont know anyone that lives that way so its fab. Dd2 is still under a meter so fingers crossed for no huge growth spurt :) i have booked and paid for tickets for 3 of us so will just have dd2 to pay for if she grows. We may even call at a supermarket to get a picnic to take with us :)

pmgkt · 14/07/2012 20:34

Ellora there is a morrisons not too far away, I'm sure if you ask at the b & b they will direct you.

pmgkt · 14/07/2012 20:35

Ellie not ellora

EggsMichelle · 14/07/2012 21:21

It's taken me all afternoon to catch up on the days reading!!! Home alone this evening, DH worked last night and again tonight, so I'm watching old episodes of One Born Every Minute and getting very annoyed at a silly young girl. Got the dog to cuddle for company and thinking about how tasty peanut butter on digestive biscuits would be, all this talk of chocolate biscuit cake has got me feeling creative.

Also successfully cooked a chicken pie and celeriac soup from scratch, very proud of my culinary skills!

PurplePidjin · 14/07/2012 21:53

Lymington's 20 minutes at quiet times, I'm about 35-40 :)

Paulton's Garden Centre (on the old road between Cadnam and Romsey) does lovely coffee, cake and ice cream - stopped off there on the way through last week. It's just outside PPW's back gate.

Romsey Rapids swimming pool is fab, lots of stuff for littlies. Coming towards me on the A35 past Lyndhurst, Boldrewood for deer spotting then across the crossroad for the tree walk.

Up the A31 (what the M27 turns into) near Ringwood is Liberty's Raptor and Reptile Centre - they do fantastic displays with their birds, and have wild baby barn owls just hatched (hopefully they'll be past the current ugly bald stage by the time you get here!!)

I haven't done PPW with him but 4yo dnephew loved both Liberty's and the trees/deer when we went. Several hours worth of entertainment!

Thanks pmgkt, I'm not too worried, just impatient..... Hope it's soon Smile

ISpyPlumPie · 14/07/2012 23:25

Finally bought something for the bump! It's just one pack of stretch suits (in bright, unisex colours) but feels really lovely to have started at last. Also got myself some more jeans (hopefully these ones will stay up!) and a couple more tops. Getting bored already of the ones I'd kept from last time.

I would agree with what everyone else is saying about feeling second DCs move earlier. With DS, I really don't think I was confident it was him until way after 20 weeks. In fact, I think we got the 3D scan earlier than planned (ended up going at 24 weeks) as I was so paranoid about it. This one already seems far more wriggly. I'd put it down to having an anterior placenta with DS, but found out at the scan that I've got one again so it wasn't just that. Pretty sure it is about 'knowing' what you are meant to be feeling iyswim - must have written loads off last time as wind Grin.

Congrats on all the good scan news from yesterday too.

Queenofsiburbia · 14/07/2012 23:40

I think all the babies would like choc biscuit cake, it's hit oodles of chic, butter, golden syrup, marshmallows, mashed digestives etc etc in it!

Here's the recipe (scroll down):

www.rachelallen.co.uk/recipes_march.html

Please don't blame me if your neat bump turns to podge!

Queenofsiburbia · 14/07/2012 23:51

...It's got oodles of choc...
DAMN phone!
Which is also why I can't actually do a proper link but u can probably find it & curse me

PurplePidjin · 15/07/2012 01:20
