Huge congratulations to Warlin. What lovely news for a lovely morning :)

DH and I bought a big parasol yesterday (so, sorry everyone, but now we've done that summer will clearly end again soon, much like it did when I bought two short sleeved tops way back in March....) So I am going to take the laptop and sit in the shade and squint at some schoolwork. If I do it this weekend, then from next Friday I won't have to do any for at least nine months! Woohoo!

Kveta · 27/05/2012 11:38

gwennie we got a gazebo thing for our garden, it's lovely to be able to sit outside again!

just had v shit news from a friend in the states who was due 10 days before me - her wee boy was born last week (and is tiny) and is seriously ill on intensive care, looks like he has some sort of genetic abnormality. wish I could do or say something helpful, instead of howling. Even DH looks quite shaken up, as we were good friends with this woman when she lived in the UK, so it's more close to home for him than normal (like when I tell him about someone on MN). :(

I will set up the next thread later, but we'll need a postnatal one soon too! i am so uninterested in making lunch now, but needs must. then it's nap time, woo!

emblosion · 27/05/2012 11:44

Hi all

Huge congrats to warlin hope your DH is waiting on you hand and foot!

McKayz hope mini-Mckayz has woken up a bit, its so worrying when you don't feel anything for a while. Am sure everything will be ok, but always best to be on the safe side I guess.

I have a mini panic at least every couple of days even though I know there's a lot I don't feel cos of anterior placenta, DH tells me off for prodding bump to make him move!

Blondie glad you are ok and the party went well. :)

Kveta love the new thread title, hope you are feeling a bit more comfy today.

Am joining the insomnia club, fell asleep at about midnight, woke up 3 times to go to the loo, waking up finally at half 5, grr. I also feel as tho baby is wedged right under my ribs, ouch (any time bump wants to drop is fine by me!)

Have a good Sunday all, weather glorious again here!

emblosion · 27/05/2012 11:53

Kveta cross posted - v sorry to hear about your friends baby, what a shock for you all. Things like this just make you feel so helpless. He sounds like a little fighter and he'll be in my thoughts ((hug))

Hi everyone!

Booked in with the hospital now. Total non-event, which just goes to show how important it is to get past the stupid systems and idiots to the people who count.

Homebirth agreed even though not officially booked. Homebirth midwife coming on Wed to go through whatever she goes through. Seems nice on the phone. Finally attempting to write birth plan, though it is all in my head already.

Now to catch up with you all talkative birthing people!!!!!

MammaInTheMaking · 27/05/2012 12:40

That's very frightening news about your friend's baby kveta. Wishing them all the best for the little man.

Small I did get back to sleep eventually however the squidgy bed made my pelvis soooo sore this morning. The air con was lush though! Wedding was fantastic (DP was best man) and I had a lot of lovely comments on the bump. On the train home just now though a man got on (with filth all over his fingers) and he just stared at me and said "is it twins"? I'm normally so polite but I just stared blankly back at him and said No there is 1 baby in there. Then he started going on about how it can be 2 weeks late and trying to get us to tell it's name. I was so over all the chit chat I left it to DP to stick up for us and little baby and get shot of him. Urgh, he was rank Sad

Home now and chilling. Aaahhhhhh..... Grin

Warlin wonderful news about your bubs arriving safely. I hope you're having some nice rest now.

McK around 36 weeks my LO stopped moving nearly as much as usual. I was a bit worried too but it still has regular wiggles, but just a lot less forceful. Must just be a total lack of space in there now.

Goodness me, sausage fingers and sausage toes....I need a nap!

xx

StarlightMcKenzie · 27/05/2012 12:42

Oooh, Congratulations Warlin. Hope all is going well for you.

Sorry to hear about your friend Kveta.

TDW So pleased DH is home and is not going to miss a thing Grin.

I'm having regular strong BH every evening. They start at around 6pm and come every 7-9 minutes until 11pmish. Dunno what that means. Telling myself it means when I'm ready to go my body will have already done most of the work.

Tried to feel my cervix but it is FAR back and couldn't reach so probably nowhere near ready.

Kveta · 27/05/2012 12:45

final thread hopefully!

thanks emblosion we have no idea what the prognosis is just now, but it's shocking news obviously :(

justwantcheese · 27/05/2012 16:42

Surf you made me laugh about the hiccups pulsating right down there. It's not the best feeling in the world. Sometimes I think she is sat on a massive nerve that ends there.

rhihaf · 27/05/2012 22:29

Congratulations Warlin!!! How exciting!

Have been working in the garden and pretty flat out doing stuff about the place but nothing has happened yet... am 37 weeks today and ready for him to come out!

Have ECV on Thursday and then if it works seeing midwife the following Weds to write up birth plan. Anyone here had a waterbirth but in hospital?

Good luck to everyone else and let's all keep the ice lollies coming ;)

Shelduck · 28/05/2012 12:12

Hi everyone,
So, so sorry for long silence! Everything got a bit hectic for a while, and my brain and my body just couldn't keep up with everything I wanted to get done in my spare time. But I'm finally off work (raised BP forced me to start mat leave a week early last week), so I'm really looking forward to spending some time catching up with all your news. Have missed sharing your experiences and stories, and benefitting from your advice!

So anyway, that was just a quickie to say that I haven't fallen down a hole or anything. I'm still standing (just)! Hope you're all doing wonderfully.

xxx
