Morning.

Just marking my place.

surfmama · 27/04/2012 08:27

morning. i am here too. hello new thread. despite being achey and sleepless every pregnant day is a miracle x

10000fireflies · 27/04/2012 08:30

Morning all!!!

Fanbelt · 27/04/2012 08:48

Morning ladies, hope you all had a good night's sleep Wink.

I've been in absolute agony since doing a stupid amount of dashing about yesterday and can now hardly walk. Went to Mothercare to get measured for some nursing bras (and joined their mum & baby club to get £5 off), then traipsed round Ikea for an hour or so then went back to my old office for lunch and finally stopped off on my way home to pick up the car seat that I'm buying off a friend. Really paying for it now though and DH is really annoyed 'cos he keeps saying I need to slow down and I've just been ignoring him.

Anyway, plan for today is to make the birth announcement cards. Went to a lovely scrapbooking shop with some friends last Tuesday to get all the stuff and now I just need to make them up. Hopefully should be nice and relaxing and DH can't complain too much. Grin

DairyNips · 27/04/2012 09:00

Morning all, marking my place so I can find you. Slept terribly last night yaaaaawn..

CathFin · 27/04/2012 09:42

Morning! Just got half soaked taking DS to play school as it wasn't raining when I left but pouring down by the time we got there. Not amused. Will be equipped with the welly's and waterproof trousers at pick up time!

Smallwonder · 27/04/2012 10:04

Good morning all,
Hope the insomniac club had some sleep last night. I watched a movie until after 2, read a little and went up to bed very tired so did the trick -- hope I'm fortunate enough to have repeat scenario tonight.
Awww... Has Tea posted on FB? Would love to see update, is the group still public or can I join privately? Mayb someone can add me and link?

fanbelt sounds like a relaxing way to spend the day, hope u rest in the process.
cath typical! Quite right to hav the waterproofs to hand these days.
dairy sorry to hear that, hope u can grab a nap later
FF big wave!!!!
surfmama big wave too :o of the gesturing type!! :o
ssc and mckayz more waves, did u sleep better kayz?

Maybe someone can help. After my last dc births I suffered from a throbbing pain in my back from time to time where the epidural had gone in, nothing dramatic but a throbbing sensation, lasted weeks on and off. Over last 2 days that throbbing has returned, again nothing dramatic but there nonetheless. TMI but noticing a lot of watery discharge and feel quite sore down there, swollen/tender. Don't remember if that's the norm. What do u think?

Have heaps to do but don hav the energy. Onwards and upwards ...

emblosion · 27/04/2012 10:22

Morning all, just marking my place too. Thanks for all the congrats, enjoying married life so far, lol!

Starting to panic slightly about getting all baby stuff sorted, I'd left most things til after the wedding and now I don't know where to start! Can anyone suggest a good place to get new Moses basket mattresses?

I suddenly feel a bit 'omg this is really happenning'!

thedogwalker · 27/04/2012 10:24

Good morning all.
Warlin, Totally with you on the emotional front, I can cry at anything and have been doing on a regular basis. Good job I'm no longer working or I'd be crying all the time in the office.

Hope everyone has a good day xx

SpecialJK · 27/04/2012 10:28

morning all - Smile waves to everyone!

I'm still taken aback by Tea's LO. me and DH are quite amazed that I have something that looks like that inside of me, can't quite get our heads around it. I'm 31+6 today, so only really 2 days behind where Tea was.

small not sure about the discharge, but I feel swollen down there too, feel it most when I sit on loo, not painful though. When's your next MW appnt? could you ask then?
fan remember to take it easy. Sounds a lovely idea on how to make the cards. wish I was that creative.
ssc love the thread name - thanks for setting up

Exciting weekend planned, HUGE boots shop for nappies etc and also picking up my pram and car seat stuff! Involves a drive down to Southampton/Bournemouth but my friend is coming. DH is away to the army/navy rugby to get drunk pretty much all day, so I'm staying at my friends on Sat night so I don't have his beer breath on me Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 27/04/2012 10:34

Special i'm also completely blown away by the photo tea posted on FB. I still imagine my baby at 34+1 as an alien (!!) not a baby as beautiful and perfect as tea's. I couldn't stop saying to DP last night that we have 2 weeks on baby tea yet look at him, he's a BABY!! DP prob thought i was being completely nutty but i'm still struggling with the idea that this could all happen right now and be fine.

I saw my midwife yesterday and baby's 4/5 engaged but back to back. That was enough to surprise me that it's sitting in there super ready to come out. yiiiiiikkkkkeeeesssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!! Confused

Kveta · 27/04/2012 10:40

Hi all. Just message me or dairy to get added to the fb group!

I am sitting in sains cafe now having nearly passed out at the till. Staff are being lovely and making sure I stay still for a wee while! Makes me think I may be overdoing it a bit.

Got some wee baby gros anyway, so sorted for hospital I think. Just need to find a cab home now, as need to come back into town and collect the car later, poor thing is in for a service, think it'll be a pricey one too.

Right, better move!

blondiedollface · 27/04/2012 11:07

Marking my place! Love the new thread name SSC :)

Like everyone else DH and I are just marvelling at how BabyTea is an actual real baby, the discussions we have about what she'll look like are hilarious and usually end with both of us in fits! As he is blonde and blue-eyed and I am blonde and green-eyed the only thing we don't really know is what colour her eyes will be.. Getting so excited, just can't wait to meet her!

I hope Tea is enjoying those amazing first couple of days and I'm sure with how healthy and strong he looks BabyTea will be home in no time at all :)

A massive squee to you all, please take care those of you who are still going at road-runner pace, this is time to slow the pace!

Waves to everyone Xx

10000fireflies · 27/04/2012 11:09

Toot-toot - all aboard the Jubilee Express!! Tickets please!! (sorry, just preparing for parent-hood.) Loving the name SSC, thanks for setting up.

Sigining in for the tired and emotional club!! Grin Thought I'd got away with avoiding tears/weepiness, but found myself blubbing to a really upbeat song earlier on the radio. (Actually, a lot of s**t in FF household here to deal with as house crumbling around ears so giving self a break.)

Blondie did you have a nice time celebrating anniversay
Emblosion how was your wedding? Hope it was magical. Don't panic re baby stuff!! You have plenty of time. John Lewis did a Moses basket for £35 a while back. They do a stroller suitable from birth for £79 too which am thinking of getting as back up as no pram yet. Also, baby-bay co-sleeper cot can be bought for £100 less direct from manufacturer than NCT. Came v quickly and is lovely
Surf like your thinking. You're right, every pregant day is a miracle.
fan impressed by cards. Friends/rellies will be getting emails and that's it!!
special enjoy your marathon weekend to -scumtown- Soton/Bmth. Don't tire yourself out!!
small I'd phone your MW and discuss worries.
Kveta hope you are ok now?

I am soooo not ready to have this little one. Like many of you, struggling with tiredness now and so frustrated at not getting as much done as would like before LO arrives. Six weeks tomorrow....Managed to avoid insomnia club last night. Thank goodness. Not sure how.

I was watching some little boys yesterday having a lovely time puddle jumping with their Mummy. Good to see some people appreciate the weather. Pissing well pissing down again here.

Saw stoopid MW yesterday am and ended up having a crap day as a result. Was far too prodded around by her student learning how to feel where baby was. Bloody hurt what with her and MW having a good munge. Then found have high levels of glucose and protein in urine so worried all rest of day as feet swelled a bit/felt generally unwell. Feeling better today though. Right, hopping off at next stop to down some Gaviscon. How can two slices of toast be such an issue?

Have a good day everyone. FF xx

Warlin · 27/04/2012 12:16

Just realised you have all moved!! I thought everyone was being uncharacteristically quiet today!!

Wrote this earlier but have pasted it into this thread to save me repeating myself! Hard to believe it's time for another thread :)

kveta I'm having a total reality check now too! Cried my eyes out when I saw baby Thomas Parkes...DH looked at my with total confusion and asked aren't you happy for her?". Hormones are all over the place and it makes it so real that we have one of those in our stomachs and that they are def coming!! I can't stop thinking about it and now makes me realise I have to hurry up and get sorted.

I am so delighted that Babytea is here...it's just so surreal . Think I was assuming that I had still had 7 weeks now and now it could be weeks, days or even hours......arggghhhhhh.....exciting yet scary!

Had a couple of friends round last night and one had her 16 week baby girl with her. She is such a good baby which was giving me hope and our dog just lay beside her on the rug fascinated by her but being really gentle....it was so cute to watch. Reassured now that she will be great with our newborn when he arrives.

It's Friday.....!! I have a work formal tonight which I really don't want to go to but it's a charity thing and would look bad if I didn't On the plus side going to leave work early to get home and get sorted. Then 4 more working weeks......

Is anyone else feeling very emotional these days...I seem to cry at anything?

Waves to everyone I haven't mentioned....have read all the posts but my head is a bit all over the place today

Warlin · 27/04/2012 12:29

kveta jsut saw your post....hope you're ok? Have you felt faint before? Must admit I felt faint driving the other day and it's quite scary.

MW told me the other day that my sugar levels in urine were wuite high so I'm a bit paranoid about that...I had just eaten a sandwich and a whole bag of percy pigs on the way there which may have had something to do with it Grin

small I am swollen and tender down there too...and getting loads of watery discharge (TMI I know!) MyMW said it was normal. The swelling is caused because baby's head is low and putting pressure on it with the weight..and the discharge is the mucus plug coming away which happens after about 30 weeks....lovely!! :)

More TMI request....is anyone else still active in the bedroom? Am I the only one who could think of nothing worse?? Tiredness combined with sensitivity, swelling and immobility doesn't make for much romance! Feel bad for Dh though as it will only get worse!

McKayz · 27/04/2012 12:48

Kveta hope you're ok

Warlin Still very active here Blush I can not get enough at the minute. My poor DH is knackered. I don't know if it's because he's going away again soon or because I'm carrying a girl because I hated it when pregnant with the boys.

Small I did sleep better last night thanks. Still feel shattered now though.

ceeej · 27/04/2012 13:04

kveta hope a bit of a sit down has helped and you've made it home OK

Totally in the emotional club, I don't think there's a single TV programme that doesn't make me cry at the moment!

I'm also stunned that babytea is such a perfectly formed baby with hair and everything, still can't really comprehend that I have one of those inside me. DH has also taken up pointing out every baby that we see and asking how old I think they are as he hasn't a clue, it's quite cute :)

Warlin We were still fairly active but I've been experiencing a lot of pelvic discomfort in the past few weeks which has pretty much ruled it out. Annoyingly when I did feel up for it the other evening he ended up staying late in the pub after work so I was asleep by the time he came home. Next time I'll be making my intentions much clearer!

FF sorry you got excessively prodded, they do have to push quite hard to work it out don't they, I felt a bit bruised after just one MW trying to establish position.

emblosion huge congrats on the wedding and don't panic about the stuff, I'm sure as soon as you get going on it you'll feel much calmer. A week ago we had only the babygro I bought after 20 week scan and a couple of cardis my gran knitted. I've been working through the research and placing orders and now have a babybay, car seat and stroller piled up in the living room for DH to sort out this weekend. It all accumulates quite quickly once you get going on it and searching MN is fantastic for advice on what/which version of things to get. I just wrote a list in priority order and started at the top.

small throbbing sounds uncomfortable, probably best to check with the midwife although sounds like it may be another of those unpleasant things we have to deal with over the next few weeks.

Fanbelt your cards plan sounds awesome and nicely relaxing, it is so hard to slow down, hopefully some crafting will help.

Right I'm off out for a walk along the Thames path with a friend who is currently job hunting. The sun seems to have come out momentarily but I'm planning on taking full waterproofs with me just in case.

CathFin · 27/04/2012 13:32

Warlin - I'm also not very keen on any bedroom activity. Combination of tiredness, discomfort and having 2 DC just about puts paid to any opportunity. Plus even if I did vaguely fancy it quite often DH has cracked open a beer and as that is one smell I can't stomach any idea I had goes out the window!

I know its not ideal to have baby tea arrive so early but I'm a bit jealous - he does look too cute so I hope everything is going well!

Kveta · 27/04/2012 13:41

hi, I am fine now - just was doing too much! got a cab home from a lovely cabbie who has been working for Jamie Oliver for the past fortnight, so I was grilling him for info, as I love JO recipes, and think he seems like a thoroughly decent bloke! so that was interesting! apparently there is a new series coming out soon, called 15 minute meals Shock so half the time his last recipes took! can't wait :o

had a nice lie down when I got home, and am now getting some washing done, and waiting to hear from the sodding garage. need the car in the next 30 minutes, or I have to walk to the CMs to get DS, and I cannot be arsed am not sure that's a good idea.

got my hospital bag more packed now too - 3 fudge bars being the most important items, of course :o plus batteries for the TENS, and some clothes for baby. It's all getting very real.

justwantcheese · 27/04/2012 14:01

Hi all, sorry to hear that some of you are suffering with the insomnia, dizziness and swollen sore bits. I think the next few weeks are going to be fairly hard on us as the big countdown starts. the birth of baby tea has made it really real for me and the idea it could happen any day to anyone of us makes it even more so! feeling a bit emotional at the moment, so excited about our new babies but also keep thinking about childcare costs after. I know I am being ridiculous_- everyone else seems to manage. well 9 more working days left and 40 days to the big event. take it easy everyone ,relax and have another slice of cake x

SarahBumBarer · 27/04/2012 17:04

Hi all - I have not checked in for ages and ages but thought I would see how eeryone was doing since babies may start to arrive soon and was shocked to see it has already begun! Especially since I am/was due on the same date as Tea

Congratulations Tea

Hope everyone is doing well and is more organised than me. I am trying to catch up with everyone and actually start to think about the fact that I am having a baby soon.

gwenniebee · 27/04/2012 17:04

Hello everybody... we're on board a train with seats for all - how fab!!

I'm 1 down 5 to go in the working weeks left department: hoorah.

Our kitchen ceiling based water feature has been sorted by the emergency call out man, but in moving things out of the way my DH discovered that all the beautiful apple chutney I made and stored with lovely wax discs and tightly covered celophane lids had been eaten by mice :( We put it in the roof space above the kitchen as the kitchen is so small there was no storage which in retrospect was a bit stupid I suppose but I could have cried when I got DH's text! No use crying over eaten chutney, I suppose.

warlin I always feel guilty as I'm not terribly wild in that dept at the best of times but I'm feeling really guilty at the moment! Can't be doing with DH doing any more that listening to see if he can hear the baby's HB - that's as sexy as it gets!

kveta hope you are feeling better! Glad you had a Positive Cabbie Experience though!

fanbelt love your cards idea... the most I've done is to "panic buy" stamps :) Although I must say doing cards is the one thing I feel a bit funny about doing before the baby arrives.... don't know why! All the other superstition type things I pooh-pooh so silly to feel funny about this.

Right - off to have an ogle at babytea on fb! Then to pack my bag for a family party this weekend bloody miles away and I wish we'd declined the invite which will be lovely.

ellybett · 27/04/2012 17:47

Thanks for the new thread ssc, fab name. It's all so real now isn't it! To see babytea looking so perfect made me a blubbering mess yesterday!

Sympathies to the insomnia club. I'm not too bad apart from hourly wakings to negotiate turning over as well as dealing with dd's sleep tantrums (as if the one's when she's awake for them aren't bad enough!) Am definitely in tired and emotional club, potty training + hormones are a terrible combination!

emblosion huge congratulations on your wedding. Don't stress about 'stuff', I went far too ott with dd1 and am getting buy with bare minimum. Kiddicare has a cheap and cheerful moses basket.

small I hope you can get away with no more transfusions. Sounds awful.

kveta hope you're feeling better.

fireflies huge sympathies with the house thing, in the same situation. If it doesn't rain it poors! Am really working on keeping things in perspective at the mo!

gwennie What a sweetie your dh is!

ok, that's as much as I've been able to retain in my useless brain, apologies to those I've missed - .

Well, from saying initially I'd work until my due date I've now decided to take all my leave instead of using it at the end, so 2 more weeks for me. I am just useless at work at the moment!

bemybebe · 27/04/2012 18:36

marking my spot before running out
regarding the fb - i do have it, but i need to work out how to modify security settings to join the group - what is the name of it kveta and should I apply to be invited?
