Oh Blondie how absolutely crap! Thinking of you x

emblosion · 23/05/2012 19:46

Blondie thinking of you, hang in there, really hope you are ok. X

thedogwalker · 23/05/2012 20:54

Hi all
Been absent due to no internet and I dislike MN on my blackberry but left with no choice.
Blondie hope all is ok.
Fanbelt wow hope you're now enjoying some wonderful cuddles with your LO. Thinking of you.
kveta welcome to maternity leave, you couldn't have picked a better week.
Dairy sorry to hear about MIL, hope the tests give positive news.
Special any news on the LO turning? Hope so.
Sorry but that's all my brain has managed to retain. MW. appointment today. LO average size, head down but not yet engaged. I'm in no rush, still got 18 days til d day. Hope everyone is welln take care xx

Kveta · 23/05/2012 21:02

Blondie hope everything goes ok, sending positive, quick and pain free labour, vibes your way!

Fanbelt hope you are cuddling your newborn now!

too hot today, am scottish, don't cope with temperatures above about 15 degrees. DS spent the day stripping off and galloping about the garden. He's gone to bed in his big boy bed for the first time tonight, and is so excited about it. I am about to go to bed too, this late pg thing is bizarrely exhausting, in a way no amount of rest seems to cure.

hope everyone gets some rest!

Smallwonder · 23/05/2012 21:39

blondie under current circumstances think that's the best scenario it's not great but better than the worry that will no doubt manifest from being home with all the niggles as others have said, we need to know how you are of course, please give DH a quick lesson is MN updates :) all the best sweetheart x
You'll be great.
ffnorm you're right. DS1 loves chores, I'm not kidding - he asks to help bless him but alas is not here. I said to Ds3 please help with the plates and he said 'so sorry mummy doing that gives me hiccups' and skipped away Hmm I think I went back and forth trying not to get irritable at the small chores that would usually be done in under 10 minutes. Oh well.
cathfin sounds like a busy but good day, glad I'm not alone -- everything is so tiresome.
kveta hope he loves the new bed bless him. Have a good nights rest. No point in me even contemplating the bed till at least midnight.
tdw that's not long and I think it's great that you're doing the whole PG thing literally alone with DS too, but hey won't be long now till you're a family again Grin hat off to u

Basin of cold water with 2 puffy legs in helped enough to get me to the shop for some callipos -- essential for this weather I think :) am going to invest in a cheap fan in the morning, for someone who has spent good time in the Middle East I don't do heat very well at all! Then off to visit friends, need some adult chat badly!

Movie and icy drinks with DH now, can't wait to have a LO snuggled over my shoulder soon... Jubilee babies are a coming!

DairyNips · 23/05/2012 21:50

blondie Sorry you're having such a time of it againSad sounds like you're in the right place though. Best for the midwives to be over cautious. Let's hope baby makes an appearance soon and you can get off this rollercoaster and enjoy newborn snugglesSmile

10000fireflies · 23/05/2012 22:43

Thinking of you Blondie. Hope all goes well.

PinkPanther27 · 23/05/2012 22:47

Hi all
Blondie sorry to hear that you're having issues again but sounds like you've got a good midwife there who is doing her best for you. I'm sure it wont be much longer.
Fanbelt hope all went well today and you are enjoying your newborn.
Cathfin I've just started getting headaches too and been drinking loads. Just keep an eye on your blood pressure and any swelling.
Warlin how is your dog?
Small sorry you've been feeling down. I have been looking at all the girls wandering round in tiny jeans and tops and wondering if I'll ever be that size again. I tend to slob around in my jeans at home then wear a maxi dress if I'm off out. Hope you're feeling a bit better now.
Well after what turned out to be a false alarm this morning I have had a v productive day. I have finished packing my hospital bags and download 2 playlists for the birth onto the ipod and charged it up, cleaned the pushchair i will be using and the spare one and listed that on ebay, ironed all the baby clothes and done the washing, and tidied up the nursery and our room where the moses basket is going, then had a long nap. Theres nothing like thinking you're going into labour to get you motivated :0

PinkPanther27 · 23/05/2012 22:47

:o

ceeej · 23/05/2012 23:12

Fanbelt hope you're enjoying your new arrival, looking forward to an update

Blondie your body seems determined to put you through an awful lot of worry getting this baby out, will be thinking of you and hoping everything proceeds smoothly for you soon

Pink you made me feel tired just reading all the things you've done today Grin must feel nice to know you're sorted now. I think I have everything I need for a hospital bag now, just lacking the motivation to actually put it into a bag!

TeaandHobnobs · 23/05/2012 23:43

Poor Blondie how horrible. Keep strong and hopefully BabyBlondie will be here in no time. And def steal DH's phone! A phone with Internet is an absolute must on the ward IMO Grin

Waiting for news from Fanbelt!

Smallwonder · 24/05/2012 00:15

Good to see u Pink, Ceej and Tea. Smile

Just posted a MSG. My feet/ankles are swelling terribly. Anyone else? Is it the heat? I'm not too worried as all else is ok but feel like Oompa Loompa meets Frodo, not particularly attractive Hmm

MammaInTheMaking · 24/05/2012 07:10

I'm swelling too small. Not done so at all, all pregnancy but now my hands and feet are terribly swollen. Have finally prized my engagement ring off my finger this morning with some fairy liquid-am feeling a bit sad I'm not wearing it... Sad But am also v positive as 38 weeks today and last night I managed to hand express a few drops from my left boob!!!

Waiting for news on BabyFan, very much hope everything has gone plain sailing.

thedogwalker · 24/05/2012 07:12

Just had an awful hour, panicking. Slept all night, then awoke to think why haven't I felt LO move at all. Got up had lots of cold water to drink, ate chocolate, nothing. Been jigging around the bedroom, trying wo wake up LO. Nothing. Lots of tears, wondering why my very active LO isn't responding. Sat down, crying, then got a big kick. He's still a bit shy this morning and not as active as normal but at least he is now moving. I was so scared. Can't wait for him to come now, don't want anymore frights like that. Sorry for crappy post, just had to get it off my chest as have been crying alone. Can now go and get cuddles from DS1 who has been happily playing in his cot for over an hour.

ffnorm · 24/05/2012 08:16

TDW sending you a big hug!

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/05/2012 08:36

TDW sorry to hear about your fright. Glad you're reassured.

Fanbelt Hope all went well.

Hope everything is okay blondie

Well I had a back to back baby for weeks, and then he turned 5 days ago - yay - but this morning he turned back to back again Hmm Silly baby.

SpecialJK · 24/05/2012 08:41

Hi tdw hope everything is still ok. sorry your LO gave you a scare this morning. DH will be back this weekend won't he? he might have moved with his back to your belly, so you won't feel as much. Just keep an eye on it, and call midwife if you feel he's still not moving enough. I'm sure everything is fine

With regards to turning, not yet! Im assuming I'll feel kicks in my ribs when that happens. Got another chiropractor session today. I've got a really sore pubic bone and hips really starting to feel sore and crack when I turn over. Feels like everything is shifting. I'm hoping that maybe my pelvis just hadn't had enough relaxin yet and if it's opening up now, that will give enough room for LO to move.

bemybebe they won't do ECV because of my previous operation and the fibrioids that are still there. I don't think I would have done one anyway.

I reckon I still have 10-14 days. Although midwife was very downbeat yesterday. I'm only 35+5 today, so I've heard babies can definitely still move after that.

Hope blondie you're doing alright, and can assume fan is now a mummy!

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/05/2012 08:52

Yep. I'm almost 38 weeks and baby shifting all over the place.

Well, I finally get my 'booking in' appointment tomorrow. And then they want to do my 'homebirth assessment' next Friday Hmm.

I asked what happened if I went into labour before that. They told me to call triage at that point who would go through my options. I had to point out that as far as I was concerned my 'options' included the homebirth I was having.

The midwife then explained that I wouldn't have had the assessment though.
I asked her what exactly the assessment involved that would discount a homebirth for not having had it.

She said it was to go through the 'risks' of homebirth to make sure I knew them.

FFs! I mean, she was nice enough, but no-one ever insisted I had an assessment/talk to go through the 'risks' of a hospital birth to ensure I understood before I had my other two. Like being 4 times more likely to have to have an emergency c/s for example.

Kveta · 24/05/2012 09:08

Oh poor you tdw. Glad he moved, mine keeps on having silent periods too, think they know how to wind us up already! Not long now until your Dh.is home and can help out with scares in person.

No sleep again here, off to mw in a wee minute, then home to rest I think. Ds looks like he's got another ear infection, poor thing. Not sure we can be arsed with the 2 hrs wait at the gp surgery for a same day appt though, idiotic.new system.

So sick of no sleep. Constant nausea, peřiny, etc. Grr.

Kveta · 24/05/2012 09:09

That should be peeing...

Warlin · 24/05/2012 09:18

starlight that's ridiculous, hope you get sorted tomorrow though

blondie so sorry you're having a rough time but if they are admitting you then babieblondie will be here very soon I'm sure Grin. You deserve an easy birth after all that!

fan don't keep us in suspence...think some newborn baby picks will make everyone's day!

TDW my LO goes silent for long periods too, think they just don't have much room now!

pick my dog is much better thanks for asking. I had hoped she would realise I was pregnant and go easy on me but she is still demanding endless walks and games in the garden which I'm finding totally exhausting. She took off after rabbits last night and I was doing my best to race after her....a young whippet like labrador vs a fat, massively overheating and very frustrated pregnant woman...what I sight it must have been Grin

I'm finding the heat too much as well. The office is like a sauna and I only have wintery work clothes...not feeling confident in t-shirts these days, unless there's a big baggy cardigan over the top! 2 more days to go though!! Roll on!

Waves to everyone else

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/05/2012 10:02

Ah well.

Anyone know where I can get a TENS quickly.

I went into boots yesterday but their system seems to be a bit uneccesarily complicated.

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/05/2012 10:02

To hire I mean.

McKayz · 24/05/2012 10:50

Quick post. Had 36 week appt this morning. All fine except I haven't grown in 2 weeks. It's very strange to me as 2 weeks I was 37cm and I am still 37cm. MW says its probably nothing to worry about but I have my growth scan tomorrow.

But baby is head down finally and no long back to back. Her head is hovering above my pelvis and MW is happy with that.

Will be back later to catch up

ceeej · 24/05/2012 11:11

Waves back at small, I'm also having fairly extensive swelling and the heat isn't helping, yesterday the only pair of shoes I could fit on my feet were flip flops.

So sorry LO gave you a fright tdw, hope you're feeling a bit better now

starlight that's mad, fingers crossed your LO turns back round and stays in until they've had time to do all their box ticking! My midwives recommended www.babycaretens.com for hire but I've not actually sorted mine yet so no idea how quick they are, probably ought to get on with it too.

kveta sorry to hear you're struggling with lack of sleep, hope you manage to get a decent amount of nap time during the day.

Warlin I suddenly feel terribly round, can't imagine how much of a pain it must be to try and look smart with this much bump. Yay for only 2 more days left though Grin

MW appointment this morning found that baby's head is completely engaged which apparently explains the stabbing pains I've started getting down the inside of my right thigh whilst walking, she's probably squashing a nerve. Have been instructed to keep my feet up as much as possible to try and ease the swelling and as I'm 37 weeks tomorrow I think I'll be issuing an eviction notice, quite happy for her to put in an appearance as soon as she likes.
