McKayz · 27/04/2012 18:43

bebe No one can see you have joined the group. It is private so only members can see it.

Kveta · 27/04/2012 18:53

hey, regarding the group, you need to friend me or Dairy, and we can then add you to the group. It is secret, so nobody can see it unless they are in it, and you can only join if you know the secret handshake if invited by one of us!

so just send me or Dairy a PM on here and we'll sort you out

Warlin it might be an idea to report your post earlier to MNHQ and get the name of Tea's baby edited out - some folk don't want their child's name on MN. Hope you have a good night this evening, I don't know how you're managing with work at the moment, I'm half dead by wednesday, so b friday night I'm utterly useless!!

bedroom activity has all but ceased here, sadly. One or both of us is too knackered every time we get the chance. It took us about 4 or 5 months to get back to it after DS was born, so I'm not looking forward to the next few months in that respect!! Sadly having a toddler appear in our room at 5.30 every morning has prevented any morning fun too.

right, must do something productive then sit down and watch crap on television all evening, yay!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 27/04/2012 19:35

Evening all!

Glad to see everyone's settling in on the new thread!

So, went for a growth scan today - all well on that front with MiniCheddar weighing in at 2076g (think that's about 4lb 9oz if my maths worked) at 32+3.

In other news, he is also now breech - which I knew before the scan as he did something exceedingly squishy and weird at 1.30am so I knew he'd turned; could also feel his head under my ribs when I got up. Quite uncomfortable now, but I'm sure he'll turn - plenty of time. I'll head over to Spinning Babies just in case though, to get some hints and tips in case he doesn't make a move himself!

Hope everyone's having a good evening!

I had some measurements taken yesterday and mine is 1830g at 31+6 ssc, bang in the middle or just below for weight, which is a bit of a loss, because she was growing ahead up until now... Confused something else was "not quite as we like to see it", but "nothing to worry about just yet" and "come back in two weeks" was another message. oh, well... "see ya in two weeks" then!

Smallwonder · 27/04/2012 21:18

Evening all,
Kveta Hope you're well and rested now.
DH is out for the night, DC are in bed and just me and the noise of the utilities and what appears to be crap TV lined up, cue iplayer for some repeats, a bit of reading and games would say couch potato-ing but the only comfy hot spot downstairs is my granny chair, it's a God send!
Can I also admit to being OTT on the emotional front? I'm feeling a bit of a failure at the moment. I'm used to being a very hands on, full time SAHM who HE's her DC but am currently struggling to cover a full day with them and there's been a little too much computer/activity time and not much outdoor stuff and exercise. I suppose we set certain standards for ourselves and our families and it's hard to accept anything less. Hmm Hmm

Ceej Bet the Thames walk was lovely today.
SSC I love the way you always sound so upbeat! :o
bebe I was mrs paranoia about the FB page, but have just sent Kveta my plea for approval :) I haven't told many people in FB world (mainly relatives and old school friends) about this PG so didn't want anyone knowing until announced with message and photo.
ellybett Nice to see you, how old is DD, can't remember!
Gwennie sorry to hear about your chutney!!! Shock What a waste!
Good to see Sarah and others who hadn't posted in a while, hi to all.

Thanks for all the advice earlier, it has stopped but am still quite sore, am sure as has been said, just part of the run up to LO's arrival and relieved to know am not alone in PG sore bits!

AmethystMoon · 27/04/2012 22:01

Evening all

Thanks for the new thread SSC great name :)

I'm a bit behind as been busy at work but have just read all the new posts.

Congratulations Emblosion I hope you are enjoying married life :)

Small I have got an icandy cherry as it is nice and compact.

Tea congratulations on little tea he is gorgeous and like many of the others I just can't fathom that I have one like that in my tummy right now...eeek! So exciting Grin

Rachyroodle I hope your NCT goes well, you're near me in Fareham, I'm nealry finished my NCT course in Havant. I live in Horndean so it was my nearest. One of my NCT ladies has also had a call from her HV, just to meet up before the birth to day hello.

McKayz our NCT teacher told us to sit forward lots and not lounge around leaning backwards into squishy sofas to help avoid back to back, also sitting forwards, legs akimbo and bouncing on a gym ball is good for moving a back to back baby, so she says!

Cathfin thanks for the info about the Tens hire from Boots :)

Went swimming to do my physio excercises today...it was so lovely to feel weightless Grin

Also have boxed up all the baby clothes I have been given by size and put everything over 3 months in the loft (so I can move in the spare room again).

Serious efforts now being made on hospital bag (well four bags to be exact so far!) Gosh maternity pads, nappies, plus towel, plus nighties and dressing gowns take up so much room!

Kveta hope you're feeling less faint now, hope you're not developing my problem. I'm stillnot allowed to drive and still regularly dizzy. Hope yours is a one off.

Oh and just checked with the aid of a mirror...swollen bits here too Blush

Smallwonder · 27/04/2012 22:23

Thanks Kveta, now on group and had a good old nosey quick peek at everyone :o Still can't work out who a few of us are, and others are obvious, it's great that the group is there, we'll have so much to share no doubt in coming months!
Have great weekends all. And a big hobnob and tea for you know who!!!! :o

Fanbelt · 27/04/2012 22:36

Had a much more restful day today. Made a good start on my cards - really hope this baby comes out pink (as we have been assured it will) otherwise they will look a bit strange as they are all pink and butterflies Grin. I wasn't nearly as organised with DCs 1&2 as they both came early and we were in hospital for ages. Went out and bought a load of stamps today too before the prices rise on Monday.

Gwennie sorry to hear about your water feature/chutney disaster.

Warlin my sex drive has gone through the roof since start of 2nd trimester - really trying to make the most of it 'cos usually it's DH who's the enthusiastic one and I take a bit of warming up Blush. Am also wondering if it's 'cos we're expecting a girl - I definitely don't remember being like this with DS 1&2. Also am very keen to try and keep up the momentum after LO is born (probably, almost certainly wishful thinking!) so am planning on booting her out of our bedroom as quickly as possible (although as I'm also planning on breastfeeding, this probably won't happen in reality for at least the first 5-6 months).

Big thanks to Tea for posting the FB piccie of gorgeous baby Thomas and instigating the "we are actually going to have another real-live baby" reality-check Grin. Feels very weird to think that after 6.5 years of us being a close-knit family of four we'll be welcoming a newcomer. Can't help wondering how she's going to fit in, but my two boys are getting more and more excited about it so hopefully should be fine.

Picked up the fabric I ordered to make the curtain for Baby's room today and realised I gave them completely the wrong measurements and there isn't nearly enough. Rather annoyed with myself so will have to order some more and use what I've got to make cushions or something.

Off to glug some Gaviscon now, heartburn coming on a treat...

blondiedollface · 27/04/2012 22:59

Well what a day!

First off, DH and I had a lovely anniversary and my surprise was a beautiful Sapphire and Diamond necklace... (Thanking my lucky stars he has no idea 1st anniversary is paper) Grin

But this morning at about 6am I woke up with a start as I could feel LO really pushing down and the worst cramping period type pain I can remember. Thought it must just have been her moving down a little more and didn't think anything more of it... I had cramps all morning but presumed because we ate out last night it must have been something to do with that, especially as DH had a funny tummy first thing this morning. By lunch time I was crying with the pain and it was much stronger and frequent than it had been so I called my Day Assessment Unit and they said to go straight in..

I'm fully engaged (at MW appt last Thurs was not engaged) which they said had caused my uterus to start contracting and had been having contractions all morning! My cervix hasn't thinned and is still fully closed and by about 8pm the contractions subsided so I've been sent home and ordered on bed rest with feet higher than pelvis to let gravity do it's thing, but to go back into hospital at the first sign of any waters/cramping!!

I'm a bit in shock and although the Dr said it's extremely normal to get a few contractions if baby descends suddenly I feel a bit unsettled by it all!

So I imagine I'll be MNing my heart out whilst in bed over the next few weeks! Also no more bedroom activity here Drs orders (TMI) up until now it's been fab, poor DH! I too am swollen down there, looked once in a mirror and vowed not to again until LO is here!

I hope everyone else is well and taking it easy - and enjoy your weekends!

Fanbelt · 27/04/2012 23:53

Wow Blondie, that does sound a bit scary and not surprised you're in shock. Hope everything settles down for you - putting your feet up sounds like a very good idea! And what a lovely present from your DH - I'm glad you at least had a nice anniversary.

ceeej · 28/04/2012 00:12

blondie how scary, I had no idea that could happen! Hope you have plenty to keep you entertained during your bed rest and fingers crossed gravity pushes your LO a bit higher soon.

Fanbelt · 28/04/2012 04:21

I think I somehow knew I wasn't going to get a good night's sleep before I went to bed just after midnight - read until 1-ish then tried to sleep until 2-ish, probably dozed off for half an hour and then woke up at 3:30am and that's been it Sad. A combination of back ache, leg cramps, heartburn (and I've run out of bloody Gaviscon), feeling hungry and sick at the same time. So I've given up and come downstairs - made myself some hot chocolate and a hottie bottie for my back and come on MN to have a moan!

Hopefully no-one else is up and having horrible insomnia but if you are - hello! [waves].

HorseyGirl1 · 28/04/2012 05:11

Hi, just quick shout to say keeping well. But obv like everyone else having wide awake moments during the night, like now. Just enjoying dawn chorus (there's a blackbird really going nuts at moment!) but expect to be enjoying a different kind of dawn chorus over next few weeks! Can't wait though, it will be brilliant having a summer baby. We have got most of our bits and pieces now but still need to get a changing bag. We got a plain black and silver pram combo so think I'll treat myself to a nice colourful one for a bit of fun. Hope everyone else is doing OK (especially Blondie at mo) you sort of forget that we need to take things easier now just when you realise how much you still want to do. Right off for a Weetabix then back to bed. xx

SpecialJK · 28/04/2012 06:08

Morning all. Woke up 5.30, now seem to be wide awake. Got some lovely flowers from dh yesterday and we went to cinema to see avengers. LO was very jumpy when all the action scenes were going on! My friend has pulled out of helping me shop today, so now I don't know what to do......

10000fireflies · 28/04/2012 08:20

fan - how are you doing?

special that's areal shame. Hope you find a plan B.

Last NCT class for us today.

Laters all

10000fireflies · 28/04/2012 08:21

Oh, and blondie how are you?

AmethystMoon · 28/04/2012 09:10

Morning all

Well it's certainly a rubbish grey and rainy day here :(

Blondie wow - what a shock! I hope you're resting and that baby doesn't make an appearance just yet! I had no idea they could engage that quickly, you've obviously got a lively one in there :) For a minute I thought you were about to tell us you are next after Tea earlier this week Shock At least you got to enjoy your anniversary before it happened and what a gorgeous present form your DH...lucky girl :)

Fan I hope you're feeling abit better now, sickness and heartburn together is just horrible :(

Parents arriving for the weekend at lunchtime so major tidying to do, hoping my Dad will walk the dog for me Grin and that my Mum will take me food shopping. DP is at work all day and with no driving I am a bit stuck if not...and they will go hungry Grin

We were meant ot be going to the Boat Jumble at Beaulieu on Sunday to raise some money by selling off lots of our boat stuff, but they called last night to say it has been cancelled due to the horrendous rain forecast. At least they're refunding our money we'd paid for our pitch. It's fee free listing on ebay this weekend so it's all going on there instead!

Right must drag increasingly heavy bulk towards the shower..just scared the postman in my dressing gown which no longer really fits Blush

Have lovely weekends everyone...hopefully drama free for all of us.

blondiedollface · 28/04/2012 11:02

Fan, Ceeej, Horsey, FF and Amethyst Thank you ladies for your kind words!

I think perhaps due to the worry, stress and overall exertion of yesterday's adventure I slept better than I have done in months and only woke up once to pee at 5am! Got brought breakfast in bed this morning and am now feet up (feeling very foolish) watching Saturday Morning Kitchen Grin All twinges seem to have settled, fingers crossed LO will stay put and not give mummy and daddy any more scares!

Amethyst It was lovely to enjoy our anniversary and I am indeed a very lucky girl, the necklace matches my engagement ring and is just such a beautiful piece of jewellery! Hope you have a lovely weekend with your parents and the dog gets walked for you!

Fan I have found that having a glass of milk before bed really helps my heartburn and I don't wake up feeling quite as sick when I do :)

Special Hope you find someone to go shopping with you.. Was Avengers good? DH wants to see it but isn't sure it's going to live up to expectations!

Happy Saturday everyone I hope it's a bit brighter and drier where you all are :)

ChateauMargot · 28/04/2012 12:37

Good grief, blondie - that sounded very close for a moment there! Hope you're enjoying the rest and that the LO stays put for a while longer.

Fan, I was up when you posted, too (though not logged on, alas). Same symptoms exactly, minus the heartburn. Woke every half hour between midnight and 5... argh!

Happy weekend, all!

DairyNips · 28/04/2012 13:18

blondie must have been a bit scary for you. Glad all twinges have settled and you're taking it easy nowSmile

I now have item number 2 for my labour bag, sil had a baby about 8 weeks ago and had some maternity pads left over, 2 packs!

Off to go single bed shooing for ds1 soon. Need a bed for him so ds2 can move in to his toddler bed and the cot will be free for baby. Then we've got to decide whether to swap rooms with the boys before or after baby is born. There will be much rearranging of furniture!

DairyNips · 28/04/2012 21:53

Ooh got a bargain on pampers at Tesco tonight. Size one pack of nappies £2.75, works out at 10.2p per nappy which is cheaper than the bulk buy box they have at the asda baby event (they worked out at 11. something pence per nappy). It's a nice little pack too for baby's bagSmile

Fanbelt · 28/04/2012 22:04

Thanks for heartburn tip Blondie and pleased to hear you got a better night's sleep last night. I did finally fall asleep (on the sofa!) around 6-ish, only to be woken up at 7:15 by DS2... And managed a couple of hours snooze mid-morning so have just about got through the day.

Was on the phone to my mum earlier to ask if I could borrow her crutches (she had a hip replacement op a couple of months ago and has got plenty of crutches to spare Grin ). I'm still really struggling to walk 'cos of painful lower back after over-doing it on Thursday. Thought I'd be feeling better now after attempting to take it a bit easier since then and having hot baths/water bottles/paracetamol etc.

We're going to DH's uncle's 70th birthday party tomorrow. It's a good 2 hours drive away, somewhere between Marlow and Henley, so I'm not looking forward to that (the drive that is, the party should be fun - I hope). The plan is to meet at a pub for lunch and then they've booked a river boat trip in the afternoon and then back to the pub for birthday cake and tea before heading back home.

Went to a VBAC vs elective c-section discussion group this afternoon. It was really interesting, all about the choices available to you during labour in a hospitalised setting. I'm still going to book my caesarean in (got the consultant appt on Tuesday) but am now seriously thinking I might try VBAC if I go into labour naturally before 39 wks - which i wasn't even considering before.

Just going to get my glass of milk now before heading up to bed - here's to a better night's sleep for everyone!!

PinkPanther27 · 29/04/2012 00:00

Hi everyone, found the new thread! Not long now hey! Sorry to those of you who have been having problems slepeing/heartvurn/contractions, I feel your pain. I generally sleep ok except having to change position every hour due to SPD and 1-2 toilet trips. I heard good things about the Tena pads for post labour bleeding ut was too embarassed to go in my local shop so ordered them online lol Am now trying to have my bag packed ready as only 5 weeks left!
Hope everyone gets a better nights sleep tonight

McKayz · 29/04/2012 08:00

Morning.

Just popping in to see how Blondie is?

I've been awake since 4am and I feel terrible Sad

blondiedollface · 29/04/2012 11:36

Thank you McKayz no more contractions here, had my feet up since yesterday morning and although it feels a bit weird it's definitely settled LO! But WOW do my tummy muscles hurt... I feel as though I've been crunching 1000 each day for a week!

Sorry to hear everyone is waking up through the night and feeling so bad, my sympathies are with you all, the 1am, 4am and 6am wakeful periods are getting me too, and sleeping is just so blimmin' uncomfortable :(

Good luck with the bag packing ladies, I'm sure mine is missing something glaringly obviously and absolutely vital - but I'm sure I've done my best (and the camera is already packed Grin )

Hope the milk is helping and Happy Sunday ladies, last couple of days before we're officially 'due next month' :)
