Great news Amethyst and McK

Just home from a pedicure - beautician asked if I'm pregnant Hmm honestly,if you could see me,you'd understand why I'm so amused...37 weeks today Smile

Smallwonder · 25/05/2012 15:45

Super news Amethyst and McKayz Good stuff!

OMG ffnorm are you pregnant indeed? LOL. When I was travelling back at 28 weeks the air steward kept staring at bump, then looking away, staring, looking a good 10 minutes of this and then very sheepishly came over and said 'madam are you expecting a baby at all?' :o He just wanted me to sit by the window rather than aisle as I was first row by the door. Bless him. I guess some folks just worry about putting their foot in it but at this stage.... lol. Did you actually laugh? I wish i'd opted for a pedicure too, in desperation I tried to do a good job of my toenails (everytime i looked at my feet i got irritable) and made a bit off a 'mess', even DH asked why I'd tried to do them alone i guess i was worried i'd go back into hospital with unflattering toenails. Not that anyone would probably worry mind!

I've got my ME time booked for tomorrow morning. DH had double booked work even though I'd sent him my appointment to his calendar, fortunately he has has postponed so I can go and then he'll pick up DC for what i hope will be a nice quiet BBQ in the garden (for which i will probably sit out for the whole of 10 minutes before retreating indoors).

Kveta How are you and DS? Is he enjoying bedtime with his new bed?

Right then, this time next week I'll be able to see just days to go!!!! x

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/05/2012 15:58

Yay, at last I'm booked in.

Baby measuring bang on 38 weeks which I am tomorrow (not sure mw took correct measurements but who am I to argue?)

Not any sign of engaging but then mine never do. And still back to back but not true back to back, more back to side.

Dairy BFing group sounds great.

justwantcheese · 25/05/2012 16:10

Wish my monkey back to back would move.
Is it routine to have a growth scan as I've never been offered one?

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/05/2012 16:19

Not unless you appear to be big.

rhihaf · 25/05/2012 18:30

Hello everyone,

Sounds like stuff is starting to happen for a few of us! :D

Had scan yesterday to check position of bump and he's still breech, so am going back on Thurs for ECV. Has anyone else had this? Did it work? Did it hurt?

If it doesn't work or he spins back into breech, they're giving me a date for 39 wks c-section. Hmm

Can't remember now who said what, but whoever it was who said they're so tired they feel sick, I've just had that today for the first time. It's bloody awful isn't it? And heartburn has just returned after a blissful week of normal eating etc Angry

Hope everyone can sleep ok in this heat tonight...

Kveta · 25/05/2012 19:04

justwantcheese growth scan here is due to previous large baby - think a lot of us are measuring big or small for dates, so have extra scan to be on the safe side.

starlight great that you're booked in, hope baby now decides to turn up on a decently temperate day/night, can't imagine labouring in this heat!!!

ffnorm I was asked if I was pg today too Hmm - you've seen the size of my bump 10 days ago, well it hasn't got any smaller. and yesterday other people were asking if it was twins. just goes to show how odd the general public can be :o

Tea is babyT one month old today? happy birthday to him :)

Warlin hope you got checked out, and also had a lovely last day at work!

little hope you get checked out too!

DS slept well last night (11 hours!!) so will be awful tonight I imagine. He woke up from his nap today absolutely dripping in sweat, poor boy. And has spent the afternoon headbutting my bump whenever he thinks I'm not looking. DH finished work early tonight though, so is toddler-wrangling whilst I laze about think about doing the washing up. and think about another twister ice lolly. or 2.

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 25/05/2012 19:21

Evening all.

Well, I've been trying to keep up with the thread but can't even begin to remember who said what so I'm afraid I'm not going to try!

Last day at work today so have been celebrating with a BBQ and a glass of champagne. Lovely.

Midwife did a home visit on Monday to make sure house is suitable for homebirth (it is) but she still thinks baby is breech. I've got no idea to be honest so have been doing some tilts just in case but no major movements regardless. Have a growth scan and consultant appt on Monday anyway so we'll see what that shows. Hopefully if he is breech I'll be offered an ECV but we shall see.

Hopefully I'll now have a bit more chance to post on here and keep up with everyone!

Bring on the babies!

McKayz · 25/05/2012 19:30

I am fed up of the twins comments. I also get told that the other one could be hiding. I have had 8 scans in this pregnancy. I am sure in 1 of the scans they might have noticed 2 babies!!

Just I have to have growth scans because DS2 was big and because I have been measuring big. Some women also have them if they have had small babies before or measure small.

I have a painful bump this evening. I know this sounds silly but it just feels so heavy. MW at the hospital said I am ready to go really as baby is head down and apparently it is quite rare for a 3rd baby to engage before labour.

Hope you are all ok. I want to move to the North Pole for the next week.

blondiedollface · 25/05/2012 19:45

Amethyst and McKayz So glad to hear you can both have the births you planned (or at least try Wink )

Small We have ants here too, so got some Nippon and there was a frenzy for about 3 hours. Haven't seen one since Grin

I think I've been quite lucky aside from hideous facelift hag, nobody has really felt the need to comment much on my pg nor on size of my bump or ask if I'm carrying a litter (DH says it's because I'm fierce), more often than not I'm just told 'you've started young' Hmm

DH and I spent his last day of holiday going to the cinema, it was lovely and dark and cool and obviously empty due to the weather! He got to see Avengers and I got to snooze chill out for 3 hours... Feet now in a cold bowl of water and DH cooking dinner :)

Thank you all for your lovely comments on the pic I posted on fb, it was exactly the confidence boost I needed to wear something lovely, that even 6 months ago I would have just 'chucked on' as a casual outfit - oh, how times change!!

Hope you're all cool and ice cream levels are optimum Xx

10000fireflies · 25/05/2012 19:46

Hello my lovelies

Not doing very well keeping up with you all either. Have been distracted from domestic duties by lovely weather so have either been outside roasting or catching up with a few friends. Baby, please don't come early. I have too much to do!!! (OK, a day or two early would be fine!!)

Saw MW Thurs. Baby engaged. Trying to keep hydrated in vain hope of avoiding induction. Baby v active though, so that's ok. (thanks for asking small) Baby reacts v strongly when I put ice-pack down my top!! V funny. Recommend ice packs down top, feet in bucket of cold water whilst eating ice lollies to cool down.

Rhihaf I haven't had ECV but friend has twice and it worked both times. She was keen to avoid CS.

Waves to all. I have a busy week coming up so not sure when I will be able to catch up next. Freaks me out a bit though as some of you are due by the time I'm properly free again!! Bring on the Jubilee babies!!!

Novmama · 25/05/2012 19:57

Good evening to everyone. I'm also struggling to keep up and log on regularly (no Smartphone here) so respect to those of you who do. Its great reading what everyone is doing... Don't feel so alone. I'm fed up with being pregnant. I love hot sunny weather but this has come just a bit too early.

Have been poorly - might have been heat related. Vomiting, achey and exhausted yesterday. Ate next to nothing. Seems to have gone today. Sleeping is just dreadful - the heat is just adding insult to injury.

Saw MW today. Am 38 weeks. 3/5 engaged. She is convinced I'll still be around next Friday so has booked me in to see her again. All ok with LO. Lots of pressure down below. Blood pressure up again but still in satisfactory range.

DD being particularly naughty and hard work - guess its a combination of heat and impending sibling.

Can't remember who asked re TENS - hired mine and it arrived 2 days later. £19 for 6 weeks (its a Mama tens) - just googled. Boots and Mothercare do them too. It really helped last time round - mostly as it gives you something to fiddle with.

Hey ho - enjoy the sunshine...... Cant' wait to read the next birth story....

thedogwalker · 25/05/2012 20:18

Hi all
Warlin Any news on the trickle of water, I had that about an hour before my contractions started with DS1, not waters breaking technically, but defo leakeage. Oh how exciting.
McKayz Great news for your homebirth, really happy for you.

Well I am a very happy woman, My DH arrived home in the early hours of this morning, so I am well chuffed. DS1, was so excited when his daddy went in to him this morning. DS has followed DH around like a shadow all day. Went swimming, which I find is a great relief on the weight of the bump and was very cooling. I would defo reccommend it.

Hope everyone is well and where are the babies, I thought we would have had more early one by now Grin.
Take care xx

ellybett · 25/05/2012 20:48

Yay tdw. Glad dh home safe, your DS must have been so cute this morning!

warlin hope you're doing ok!

Have many more words I intended to write but my brain just went fleugh so I'm going to give up and will try again later after dh comes home with my subway!

Hope everyone is doing ok in the heat and loving the tips on keeping cool! I considered a paddling pool but we don't have a hose and the idea of filling buckets of water several times fills me with dread!

surfmama · 25/05/2012 22:29

bemybebe · 25/05/2012 22:38

Oooh, so good to hear from friends here and in rl that more of June babies are on their way... How exciting!

Also, bump got scanned today again and we are 3kg! I will be loosing my v stitch in a week ready for the arrival any time after that.

DairyNips · 25/05/2012 22:39

For those of you not in the fb group, Warlin has posted her waters have gone. She's booked for induction tomorrow night at 7 as not contracting as yetSmile

McKayz · 25/05/2012 22:43

Wow Surf that's very exciting!!! Thinking of you!!

I've worked out I have 27 days until EDD. Doesn't sound that long in days!!

I can't get comfy. I've got a fan on full blast next to the bed.

DairyNips · 25/05/2012 22:53

Poor you McKayz hope the fan brings some welcome relief.

surfmama · 26/05/2012 06:10

ffnorm · 26/05/2012 08:01

Is it going to be a race between Warlin and Surf ??? How exciting, considering it's the 26th May,it's about time for a few early June babies Smile

Don't think I said - Starlight great news that you are HB approved and in the system!!!

We're off to a 6 year old birthday party this afternoon.

thedogwalker · 26/05/2012 08:36

Morning all
Warlin that is great news, lets hope your contractions start today. Good luck.

With regards to gardening, when I had DS1, I mowed the lawn on the Wednesday, I had my Show on the Thursday and contractions started on the Friday, with LO being born early hours of the Saturday morning. Maybe no connection, but maybe worth a try for those wishing to move things along.
My LO head down on a nerve, so finding it difficult to walk this morning, so no gardening for me.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day, take care xx

Smallwonder · 26/05/2012 08:41
