Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CathFin · 24/05/2012 11:41

I noticed in my notes yesterday that the midwife had put 3/5 at 34 weeks which must mean the baby felt moderately engaged to her, bloody painful anyway, just did a Tesco run to use my vouchers and I could do with a kip now!

CathFin · 24/05/2012 11:44

Star - I ordered my Tens online from Boots, think its meant to turn up when I'm 38 weeks...

TDW - hope baby is moving more now, the Dr said yesterday that it felt like mine had run out of room when I said it was definitely moving less than previously.

Smallwonder · 24/05/2012 12:46

Mck she sounds reassured. Hopefully tomorrow paints a clearer picture. R u feeling ok?
Tdw - I feel for u, but do glad LO finally put your mind at rest - u take it easy now and relax.
This app doesn't allow me to look at msgs and know I've forgotten someone, sorry!
seriously cheddar and miniangel are u still with us?
DS looks willing to nap now so will try my luck. Am doing nothing today, feel crap, vomited breakfast and swollen again. Had to cancel much wanted visit to my friend's place where I would've been sat in domestic bliss smelling real coffee and cake -- :( think take away and lazing are on the cards. Bleugh.

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/05/2012 13:06

Thank you Cath. I'll get onto it then.

A midwife just rang. Apparently I missed a midwife appointment this morning that no-one told me about. Hmm

thedogwalker · 24/05/2012 13:20

Hi all
Starlight looks like a bit of red tape by the MW re your risk assesment etc, I hope you get all sorted soon, lets hope LO stays put until then Smile.
Kveta sending you lots and lots of sleeping vibes, hope they help Smile.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words, I was just in such a state. He is normally so active and so I panicked when he didn't respond to any stimulation for over an hour. Mind you he has let me know that he is there now, infact he hasn't stopped moving and I'm not complaining one little bit as it feels very reassuring [phew]
Starlight Hope they can rearrange your MW appointment and soon.

Hope everyone is having a good day, take care all xx

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/05/2012 13:39

Tdw, how many weeks are you?

Both of mine went quiet a couple of days before labour. I was on the verge of calling in with them both and then went into labour.

thedogwalker · 24/05/2012 14:03

Starlight I'm 37+3, so yes LO could come anytime now. Can't rememeber any quiet times with DS1, so thanks for letting me know.

DairyNips · 24/05/2012 15:08

star I saw at the Tesco pharmacy they hire them the other day Smile

Smallwonder · 24/05/2012 15:51

No babies here yet then? :o come on ladies!

DS and I have just woken having slept the afternoon away, we'd probably have kept going if someone hadn't rang doorbell for so long -- Angry no idea who, and always write for deliveries to be left in porch, typical.
I hired a tens machine 7 years ago so am no help whatsoever, you're getting there now Smile all systems go??
Time to laze some more I think.

justwantcheese · 24/05/2012 17:10

Hi all, blonde hope all is well with you and Fanbelt that you are having nice cuddles with our new born.
Kveta hope you are getting some sleep at last.
Small, how are the legs today? Hope the puffiness has gone down. Plenty of ice cream works wonders I think!
Cathfin
, hope the headaches go, I'm with you on those- I am drinking juice like its going out of fashion thinking I'm dehydrated.
Pink, I think you're nesting with all those jobs you're doing, maybe you'll be next.
Dw, sorry about your scare, hope your little one is having a good wriggle now. I always think they move less at this stage as they are so big and not much room, still a scary moment for you.
Mckayz, hope yours has turned, mine is a back to back too and I'm wishing she would turn too.
Starlight, hope the homebirth red tape gets sorted.
Warlin, only 2 days til mat leave, bet you can't wait.
Had a very lazy day today as had no sleep last night so have been napping and eating all day.
Feeling quite emotional as getting so close to due date.
Just burnt tea as been on here :)

bemybebe · 24/05/2012 17:21

Ah! Cannot wait for all the news and stories... Fanbelt hope you are comfortable and cuddling your baby [ahhh]

rhibutterfly · 24/05/2012 18:39

fanbelt hope your doing well, can't wait to see the new addition.
blondie try to rest and hope time flies.
mckayz physio sounds pretty crap ,mine is really lovely she does manipulation every week and gave me crutches about 3 months ago x

rhibutterfly · 24/05/2012 18:42

TDW bet that's a relief, my lo slowed down a lot in last few days but i don't panic like i did a few weeks dack when she didn't move for more than 12 hours

blondiedollface · 24/05/2012 19:28

Hi all, home again and still bumpy. Hospital don't want me unless I'm regularly contracting even though LO's heart rate is slightly on the low side, she's moving fine and fully engaged ready to go. MW is irate but hey ho, I'd rather be at home too if I'm honest..

Swelling is just oedema and down to the heat as well, so sat here with my feet in a bowl of cold water and DH looking after me Grin

Just hoping LO will either push on out or my body will stop giving me merry hell.. Surely something's gotta give?

Hope you're all ok and topping up your vit D/ice cream levels appropriately ;)

Take care ladies Xx

DairyNips · 24/05/2012 19:39

blondie Glad you're home if that's where you'd rather be. Pretty annoying the hospital don't seem to be erring on the side of caution though. Hope your baby decides its time soonSmile

thedogwalker · 24/05/2012 19:46

Hi all
Justwantcheese, hope you get a better night sleep tonight.
Blondie at least being at home you've got all your comforts around you. I certainly have topped up my ice cream levels, loads of the stuff today.

Hey we all deserve it.I have also had a lazy day, hey I'm loving the weather but I don't plan on doing much in this heat.

Went to my local sure start centre and enroled myself and LO for a baby massage course starting in July. They have loads of stuff going on. Didn't have that facility when I lived in Germany, so definitely going to take advantage of it this time round.

Hope everyone is well, take care xx

DairyNips · 24/05/2012 19:50

No ice cream for me today but a nice cold calippo was just consumedGrin (2 boxes for £3 at asda and Tesco at the moWink)

Had a busy day, breastfeeding committee meeting straight after lunch then on to my midwife app then pick Ds1 up from nursery, trip to the park, picked up dh from work, dropped him off with the boys, went to buy tea/post parcel/ buy birthday present for sil then back and had tea and out two very tired boys (one very screamy ds2!) to bed. Phew, I've just flopped on the sofa and can only imagine moving for the bag of maltesers I treat myself to that's in the kitchen!

DairyNips · 24/05/2012 19:52

By the way, midwife check was all ok, I thought baby might have moved but is still in the cephalic position so hope he stays there. Next appointment is a day after my due date Shock it's scarily close now!

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/05/2012 19:52

What's a breastfeeding committee?

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/05/2012 19:54

I know what you mean about dates though.

I'm Puting things in my diary for AFTER the baby is born and I just can't get my head around it.

Kveta · 24/05/2012 19:56

how annoying for you blondie hope things settle soon.

had my 38 week appt today, baby is 3/5 engaged, and in a great position (head down, back to front as it were), MW says I'm 'ready to deliver' but made me an appt for a sweep at 40+1 (13 days from now, eek!) anyway - I said I hope not to see her :o DS was so well behaved at the appt, he sat nicely, and when baby's heartbeat was checked, and MW said 'sounds good' he said 'good boy baby enemy' (he still can't pronounce Emilie :o) then spent the rest of the day randomly asking to 'look inside mummy to see enemy' which always sounds good in public... Anyway, my blood pressure is even lower now (90/58 I think?) which explains the dizzy spells. have been advised to spend more time with my feet up :o

we had a mini excitement yesterday when a sparrow flew into the kitchen window - DH went into the garden and found a very stunned wee bird, so DS got a chance to stroke the poor thing before it regained consciousness and flew off. very thrilling for a toddler :)

we're nearly at the end of this thread now - think we'll need a new title soon! maybe something about a faulty train on the jubilee line, but services have resumed and next stop really will be babies :o

can't recall who asked about TENS but I bought mine from Lloyds pharmacy (well, DH did, after I'd been in labour 24 hours - he was dispatched to get paracetamol and a TENS :o) - think it cost about £35? don't forget spare batteries!!

right, DH and I have just eaten about a ton of fruit salad to soak up the ice cream, so I am going to source something unhealthy to make up for it :o

DairyNips · 24/05/2012 20:15

Star The Breastfeeding drop in I go to (as a mum and a peer supporter) is run by 'Breastfeeding Berwick' which is a charity and they have to have committee meetings now and again. I am the secretary so take the minutes and type them up. Thankfully someone is filling in for me as of today do I get a break for 6 months with the baby comingSmile

DairyNips · 24/05/2012 20:17

Ah kveta great that baby is engaged. Mine still isn't Hmm c'mon baby, get ready!

McKayz · 24/05/2012 20:20

Blondie yay for coming home but you'd think hospital and MW would be on the same wavelength.

Kveta Oooh you could be next if baby is engaged!!

It is still too bloody hot. I usually have a bath every night as it helps my back but it is too hot I think for a bath.

Kveta · 24/05/2012 21:02

nah, I'll be back at the MW in 2 weeks, in a fury, getting the sweep - no chance of this baby being early!! she's just engaged now to give me maximum discomfort until she arrives :o
