Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Why is it so hot? Doesn't the weather realise we are heavily pregnant. Just a little cooler but still with sunshine would be nice.

But at least I am getting plenty of washing done.

Warlin and Surf I hope you are both doing well. I can't wait to hear about the new babies.

Fanbelt Hope you are all ok too.

gwenniebee · 26/05/2012 12:05

Ooh so exciting, things are beginning to happen for people! We suddenly realised last night that despite having bought it, we don't actually have the pram/travel system yet... this could be a minor problem as the baby, when it arrives, will be sleeping in the carrycot part. Not to mention actually bringing it home! Anyway, DH is going to organise to collect it on Thursday :) No danger of BabyBee arriving before then, I suspect. More's the pity.

BabyBee was really, really wriggly last night, we were out entertaining our house guest (I was such good company last night, seriously...) and it was non-stop! Was convinced my arms were flying off where they were resting on my bump the movements were so strong. Then from about 11pm until this morning I felt nothing... cue very slight beginning to worry... Also, bump seems smaller and lower this morning. Anyway, I can feel wriggles again now but wonder if all that scrabbling around was baby moving into a new position? I shall find out on Wednesday at my next appointment where he/she is!

Small enjoy your pampering day :) Warlin and Surf good luck... Tea is obviously in Gold Medal position, but silver and bronze are worth fighting for!! The rest of us are sad disappointments to the team...!!

TDW Your post made me feel all warm inside :) (The one about your DH, not the one about gardening... Although gardens are good too.)

Waves hello to everyone else... DH has decided I've had enough time faffing on the laptop and is huffing and puffing and "right"ing in a way that means he wants attention.... Hmm

DairyNips · 26/05/2012 12:25

Off swimming with the boys and dh this aft . My swimming costume is stupidly tight but I can just about squeeze in to it and I refuse to buy a bigger one just to use the once! Can't wait to float around in the waterSmile

Wonder if there will be any more June babies when I come back?!

justwantcheese · 26/05/2012 13:35

I have bad baby brain, what's an ecv?

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 26/05/2012 14:24

ECV = External Cephalic Version

Manually turning a breech baby (hopefully!).

novmama I asked about Tens earlier... Blush Do you know if there is any difference between the brands? Elle and MamaTens look like the most popular options, but why?

19£ sounds like a very reasonable cost, do you remember the place you rented from?

justwantcheese · 26/05/2012 14:49

Thanks cheddar from cheese :)

Smallwonder · 26/05/2012 15:14

Very envious of those swimming this afternoon, most probably the best way to spend an afternoon in this weather.
Gwennie Yup, all these imminent babies are a sure kick up the backside for those of us who aren't as prepared as we might like to be.
McK I finished the last load of laundry yesterday which is actually unheard of in our house, I even managed the bed sheets except one. That is deffo the upside to the sunshine in a mothers world.
Warlin I'd like to say hope you are resting and preparing yourself but you are more likely to be running around doing a million things. Will be thinking of you and hoping that you'll be updating us as soon as you are able :)
Fanbelt If you're out there many, many congratulations to you again. I'll wait patiently for a pic to be posted to our group, until then, hoping you are comfortable and enjoying your newborn :)
gardeners taking it easy i hope!

Visit to salon was lovely and ffnorm hairdresser asked if i was pregnant :o I almost choked with laughter as you came to mind immediately. I am now convinced it's more than obvious but people are frightened of offending, who knows? So had my hair chopped (it was terribly long), layered and some red lowlights thrown in, and tinted eyebrows, feel so much better for that and DS gave me a big thumbs up of approval. Gotta love kids.

I have been eating for England since I got home and am now lethargic and need to nap. What a life. I also think my ankles are going to get really bad this afternoon so DH will have to sort out the BBQ alone while I put my feet up Wink won't be able to do anything really, not even pass the burgers Wink

gwenniebee · 26/05/2012 15:15

Oh!!! I have omitted fan from my medal podium in the last post.... [hangs head in abject horror and shame Blush] That'll teach me to play around with stupid "funny" metaphors whilst simultaneously melting and suffering from baby brain........ am going to hide in a cupboard now.

SpecialJK · 26/05/2012 19:31

tdw so pleased that DH is home. Must be lovely to have him back before EDD and I hope he's now properly on leave!

This baby is very very stubborn. I feel like giving up, but I know I shouldn't. It feels like he's really dug his bum right into my pelvis and got himself wedged there.

Had accupunture on Wednesday and DH lovingly has done my moxibustion even though I know he thinks it's Mumbo jumbo. Had 2nd chiropractor session thurs too. If nothing else, back feels better for it!

Went swimming today and did some handstands and somersaults. Was lovely to be in the water, and a couple of times felt very strange movements. But LO has been kicking me all day since, right in the bladder as if to remind me that he's not going to budge, little monkey.

Definitely stubborn like his mum....

Hope everyone is chilling out with an ice lolly in this heat. Hope any ladies in hospital having LO's have a handheld fan too!!!

Kveta · 26/05/2012 19:54

i have thought of a new thread title! "this is the final stop on the jubilee line, could all passengers please disembark in a timely (and pain free) manner"

so feel free to come up with a better one :o

so hot today, am feeling v rough. got my nursing bra though, and we went to homebase and got a cruddy gazebo for the totally shade-free garden, so I can lounge around to my heart's content next week.

baby has been very wriggly today, my pelvis is soo sore. constant stabbing pains in the cervix, just to add to the fun. she is headbutting every lower organ at once it seems. plus my guts are not in a good way at all. wish this was a sign of impending labour, but I've been ill on and off for weeks, and no idea what's causing it except having a large baby kicking my intestines to bits. I did a quick google at 4am (after, um, an hour maybe of sleep?) on natural ways to induce labour, and was trying accupressure on my hands. apparently nipple stimulation is dangerously potent at inducing labour too :o so DS got a long feed this morning! (he arrived in our room at 5am, and I slept topless last night as too hot, so the little swine latched on without actually climbing into bed first Hmm the many and varied joys of bfing a toddler...) I have got to the stage where I couldn't give a crap whether DH is at the birth or not, I just want baby out ASAP.

right, I'm waiting for our shopping to arrive then DH will wash up and I'll watch eurovision :o

hope some of us get some sleep, and warlin and surfmama get some good strong contractions :o

McKayz · 26/05/2012 21:09

Kveta it's a great name for the new thread.

I've given up with Eurovision and decided to have a cool bath instead.

Hope Warlin and Surf are doing ok!!

DairyNips · 26/05/2012 21:30

AmethystMoon · 26/05/2012 21:34

Great thread title kveta Grin

surfmama · 26/05/2012 22:40

aaaargh nothing except exhaustion today, and a feeling of being a bit periody... no idea - am feeling different though, not really sure how... god it's hot isn't it. planted some lettuces and braved the new bees to get to the chicken eggs. walked around chichester and did sainsburgs. feel fucked now. do you think my baby is punching me down in the fanjo area or could it have turned and be jumping? must be punching i think as had hiccups puksing right down there just remebered. anyway, nothing imminent i dont think. kveta love the new title. sorry your feeling so shite do you think it is the baby punching? amethyst hope you didn't get too overheated today, no more feeling dizzy. warlin thinking of you hello and waves to everyone come on babies!

bemybebe · 27/05/2012 00:53

Love love the thread title Kveta. Cannot believe we are already on the next one.

Smallwonder · 27/05/2012 03:56

Angry have avoided napping like the plague to enable good night's sleep but am still awake :( not even a book is helping

If this is all prep for the LO does that then mean it is going to be awake ALL night Confused should go walk around the house or something!

MammaInTheMaking · 27/05/2012 04:14

small I'm awake too... Been at a wedding today and am in a lovely air conditioned room. Have slept for 3 hours but now wide awake. Wish it was breakfast time....

McKayz · 27/05/2012 07:35

Morning.

Small and Mamma I hope you both got some more sleep.

Baby isn't moving this morning. I'm going to give it an hour to see if she wakes up then I'll have to give the hospital a ring.

Hope you are all having lie ins

ffnorm · 27/05/2012 08:00

Warlin has a baby SmileThanksSmile

Kveta · 27/05/2012 08:02

:o

so we have 3 june babies now!! who's next?!

Smallwonder · 27/05/2012 10:09

Yipeeeeeee!!!!
Bless her, straight from work to motherhood, I cannot wait to hear the update Grin
mck hopefully she's just having lazy Sunday lie in!
mama hope u got back to sleep ok, a/c room sounds lush.

I slept fom 5:30-9am straight so that's something and off out now before it's too hot and I get grumpy. Looking fwd to warlins news!

blondiedollface · 27/05/2012 10:48

Warlin Congratulations!! Thanks Hope now you've finished work and LO is here you can finally snatch some rest and that your DH will give you a much deserved rest, can't wait to hear how your lovely little man arrived :)

McKayz My LO has been soooo quiet the last few days MW said to go in whenever I get a couple of quiet hours but seeing as I've had SO many traces and hosp visits in the last week I just can't bear to go in, I usually end up crunching a glass or two of ice and eating something high in sugar (I even had a spoonful of golden syrup on Thurs eve) that sometimes gets her moving.. I'm probably not erring on the side of caution but I honestly can't face driving 30mins just to be monitored for 30 mins - LO will obviously give me a a few hefty kicks and say 'just kidding mum I'm alright really!' and then drive all the way home again. I just feel like she's getting some rest before her big day hopefully soon and I am still feeling her move every now and then so I know she's ok :)

Small Glad you got some more sleep last night, maybe more salon trips will do the trick? Wink

I have a feeling BabyBlondie is exactly like her daddy, will arrange a time and even though he tries to get there for then, arrives ridiculously late... So just my luck she'll be the last of the June babies, I keep telling her that her wardrobe and bookshelves are full and doesn't she want to come and try on her lovely clothes and be read her lovely books, but no dice!

The party went really well last night and 2 of DH's aunts who live abroad had come over to surprise his nan, it was a lovely night and it was quite cool with the breeze which was nice, everyone said how well I was looking didn't tell them about the expertly applied 3 inches of slap and we left at a decent hour too!

Hope you're all well and shade/ice cream/vit D levels are optimum Grin
Xx

blondiedollface · 27/05/2012 10:49

P.S Kveta Fab thread name!!

McKayz · 27/05/2012 10:54

Warlin Congratulations!!!

Baby seems to be more active now. She was probably just having a nice sleep. She is still quieter than normal but then have been wriggles and kicks.
