Warlin i'm still working! I finish up a week tomorrow at 38+5 :o Can't wait not to commute into London any more.

DairyNips · 21/05/2012 12:37

Sends Special her best ~~~turning vibes~~~~~>Smile

McKayz · 21/05/2012 12:42

Turn BabySpecial Turn!!!

Smallwonder · 21/05/2012 12:46

Afternoon all,
Pleased to report I'm on the other end of the emotional pole this morning Grin Up and out for the first time in forever at 9.30 with DS3 for breakfast together and some shopping it was great, although I have returned ready to nap! Decided to treat myself and feel like I have some breathing space with just the youngest around for a few days I think i am slightly in denial about how life is going to be with 4 DC under 6.5 years of age, ALL day and night.

Kveta Good for you, you definitely deserve to slow down now. A fortnight is just around the corner. I have a feeling a few of us will have our LOs on the same day as mine is scheduled on a day where some of you are due and others day before and after :o Whoop whoop!
McKayz Yay for pram delivery, what did you get? I picked mine up at the weekend, was in excellent condition, a Britax Travel System that I'd not usually have gone for but price was right and just a stone's throw away and it does seem to pretty ok. Everything was included. Would have loved the icandy but can't justify it on the 4th child.
Justwantcheese Where have you been? Hope all is well and glad leak sorted at reasonable cost.
Warlin Glad we're both on the 'higher' side of life today :) Forecast set here to go up in the mid-twenties!!!! I will be very happy if that is the case. Will mean happy vibes, laundry all done and contented outdoor children. I think you're so going to love your mat leave, you deserve it after all this time at work.
Special Fingers and everything crossed for your appt today. Let us know how it goes.
Dairy Always lovely to hear that a fellow busy mum has had a great night out! Glad you enjoyed it.
TDW Get well soon, and rest, rest, rest!!!!
Cathfin Good to hear DC were settled allowing some sleep.
Big Wave to everyone else and Amethyst too.

Achievement today, I have never eaten seafood in my life, other than fish fingers force fed to me by my parents as a very young child so after having cooked fillets a few times for DH actually had the courage to buy squid and REAL fish with eyes and all for his dinner tonight. Felt like doing something different for him, he's been a real gem lately and I won't be doing anything like this when LO is here for sure. So, will be touching, marinating, looking at eye balled fish, cooking, smelling them as a tolken of my appreciation...wish me luck.

Delivery of Baby Burts Bees stuff came. Lovely.
Two more deliveries and nothing else due. That is it, done and dusted until it all goes on ebay.

2 weeksish to gooooo .....

justwantcheese · 21/05/2012 12:53

Yay tdw, how's everyone today? Sorry my brain is mush and I can only remember snippets of peoples posts. Love the description of the mucous plug- very accurate,I had my daughter 8 hours after mine went. How exciting for you, won't be long now.
Glad to here k that you are on maternity leave , you sound like you are really ready for it.hope you manage to get some rest.
Can remember a little of after pains but def had more pain with the stitches- think I'm still traumatised by them 9 years later.
Still getting a lot of movement and backache, feels like an achievement just walking to the biscuit tin.
Water started coming through my kitchen roof last night from the toilet, got really stressed thinking about the cost calling out plumber on a Sunday thinking I haven't budgeted for you! Thought it was going to be about 200 pounds but he only charged me 30. Phew very relieved.
Well have a lovely Monday everyone, take it easy. Can't wait to see who will be next x

justwantcheese · 21/05/2012 12:53

Sorry for duplicate post, don't know why!

McKayz · 21/05/2012 13:02

Small rather you than me. I don't do fish at all. I did work experience at the sea life centre and had to cut up squid for baby seals and the baby sharks. It was vile.

I've gone for the Babystyle Oyster. I've got a purple colour pack for it too. So exciting!!!

kveta a very wise decision, good luck with getting everything wrapped up today Smile
warlin you are not alone I finish work 1 June so on the final countdown now Grin madly sorting out stuff for all the handover meetings coming up. Which I am also dreading as it means I can't work from home Sad
special good luck with the turning. As far as I know mine is head down but has been wriggling like mad all weekend and I am worried she's turned back the other way! Can't wait to see MW on Friday to get her to check.
mckayz has the pram arrived yet? Very Envy of your purple colour pack Smile
justwantscheese glad your leak wasn't too expensive... Phew!Smile
small good luck with the fishy.... Seabass is a favourite of mine Grin very Envy of your burts bees delivery, lovely stuff Smile
tdw you're not alone... I've had sinus headache for last two days Sad I thought all that had passed in the early months. I wonder if it is hay fever related? Hope you feel better soon x
Right back to work after another cup of raspberry leaf tea Grin

DairyNips · 21/05/2012 13:17

Starlight are you out there? Did you get my pm?Grin

TeaandHobnobs · 21/05/2012 13:43

Annakin31 I am in SW London and would definitely be up for meeting for coffee! Brew

Glad you enjoyed your hypnobirthing course (where did you do it, out of interest?) and I hope it helps you have a more positive experience this time. I couldn't recommend it enough Smile

Warlin · 21/05/2012 15:16

Welcome annakin

I'm starting to feel massively under-prepared as regards the birth. I haven't made it to any anti natal classes and haven't tried hypnobirthing, and am not yet on the raspberry leaf tea! I just can never seem to find the time or energy for these things! I really couldn't face the parentcraft classes as it would have involved a massive rush stright from work. I do hope to attend a breast feeding workshop once I finish work but that will be it. I really wish I felt more prepared. Starting to panic a bit. :(

McKayz · 21/05/2012 15:19

It's arrived!!! Now I just need a baby as I am dying to get out and push it around!!!!!

justwantcheese · 21/05/2012 15:31

Mckayz, for a split second I thought you meant your baby had arrived! :) how exciting to get your new pram x

McKayz · 21/05/2012 16:05

Grin sorry!! We ordered it at the end of March and then kept being told that they had to wait and then wait. So I am pleased it is finally here.

gwenniebee · 21/05/2012 17:59

Hello everyone :)

The sun is beginning to come out here this evening... hope this bodes well for the rest of the week! We had our school photo this morning and it was bloody freezing sitting out there "smiling" for ages and ages while the photographer moved people an inch here and an inch there. Then had the delights of trying to teach right angles to a class where some of them were getting tetchy that I wasn't using "obtuse" and "acute" because they're clever enough for that, and some were still saying at the end of the lesson "but how do I know if it's a right angle or a left angle?" Aaaaagh differentiation + requirement for patience = really narky Mrs Bee at the moment!!

(So, amethyst and warlin as you will have gathered, I'm still at work too...) 9 working days to go. Have just sent an email to the bursar asking him to confirm that half term will be treated as a week of full pay, otherwise I might see if I can end next Weds. That will be exactly a month before d-day so seems a good date to choose. Also means I get to miss crazy 1st June Commemoration Day where I will have to run round like a headless chicken all day and frankly, can you see me running anywhere? Except maybe to the loo? Obviously an extra week's pay would be nice!

Grin anna at the nappy! I am going to have to get over my embarrassment of certain bodily functions with DH I think...!

justwantcheese flaming typical, isn't it? We still haven't got our leak sorted... only saving grace is it hasn't rained enough to need the bucket underneath for a few days..... Hope yours is properly fixed now!

I am expecting DH to arrive with a colleague of his from the States who is staying around for the next ten nights Hmm any moment. But I have left my phone in school..... so feel a little out of the loop...... woops. Better make it look like I've made an effort to tidy up though.

rhihaf · 21/05/2012 18:03

Warlin - thank God somebody else hasn't been to the Antenatal Classes! I don't even have an excuse as I work from home/am self-employed Blush

Have scan on Thurs to see if bump has turned out of breech (he hasn't, I can feel it) so will be given a date for a planned C-Sec :(

I know I've been told this stuff by the midwives/docs (babybrain strikes!), but what happens once I get the date? Can I still have a natural birth if I go into labour before the planned csec? How late (as in how many wks) do they usually plan the csec for?

Thanks everyone x

ffnorm · 21/05/2012 19:43

McK yay on the arrival of the pram (I too momentarily thought you said the baby has arrived Blush)

Kveta good decision to finish up work, you haven't had the easiest time,so at least you can relax a little DS permitting

Small I'm hoping the promised good weather will appear... Impressed by your fish preparation, even though I like seafood, preparing it at the moment doesn't appeal to me.

Special can you really do a swimming pool handstand??????? If so I feel utterly depressed at my current lack of agility... Sending you turning vibes. I got all excited yesterday as I was in alot of discomfort as she wriggled for ages and her head moved from under my ribs on the right to the middle,so thought she was on the move but then it was as if she got fed up and flopped back to where she had started.

Rihaf this is another thing that differs from trust to trust but I think most do C/S at 39 weeks. If you go into labour before that date and lo has turned you can go ahead with normal delivery,if lo is still breach you can have vaginal delivery but a lot of places aren't keen these days,so then they will proceed with C/S on that day. Or if you arrive for C/S and lo has turned they may send you home to wait for labour to commence.

Cheese great news about the leak (and rather now than when baby is here)

Going to spend this evening packing my bag Anna another one who isn't the most organised For those interested Boots is having 3 for 2 on travel size toiletries, got myself some bag items today just hope I'm not in as long as last time

Kveta · 21/05/2012 19:43

thread here by WhyAlwaysBoris - thought you'd be interested (those who were here around christmas/new year)

I am now on maternity leave, woohoo! got a bit of writing to do, but will do it over the next few days when DH is out and DS asleep. I've had so many lovely emails from foreign collaborators wishing me luck, it's really nice :)

is anyone else feeling mega-nauseous again? I just feel so rough and sick. I'm so hungry right now, but don't want to eat anything for some reason. Grr.

for anyone who wishes to join the FB gang, drop me a PM and I will instruct you in the secret rituals etc :o

ffnorm · 21/05/2012 20:03

Thanks Kveta had wondered about Boris, how awful for her!!!

I had a random vomit this morning, not particularly nauseas and there was nothing in my stomach Shock

StarlightMcKenzie · 21/05/2012 20:14

Hi everyone. Thank you for your kind wishes. I spoke to the head of homebirths and she said I can have a homebirth without being actually booked in Hmm (like to see THAT argued on the day!)

Dairy Thank you for flagging your PM. I'm rubbish at spotting them. I've responded.

Smallwonder I think it is partly just the way I am. I take on a lot at a time. I'm camping for 4 nights from 13th July - in a yurt, in a field with no facilities. Likely to still be bleeding then. Not figured it out at all, but it has to happen.

StarlightMcKenzie · 21/05/2012 20:21

Brilliant news TDW

Anna and Tea I'm also in SW London!

TeaandHobnobs · 21/05/2012 21:12

Poor Boris, what a truly awful experience. I have posted on her thread to give another vote for moving her care to St Thomas'.

Glad to see more SW Londoners coming out of the woodwork Grin. Don't forget we have a plan to meet up at Wisley in the summer! Speaking of summer, tomorrow's forecast looks brilliant! The Tea family are planning to go out and soak up some sunshine and boost our Vitamin D levels.

Right, it's almost June - where are these babies then? I'm getting lonely! DH goes back to work on Friday - terrified Confused

rachyroodle · 21/05/2012 22:31

Wow - have been offline for most of the weekend and so much to catch up on!

Blondie has been quiet today so maybe some news?? Mucus plug sounds interesting. I keep forgetting about that bit.

Kveta sounds like you have done really well to stay at work so long. I finish next Tuesday but only have 4 working days left as have realised that working any more than 2 days on the trot is too exhausting for me now. Doing loads of handover and really bored of the sound of my own voice now. Gwennie' Amethyst, Warlin not long now and we will all be finished!

Small well done for cooking the fish!! I love eating fish but must admit I sometimes put myself off by preparing it. All the eyes, bones etc! glad to hear you feel much better today. your kids sound so lovely.

Tea baby photo is just gorgeous!

Anyway off to NCT tomorrow to learn breastfeeding. Probably the thing I feel most anxious about because I really want to be able to do it! Three weeks tomorrow until the baby is due...can't wait!!
