We arn't a close family it has been a yr since we saw him. He was a good uncle the fun one so feel sorry for my cousin who has gone up to see his mother with my parents. I hope my mum will come home soon as there really is very little to be done as my cousin is with her and the funeral won't be for a couple of weeks. My mum hasn't seen her sister for a while but my aunty isn't alone as the other sister is up there to. As for me now have to cancel appointments and jiggle arrangements for the the next 3 days. Just feels strange that he is gone and makes me worry about my own father more who is still working in London as a contractor for the oil industry.

GiraffeAHolic · 28/11/2011 09:30

Sounds like every last one of us will be glad when these babies actually arrive now.

Spent the afternoon with MIL yesterday and she'd bought some bodies, babygros and a pramsuit for bump, really chuffed as she's taken a long time to come round to being 'grandma' (she was only 39 when Dd was born)

Health visitor is coming for home visit this afternoon and bringing bump's red book Grin although home birth looking less likely as drs are kicking off about genetic thing, have to see consultant Friday to discuss.

Sorry about your uncle nanny it was me looking for funeral attire a few weeks ago - pick away

ParsleyLion1 · 28/11/2011 09:44

I'm quite happy keeping baby in for a bit longer - but then I'm a bit behind time wise so not too uncomfortable yet! Give me a couple more weeks and I'll be right with you Grin

I had a little panic yesterday when I was washing & ironing my hospital bag stuff, not about the pregnancy or actually giving birth but I had a sudden realisation that I actually am going to be a mum and things will never be the same again Shock

I know that sounds obvious but while bubs is inside I can keep forgetting about that bit...

Sorry to hear about your uncle Nanny hope your reorganising plans don't get too stressy.

shonnomanom · 28/11/2011 11:02

Not weird at all parsley its totally natural to feel that way. I do it sometimes and iv already got a kid! :)

nanny sorry to here of your loss

I'm starting to find it painful to drive :( its getting harder to get in/out the car and its sore to move my feet between peddles. I need to be able to drive, its half a mile up hill to the bus stop!

shonnomanom my bump is tiering me out to. Experience tells me you just have to take it easy and only make the trips you really need to do. For me that is the school run at thee begining and the end of day. I do have to put up with dh's food shopping where he comes home with out enough of some stuff and at least 10 pizzas as that is what he likes! I have to do a mop up shop to get the stuff to cook the things I need.. This is the only quiet day this week to as will be driving to Guildford for 3 days. I have decided that I will find some where to stop over and pick my ds up and come home in the afternoon. There are some great shops over there and I will have to force myself to eat out at luch time for the next few days and visit an old friendwhat a hardship. Just hope I can get to grips with my new phone and Sat Nav.

fishandlilacs · 28/11/2011 11:48

nanny I used to work in Guildford right at the top of the hill. The trek from the train to work everyday! My goodness no wonder I was slim then. LOL we only lived in that area for 10 months before we came back to worcester. Not because of the hill!

I know what you mean about DH shopping-I got quite annoyed with mine yesterday, i wrote an incredibly difinitive list, making sure we weren't buying excessive anything and he came back with lots of things we already had. didn't come back with lots of things we really needed and then had the audacity to complain about how much it cost.

My last week at work! Finding motivation hard to find.

I packed my hospital bag properly last night. It's the only time i would ever pack such scruffy pants to go anywhere! They are a disgrace but they are disposable to me now. I need to some new underwear badly!

I'm still looking for button up nightshirts/nighties for the labour ward-can't find any that aren't made for Nanna's in a size 24-26. I'm normally a 20-22 but want extra roomy

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 28/11/2011 12:01

I don't let my DH do the shop any more. It's cheaper to pay Tescos to deliver than it is to end up with 3 jars of olive, 4 frozen pizzas and whatever else it is he fancies that week as well as a good assortment of the wrong items/expensive brands of the things I asked for.

Ugh - I'm having another weird day today. Keep going hot and cold and can't settle anywhere or in any position. Also feel a bit queasy. Can't decide if it's a mild bug in conjunction with being 33 weeks gone, or (the more dramatic part of my brain) it's some kind of forerunner to an early labour. I just feel so peculiar and unlike myself.

I hope it's the bug option. I really want bubs to stay put for at least 25 more days. Please baby.

Nanny01 · 28/11/2011 12:43

Dh does it instead of cause he doesn't get seduced by all the new things. Also I get so tiered at the mo and we are shopping for 6 so usually have a full cart. I have nothing packed really but know I should. I need to get these school visits done but now being told I will have to organise the last one in the new year and will now have to take our new ds with us :(. Pinch the old t shirts or shirts from ds that's what I did last time. I will put my thinking cap on and try and find some. I have my old ones that I had with ds1 but they will be good enough. Has any one got nursing bras yet?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 28/11/2011 12:48

Nanny - no idea what size my boobs will be yet, so am going to use my soft crop top style things from Primark for the first couple of weeks, then investigate proper nursing bras. It's not like I'm going out running or anything strenuous just post birth!

ParsleyLion1 · 28/11/2011 13:01

I've done the same as cakes - just some T shirty sleepwear ones from Mothercare until I know what is going on in that department.

ghosteditor · 28/11/2011 13:12

I've actually been in a nursing bra for ages! My back size went up loads quite quickly so I invested in a couple of Bravado bras on the basis of MN recommendations - absolutely love them (apart from them being chronically ugly) and would recommend, but I don't have massive boobs so don't miss underwiring or anything. They're not cut like conventional bras so they don't come in exact cup/back sizes which gives plenty of room for when boob fairy next visits Wink

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 28/11/2011 13:15

Ooh, will have to look into those.

miamama09 · 28/11/2011 14:31

would recommend getting at least one nursing bra now - I did the same as you guys when I first had DD1, but after a couple of days my boobs were SOOO sore. The MW was round doing one of her check ups and said I needed a proper nursing bra for support. Got mastitis at one point too, don't know if that was anything to do with it, but the nursing bra made such a difference right away. Plus, my size didn't change that much after that.

Another tip - savoy cabbages in the fridge! A nice cool leaf in each boob = bliss for soreness & swelling!!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 28/11/2011 14:33

ghost - was it this one? Body silk seamless nursing bra?

shonnomanom · 28/11/2011 15:15

We get Tesco to deliver for us every Saturday Morning, have done for nearly 2 months now. I just cant push a trolley with dd in it never mind a full weeks worth of shopping.

This has to be the busiest week of my Mat Leave. As well as nursery in the morning dd had her Dress Rehersal for her school show this afternoon. Tommorrow afternoon is the show. Wednesday the schools are closed due to industrial action so mum is taking Dd and I to Edinburgh to see the Christmas lights and market. Thursday evening I have a stall at the village Christmas Fair for my Brownies and Friday night I have Christmas Dinner with the other mums from Dd's Mother&Toddler group.
Most of these things were supposed to happen later in the month but have been brought forward due to my mobility. Its just unfortunate its all in the same week.. Roll on Saturday for a lazy day!!!

I got a button down the front nighty in tesco. il try find a link.

Sooooo tired ......

ghosteditor · 28/11/2011 15:19

cakes I have this leopard print one which I don't like very much and this black one which is bliss, if a bit ugly and dour

I will be buying one or two more of the latter version I think, unless I can find a prettier nursing bra that is equally comfortable. and I think they sell them in Jojo so it's yet another excuse to visit.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 28/11/2011 15:23

I quite like that black one in the funky colours... may have to get some come January when we have enough money in the kitty...

ghosteditor · 28/11/2011 15:29

ooh if anyone needs XL in the Bravado range the berry burst colour is reduced to £20....

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 28/11/2011 15:30

Whilst the cup size would be good at that size I suspect it would be way too large round the ribs... Bum.

Wormshuffler · 28/11/2011 16:04

Hello there fellow fatties Grin I am glad we are talking nursing bras as I went to mothercare today and the lady said they don't recommend buying yet because the size will be different, she said to cone back st 38 weeks and it will be more accurate! Hmmm I will give that ae miss thank you very much being that will be December 27th!
So I will be measuring myself ,and ordering online .......

I don't envy you with all that to do this week Shannon !

Really sorry about your uncle nanny :(
Possibly a silly question but do bf newborns need bibs?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 28/11/2011 16:07

Worm - depends if they're pukey really... I suppose they'd catch dribble and so on, but I think muslins are of a more general use!

I have loads of little bibs anyway as I got a job lot in some hand-me-down baby gear :)

greenlady78 · 28/11/2011 17:04

red ended up not going to Primark and would love to be able to go tomorrow and not queue alone Grin but I've got to work Sad

Anyone else having excruciating pain in their feet (actually it is my left foot that is killing me!

ghost yay for baby upside down! I feel so much pressure though that standing up is a real chore! Have you noticed any difference?

makescakes I would love to see the list for the hospital, I will start packing my bag this week!

I can't sleep more than 2 hours in a row and it is driving me crazy!!!!!!! I got to bed at 10.30, up at 12.30 for loo, then at 3am, then at 6am I give up and wake up....Angry

ParsleyLion1 · 28/11/2011 17:29

I bought bibs because they were on a list somewhere but I'm not convinced I need them.

addictediam · 28/11/2011 17:42

Thoes bras look great, but how do you know what size to order in? Or is it just hit and miss?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 28/11/2011 18:26

there's a size guide on the Bravado website, but it kind of assumes that big boobs = big back, which is not necessarily the case.

greenlady - PM me your email address and I'll fwd it to you.
