Thanks scrambled - I'm not worried about the BP right now - it's only because of being third trimester that they're reacting; I've had similar results occasionally (around 135/85, or a bit higher) throughout.

As for the BH, I've had them for four days straight now with as many as 8-10 per hour, less than a minute each. But I still have lots of gaps with no BH though, and they're not increasing I'm strength/frequency. No other early labour symptoms so I think we're just assuming that my body is keen to practice!

Great news on baby turning ghost let's hope the bum stays up where it should be

Well I had a scan today and baby was happy sitting on its bum having a snooze. The sleeping baby meant that she could get the measurements easily without any peepshow. Size wise Baby is hugging the top line on the chart. So is technically still 'normal' size but won't be at birth.

Iv to see the physio next week(35w) the mw at 36w and to see the consultant on dec21 at 38wks. Apparently Il have another scan about 37/38weeks.

The scan today was so quick that we never got to see his/her face :(

Evening all.

I hope we're all feeling more cheerful this pm.

fish If you're still looking for a home for those bra snaps then let me know!

ghost I was told to rest...rest...rest if I felt H-Bs coming back like those you've described. Hopefully they're not too merciless.

Re: hospital. Yes, it's bloody melting in hospital, especially on maternity, so don't pack long sleeves. I've gone for 2 of the following nighties and 2 sets of pjs: I got big sizes and made sure there was plenty of room to scoop out my puppies when they're needed!
night dress
top and associated pj bottoms. Also got a lightweight shortish dressing gown too.

Back to eating making me want to vomit now. Sad Ah well.

TTFN!

Good news ghost, and good luck yummy! Enjoy your time in London, too, before D-Day :) Have you got family there? Is your DH going with you or flying out for shorter closer to the birth?

To return to the nightwear debate, I've bought myself a special shirt to give birth in, one with a big scribbled picture of a little girl on it. I gave birth to my other two in the same Snoopy nightshirt but it got chucked after DD2 as I distinctly remember saying to DH while still in the delivery room "NEVER make me go through this again" Hmm No wonder he was reluctant for us to have another Grin. I also have a couple of those lovely cuddly Tesco nightshirts (mine unbutton all the way down), but they are for when I get home because they're thick brushed cotton and I would roast in the hosp. SO must get myself some front-opening nighties... Whoever mentioned about leggings - they're all very well, but I think it's a good idea to keep as much airflow to the foof as poss post-birth, helps healing and to keep infection at bay...

We've got guests staying at the moment from Germany, with a little 9-wk-old girl, so I'm getting loads of cuddles in and it's really making me excited. The girls are also fascinated, and it's really helped them to visualise what it's going to be like having a baby in the house.

Had my 32-33-week scan yesterday and it was wonderful. Have a beautiful "portrait" of her face in profile that is good enough to frame (in fact I think I will...) All is well, and she's bang on target again, Dr says she weighs approx. 2.1kg, all the parameters point to the same gest. age, which tallies with LMP so all is as good as it can be. I think my Dr likes doing scans best of all, and we were both sitting there going "Wow, isn't it just amazing what you can see on these scans, just look at that image!"

Have a good weekend girls. We are going to what will prob. be our last party, too, so after that just the countdown remains...

approx 120 posts to go on this thread. About a 3 days to a week by our average? Anyone feel like they might give birth before it's finished?

Maybe the next thread will see the first baby. :)

yummy do you know which hospital you are going for? I'll be at East SurreySmile

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 26/11/2011 19:35

Had my second hypno course today. Was a bit emotional - the first exercise we did was about picturing ourself as the baby and seeing the world through their eyes and for some reason I had this overwhelming rush of emotion and started crying, which turned to full on, really embarrassing sobbing until I had to excuse myself and hide in the loo until I was calmer.

Funnily enough the course leader has suggested I do a one-2-one session with her to work through whatever it is that's getting in my way. I am baffled. I honestly have no idea what it is that's causing this - I keep guessing, but nothing quite seems to fit as a reason for such an outburst.

Am a bit wrung out now.

Oh - and apparently raspberry leaf tea can increase the strength of Braxton-Hicks but does sweet FA for actual contractions. Starflower or evening primrose oil capsules are meant to be more effective - 500mg twice a day for 5 to 6 weeks before birth and keep taking aftwr birth to help keep you on an even keel hormonally.

ParsleyLion1 · 26/11/2011 19:42

I cried during all the birth videos - as did the other lady on my course. Our practitioner seemed completely fine with emotional outbursts. I wouldn't worry about it - I cried looking at the baby clothes in mothercare today and do everytime I visualise the baby arriving. It's a happy thing and makes me emotional and tearful. I reckon it's normal.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 26/11/2011 19:43

Yeah, I did the happy tears thing and the emotional at little babies tears - this was heartbroken sobbing. Weird.

SlightlyScrambled · 26/11/2011 19:48

I'm the same as Parsley, crying at anything really. Cried today at the end of Monsters Inc. It was supposed to be a happy ending.

Was it an 'Oh shit, I can't do this' crying or just 'it's a baby' crying?

SlightlyScrambled · 26/11/2011 19:49

Opps cross posted. That answers my question.

Sounds normal to me!

SlightlyScrambled · 26/11/2011 19:50

Oh I'm reading back now and realised you said it wasn't happy crying.
I'm sorry. It's nearly my bedtime here and the brain is fried.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 26/11/2011 19:55

s'ok. I really have no idea what caused it. It was not in the 'normal' range of pregnancy hormonal tears though. I've done enough of those to be a pretty good judge :)

Hope you all had a nice Saturday.

ParsleyLion1 · 26/11/2011 20:26

I see what you mean cakes I wouldn't worry overly about it you could end up reading too much into it. I found that whole visualizing yourself as the baby bit a bit much tbh and didn't do it. It seemed a bit over weird to me and made me cringe so I ignored the whole bit and thought about something else. It's the only bit of the course I had a problem with. I'm sure you could read some deep "issue" into it but I'm not going to.

If it ends up being a one off it's probably fine. The course does make you generally emotional so some weird stuff comes up. There are bits about fear-release that should address anything that concerns you subconsciously.

Moobee · 26/11/2011 20:29

Hope you're feeling better now cakes - do you think you'll take your course leader up on her offer?

I did my first NCT course today - it was nice to meet people but I knew almost everything discussed from mumsnet. :) it was nice to go through it with DH though and we practiced breathing together which we wouldn't have done otherwise. Quite full on being from 10-5 though. So need a rest!

GiraffeAHolic · 26/11/2011 21:14

My nappy samples arrived this morning - now that's what I call service!

fishandlilacs · 26/11/2011 21:44

cakes i'd be interested on what your hypnobirthing tutor is basing that info on. RLT is well documented to help labour through toning of the smooth muscle walls. It was one of the supporting herbs I studied when I was my aromatherapy course (15 years ago mind) so i'd be interested to know if there is any more up to date evidence.

It's also very useful as a supplement as it's full of vit c and b vits.

addictediam · 27/11/2011 00:21

Gah I'm so angry. I went to bed exausted tonight and fell asleep instantly. Dh wakes up an hour later and decides he's in the mood for sex after waking me up and me turning him down 3 times he rolls over and is now snoring away. I on the other hand am led here wide awake cursing him. Angry I'm so tired I just want to sleep. I'm fed up of being pregnant, I'm fed up of going to the toilet every 10 minutes, I am fed up of being the size of a baby fully grown mammoth sized hippo and not being able to move very well, I'm fed up of waddling and having back, neck, rib, hip, pelvic, insert any/all body parts here pain. Im fed up of my clothes not fitting, having nothing to wear and stupid designers that have clearly never been pregnant designing bras, jeans, tops jackets and coats that are stupidly uncomfortable and hideously shaped. I'm fed up of being tired and just want this baby to come now. But I'm only 30 weeks and have 10 stupid weeks to go Angry

How dare the stupid selfish inconsiderate man get me pregnant so soon after dd and then wake me up when he knew how tired I was. The stupid horrible idiot. Doesn't he realise I'm a hormonal pregnant crazy person? What is wrong with him. Angry

If dd wasn't fast asleep I'd be shouting all this at him!

ParsleyLion1 · 27/11/2011 07:01

I hear you addicted I had a similar night's sleep without the sex pest. My sleepless night was just caused by OH getting up and going to the loo about an hour and a half after I got to sleep. He then snored really badly for the rest of the night. I had to change rooms. It took me 2 hours to get to sleep again and then I woke up about every hour until 6 am grrrrAngry

Oeisha · 27/11/2011 08:58

to addicted and Parsely. Similar quantity of sleep here, only is was Sgt Bash bashing, wriggling and generally trying to push her way out of my body via any route bar the ususal that was keeping me awake. Interspersed with snoring, cats jumping on bump and the ruddy wind just as I was falling asleep!
We've found a bus stop sign under the car this morning...interesting feat of nature considering where the bus stop is.
I'm off to try for another 90mins of sleep, onyl it's raining really hard now on top of the wind, so I'm gonna fail. At least I can do that...
addicted repeatednggn he enjoys today, or nag him to do some wahing repeatedly, and then when asked just tell him it's revenger! See how he likes it.
Hope the rest of us are rested and ready to go!

Oeisha · 27/11/2011 09:02

"repeatednggn" - no idea. Looks good though. Looks like I may have been on some sugar crash or rush of excitment with that thought pattern there (beyond my usual inability to spot typos and my inability to turn off the touch pad on my laptop). Basically, piss him off back, preferably with a pointy stick. Revenge is wonderful.
