dramaqueen72 · 21/12/2005 15:00

well still counting down here ei.........hoping for today, but anyday before christmas would be nice,.....not wanting to go overdue with my fourth after all the rest have been earlier!!!

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 21/12/2005 15:54

Oooh, somthing sparkly. Don't think Appletize is quite what I'm dreaming of at the moment!!
Please baby, let mummy have a glass of champagne for Christmas!!

Thanks for the Christmas cards Ei & DQ.

Jaysfirst · 21/12/2005 16:49

well.............went shopping, didnt overdo it , not really, then in the car on the way back i started to get the same kind of feeling i did yesterday, strange as it was a similar time.Anyway by the time i got home, i was in agony again, couldnt walk move sit or anything, was in tears.Managed to calm myself down while DH bought in shopping and insisted i do nothing ...then for the next two hours, maybe two and half i had tightenings all accros my tummy and lower back, along with period type pains and cramps....still no show or waters breaking (that i know of) couldnt really time them , although DH tried to , as they were eratic in their comings and goings...also had a LOT of baby movement, really really strong, like she was going to push out of my belly button....theres def something happening here. Didnt call MF as i am seeing consultant in the morning so will tell him all about it. And now, nothing again.....except from a lot of rolling about in my nether regions!!! DH and i sat and laughed at one point, just becasue we didnt know what else to do! I blame the christmas food shopping bill over over £200.00!!!!! will keep you all informed xx

awayninahmanger · 21/12/2005 20:24

hello great idea new thread although the title did make me laugh - only a 'handful' wish you could see the size of me! I made the mistake of going out in a red coat on Saturday night won't be doing that again!
Jays all that rolling around sounds alarming but not necessarily the start of it as such, my friend had a couple of false alarms like you describe, I'd try to relax and hang in there cos you have a bit longer to go.
P is away tonight so I'm hoping for a quiet evening. Tomorrow I have lunch (another lunch) with a due in Feb lady and Friday taking ds to play with a friend, I'm getting quite excited about him opening his presents now especially his roller skates then again that was quite a stupid idea if I'm supposed to try and catch him!
George I have been drinking the odd glass of wine and I am having one on Xmas Eve hell or high water.

conqueen · 21/12/2005 21:54

hi all, havent posted in ages (sorry ) ...

really glad for new thread .. the other was getting far too long, especially when f you are like me and dont get chance to log on for days then have what feels like numerous posts to read!

Just been to midwife today and discoveed baby is OP ... which means an extended and more painful birth .. oh joy!

She reckons that baby is going to come on xmas day just as we start opening pressies - so i wnder if only i can open my pressies now will she come now?? (Unfortunatley DP says no chance of early opening of pressies!)

39 + 4 (eeek hw can it be so close)

dramaqueen72 · 21/12/2005 23:20

hi conqueen, quite mad so many of us seem to be due the same day or near enough!!
ninah, pmsl rollerskates??? did you get knee pads/helmet/elbow pads............LOL for YOU trying to catch him!
I'm fed up now, sad, and pissed off. do take your choice.
getting sad that might NOT have small baby here for christmas day serves me right for assuming that after three early babies this one would follow suit.....
hope nothing happens tonight for you ninah, but hoping it ALL happens tonight for me if not may shoot self. sigh.............

floops · 22/12/2005 08:46

Not posted for ages. How are you all?

I am now officially over due date 40 + 3. I had hoped bundle of joy and myself would be back home for xmas to enjoy pressie opening and excitement with other two cherubs and hubbie.

Getting a bit fed up of people phoning and asking if anything has happened yet.

Oh well. Let's see what today brings. Have a good day everyone!

scully · 22/12/2005 09:04

Floops, welcome to the world of being late I am 40+5 today
Never ever thought I would go this late, as dd arrived at 38+6.... minds of their own, little buggers
I do think things may be happening with me, although slowly slowly of course.....
Went to consultant yesterday - 3rd consultant appt and 3rd new one I've seen but I liked her approach a lot. Had an internal and she said baby is doing all the right things and is so far down it's not funny. I was 1cm dilated and the cervix was softening. Given that everything is going so well, she said it would be shame to schedule a c-section, just because I'm overdue, when the baby is doing everything right so far. So they'll leave me until next Wed (when I'll be 11days over), when they would probably break my waters to get things moving. But she doesn't think I'll make it to next Wed, she expects to see me in hospital by the weekend
So I left the appt feeling all reassured and happy that they baby is doing what it should and that I am still ok to keep going another week if necessary.
I had a very unsettled night and cramping has got stronger overnight, and I think is getting more regular, although still a bit difficult to tell. Had a show at 1.30am this morning, during one of my loo visits, so things are happening.....
dh has gone to work this morning to finish up a few things but will be leaving by lunchtime - bit nervous about him being 1.5hrs away but at the same time don't want him under my feet just yet
Who mentioned alcohol? Can't remember, but I'm having the odd half glass of red wine now and then - washed down with about half a litre of water but by 8pm, after dd has gone to bed, it's been necessary for my sanity some evenings over the last few weeks....
Even my dad in Australia has rung yesterday to see what is happening - this is grandchild no. 8 for him and he is Mr Laidback, so for him to call....
Popping out for an hour, so shall try and come on again when I return.

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 22/12/2005 09:42

Morning all, anyone popped overnight then?
DQ, I couldn't help but laugh as you sound exactly like I do at the moment. I have resigned myself to a January baby and the fact that I will be huge & miserable all over Christmas and my champagne & stilton will have to wait.

Ninah, how are you managing to be so active??? I'm so bored of lying like a whale on the sofa, please can I have some of your energy??

Hi Floops & Conqueen, good to see you back. Think we all need as much support as possible if we are going to make it through Christmas without going barmy.

Scully, sounds like this is it for you! How exciting, something happening at last. Hope you have plans for a nice walk today to help things along.

Well off to the docs again in a minute to have bloods taken (hmm, they forgot at 36 weeks so now taking them at 39! Is there any point???) and will then try to finish wrapping boys presents. That will then be me done in for the day so another endless round of crap TV - arghhhh!!!!!

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 22/12/2005 09:44

Ooops forgot to put, 39 weeks today so ages to go til due date!! Perhaps I should stop my moaning!!

hereshoping · 22/12/2005 10:00

hello again all, havent posted for ages but been following events. congrats to all those who have produced and hope everyone else avoids a hospital xmas dinner . well after a stressful pg what with bleed, abnomality on 20 wk scan and later growth scans , i'm thrilled with my new baby who seems fine, was delivered by elective cs 19 dec and turned out to be a dd instead of a ds!

dramaqueen72 · 22/12/2005 11:19

oh congrats heres!!!!!! how exciting, do tell us more details.
george, hmmmmmm, how funny 39wks today and your wrote 'ages' to go til due date. er. no, you havent hun!!! I had ds at 39wks exactly, dd at 39wks and something like one day, and dd2 at 39+4.....so you know this is your week!!!
scully. okay I'll be honest I DIDNT want to read that dd was early and this one is late on you!!!!I really dont want to hear I hope your baby shows up soon, cause I'm losing all faith!! sounds promising after last night....
also had rough night, really regular and uncomfy BH, for ages, back ache...etc etc....so consoling myself with the fact SOMETHING must be happening, even slowly,
hey guess what? I ahve a light fitting, and a blind up in the babys room. bil just came round to do it, think the family grapevine has heard I'm bit fed up with haning about and are all being nice. this is good!!!!
i am now going shopping, in town, amongst the masses....either will kick labour off or I'll be knackered but I CANT sit here anymore, 'waiting, driving me mad!!!

we all sound soooooooooooooooo desperate dont we?LOL

LittleMissRACHEYXmasBigTits · 22/12/2005 13:07

George, Jaysfirst and all the other late December ladies do feel free to join us in January! I'm 38 weeks myself now. Hope you all go before then though. Congrats to everyone who has popped already - so lovely!

Hereshoping - did you have a scan that gave you the wrong sex?

Booklover · 22/12/2005 13:13

Hi all,

I also haven't posted a message for a while, looks like we are all feeling the same. My due date is tomorrow but because ds was a week early I always assumed this one would be too, it did not really cross my mind that I might end up spending Christmas in hospital. I guess the main thing is that all babies are well but the waiting around is just so nerve racking, don't you think? Hope all goes well for everybody, soon we will have our little babies, no time to do anything and posting threads on the postnatal section. Have a good Christmas everyone!

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 22/12/2005 13:23

Heres, congratulations to you on your DDs birth. You kept that very quiet, I've been wondering how you are esp with all your problems early on.
Agree with DQ, we need more details
So pleased for you. If you get chance, please nip over to the Beanie thread here and let the others know. They will be delighted.

DQ, can your BIL come round & do my blind too? I can't do it and just settling for the fact that baby will have to sleep in the daylight instead. I can't get the drill through a big concrete lintle over the window.

Hey Booklover. Good to see you joining us for the waiting game (the company rather than the fact you are still waiting if you get what I mean!! )
Christmas eve babies for the lot of us I think.

Feels like every day is an eternity now. Off to have a bath to see if I can get my body moving again. Is it possible for the baby to just "fall out" without me having a labour. feels like it is by my knees!

Jaysfirst · 22/12/2005 13:50

bugger, just tped out a long message and hit the wrong button ,,,,lost the lot grrrrrrrr

Congrats to heres, i agree with George, you did keep that one quiet! Alls well tho!

Good to see some others coming back to join us in our wait for these babies, hiya booklover, floops and conqueen! Thanks for the extended invite over to Jans thread Rachey,am still hoping shes here before then tho!

Well after my episode yesterday afternoon, i have continued to have back pain and cramping, with the hardest tightest stomach i have felt ( wish it was like that when theres no baby in it!!) still no show or waters...went to consultant this morning, all ok except for when the MF couldnt feel babys head and said she wasnt sure that the head was down and thought the head was under my ribs she thought that baby might have moved round after yesterdays happenings, anyway, they wheeled in the scan machine and did a scan....babies head is so far engaged that they couldnt really see it on the scan either!! seems this wee one is wanting the christmas pressies that are under the tree for her! anyway, all has turned out ok and i got to have an extra scan!! so fully engaged, with a week to go , i have this feeling i wont be long to wait! ( famous last words i hear you all say!) Have bought pinnapple now and DH got some more tea, i might even end up having a curry for crissie dinner..lol

Going to have a bath also, and a relax this afternoon, out for a drink tonight with DH work collegue and his wife, so need some beauty sleep.

scully · 22/12/2005 14:05

Here's an updated list of arrivals.....

11 Nov George (Flutter)
02 Dec Jack (Mouseman)
05 Dec Nicholas(Sid)
08 Dec Lucas (Sweetheart)
10 Dec Roisin (Expat)
15 Dec Jack (Ebbie)
16 Dec Hannah (Nemo)
19 Dec Alex (Bonkerz)
19 Dec name tbc, but kitten for now! (Thomcat)
19 Dec name tbc (Hereshoping)

Congrats Heres, have you decided on a name yet?Good you had an extra scan Jay, always nice to have the position confirmed....if you still have a week to go I think I'd start the curry/pineapple bit after Sunday, you don't want to spend Xmas day in hospital If this baby hasn't arrived today or tomorrow than I would rather it waited until Monday, so we can at least make Xmas special for dd. I've waited this long, what's another few days
Bath sounds a great idea, just turned my hot water on early so that may be on the cards in about half an hour's time....
dh still at work, nothing much has changed with me all day, still irregular cramping that has increased in the last 24hrs but not enough to sto me in my tracks yet...Managed a trip to the High St for an hour or so this morning with dd. Spending the afternoon at home relaxing and hopefully dh will come home a bit earlier. I should have a lie down, but I can't switch my brain off to relax enough, maybe the bath will help that.

dramaqueen72 · 22/12/2005 15:30

I have just walked my butt off!!! please can this get the baby out? didnt stop til the Bh were taking my breath away...but of course they all alot easier now I'm sat back down!!!!
ei, ninah, george, your christmas cards all arrived today, thankyou so much how lovely to have dec ladies cards
jays glad you got to see an extra scan, tho -bloody hell, arent they LARGE on the screen at this stage??!! scared me to death when i had my positioning one.
oh I got to read your article, whilst standing in the supermarket LOL, very nice, something to save for the grandchildren! didnt know you had a name all picked out for the baby, lovely name.
just bought myself lots of treats in town, favourite candle, cocoa butter oil, pg lady skin body rub, some magazines and a new scrap book. well I am fed up so thought why not? nice ot be doing that kinda shopping when all about me are buying massive christmas gifts and freaking out over their lists, ho ho ho. enjoyed doing it so early this year, will make an effort to finish christmas shopping next year early too.
george, hmmmmm, you need a hammer drill for concrete. can you not fix the blind across the window onto the sides/wall/wooden surround iyswim? we had to cut mine as I wanted it in the recess.....BIL was great tho, not a grumble, when normally hes non stop grumbling!
oh god my feet are killing me. and everything esle for that matter. scully, well now youve said tomorrow or after christmas, you realise youve tempted fate????!! I hope its soon and youre nto too uncomfy right now.
george, i guess christmas eve would be quite nice. tho so would today.....

Jaysfirst · 22/12/2005 16:13

lol went upstairs to have bath, sat on the bed in spare rm talking to DH while he was on PC....i ony had a little lie down honestly...next thing i know i have just woke up! not having had a bath!well i needed it i can tell you!

Scully, i was thinking the same thing, if nothing else happens then i will endevour to start procedings as of Tuesday next week!! Youre so calm about it all, or at least appear to be!

DQ, glad you treated yourself to some nice pampering bits and bobs, always does wonders for me, i have some lovely 'naked' body butter from Boots, its wonderful, smells so good that i want to eat it! The article will make agreat keepsake, my mum bought up her local shop of them, not sure what shes going to do with 7 or so copies! As for babies name, the reporter asked us if we had thought of any names, we mentioned Harriette to her but did say that we werent 100%.....she has made it out like its the name we are set on! (although it is a lovely name!) right then i am going to attempt a bath again!!

scully · 22/12/2005 19:01

Keep forgetting to look for that magazine Jay, if I get to to tomorrow intact then I shall try to remember....
Dq, your treats sound lovely, why not too, just the same as dh going out for drinks
I am fairly calm, just running out of steam now as cramps are getting a bit stronger, and I'm very tired, & dh isn't home yet....
Feel sorry for dd as I haven't been great company from 4pm onwards this afternoon but I think her day has been ok.

Jaysfirst · 22/12/2005 19:17

awww scully hope your Dh comes back soon to support you, i thought you said he was coming home at lunch time, mind you you have to take what they say with a pinch of salt sometimes!!! Still you do need someone to lean on, is there a neighbour you can call on if your cramps get really bad?? i am breathing for you as we speak!!

Had a lovely bath then had some dinner, just spent hlaf an hour putting my make up on...it seems like for ever since i last went out, i am getting flashbacks to this time last year when i was out nearly every night for a christmas do of some kind, makes me a bit sad thikning of it to be honest, not that i am not looking forward to baby coming, just reminissing thats all....

Hope everyone is ok, it seems to have been a bit quiet on here lately, guess we are all preparing for christmas/babies/familes etc, anyway, christmas hugs to everyone. Spk laters xx

awayninahmanger · 22/12/2005 21:04

hello everyone, no news here. All I did today was ... lunch, so much for energy, george!
Congrats Heres! great news
dq now you have got that blind up there's NO excuse for not leaping in that pool
scully I do hope all is well with you and dh is there and things are happening, thinking of you
Good luck everyone, and hope you are looking forward to Christmas with more enthusiasm than trepidation

babygibbon · 22/12/2005 21:22

Hereshoping - congratulations!

Jaysfirst - picked up a copy of Woman today, lovely article and great pictures...are they your real names or have they been changed for anonymity? (Just curious, not planning on stalking you!)

It's been a day and a half here. DH and I have been "getting it on" every night for the last three to try and bring baby on, and yesterday I had strong regular BH for an hour and a half afterward, thought we were on the way, but they faded.

Anyway, all this has been put on a back burner now because both DD's eardrums have burst and she's got conjunctivitis in both eyes and a temperature, poor baby, and DH also has a temperature - talk about bad timing. Still, there's no imminent signs tonight which is probably for the best...

Hope everyone is well - wouldn't it be strange if all of us waiting ended up having them this weekend...!

bonkerz · 22/12/2005 21:32

Hi all,

Cant believe 3 of us dropped on the same day!!!!
Have posted a pic of Alex for you all to see!

Goodluck!
