Morning.

Congratulations and welcome to our newbies.

I've been awake since 5am and of course the boys have only just woken up. Angry when I manage to sleep later they're up early.

My friend gave me a Doppler yesterday that she had from her pregnancy. I'm in 2 minds if I want to use it or not. I'm not a trained MW so I'm worried that if I can't find the heartbeat I'll get panicked about it.

ecstatica · 25/10/2011 08:00

Congratulation ladies :)

Starlight - was very envious of your Mcdonalds their french fries and thickshakes get me every pregnancy yum!

The 2 poorly DC did not wake me it was the one that is fine!!!!! Need drink, wet bed, when is it morning, are you sleeping? When will it snow? This was after every 'muuuummmmmmmy' until I got very cross at around 1am. I seem to be looking fwd to bedtime earlier and earlier each day.

Whoever said (who was it?) the other day that topping up food helps keep the nausea at bay couldn't have been more right! Went to bed early to just rest and watch a movie when the kids went up having eaten not long before and by 10 had thrown up (had not eaten/snacked in that time) so will now be attached to carrot sticks, crackers, snacky box.

Pooh to those woken by drunks and early risers!

Coops79 · 25/10/2011 08:14

Morning All - interesting reading about everyone's symptoms. I think I'm getting very mild morning sickness (I'm hoping it is, as it's so mild I think I can live with it. I was really worried about being completely incapacitated). I am however getting some really bad headaches. I think they might be stress related (the last one came on after lunch with my mother-in-law!) but they are quite bad. What's the view on painkillers in pregnancy? I'm avoiding them at the moment but when I get back to work I think I might need them.

Hope everyone's having a lovely day

Dalrymps · 25/10/2011 08:23

Thugs?Grin I meant things..

Forgot to say, my booking in app is today at 9pm. I thought it'd be a good time to go as we can put ds's to bed then dh will stay with them at home whilst I just pop to the maternity unit in peace. The other option was 4pm which would have meant dragging both ds's along and them running all over the place probably. I have to ring at 8.30pm to check my app is still on and said midwife is there and had not swapped shifts or called in sick or anything.

Kayzr · 25/10/2011 08:39

Coops it's fine to take paracetamol. I have to take them almost daily as my lack of sleep is giving me headaches.

Does anyone else feel like time is dragging? I'm 6 weeks today and already feel like I've been pregnant for months.

millyv · 25/10/2011 08:52

mymama really worry to hear your news, I hope you rake care of yourself and we hear good news soon!

Eating little and often does seem to be the way forward, I only feel sick when I'm really hungry!

So tired today, DH and I were up talking baby last night and the next minute it was 11pm- so suffering this morning- feel like a zombie!

Hope you all have good days and welcome to all the newbies!

Dalrymps · 25/10/2011 09:00

Weird, I just wrote a message and it dissapearedConfused

I was saying something along the lines of.. Time is dragging but at the same time goes fast when you look back. It doesn't seem two mins since I arranged my booking in app and now it's here. Can't wait to get to 12 weeks so I can relax a bit and (hopefully) stop feeling as sick.

Loving all the late night snackingGrin I smiled to myself when I read about Starlight in bed with iPhone and mcdonalds. Perfect comboSmile I was also pleased to have inspired a chicken kebab purchaseGrin

Warlin · 25/10/2011 09:25

Morning all

I posted on here yest but my message seems to have disappeared!

I am almost 7 weeks and yes time is dragging in! I have sore breasts, am incredibly tired and very bloated. Had my trouser buttons undone yest when someone came into my office :) Hope they didn't notice!

We have been TTC for 1.5 years and had 6 months of clomid. I was booked to get my tubes checked for blockages tmw so thank god don't have to do that. Had booked the day off work so am just going to take it anyway and chill out with my puppy...bliss!

I have first scna next wed....wish it would hurry up as I need confirmation that there's something in here and I'm not imagining it! We have told close family but I am dying to tell my friends...maybe after scan.

It's my first so am very anxious...just want to get to 12 weeks and relax! Dalrymps, you are lucky!

Dalrymps · 25/10/2011 09:33

Welcome and massive congratulations WarlinGrin

Why am I lucky?Smile

Psammead · 25/10/2011 09:34

I am just popping my head around the corner in here!

I got my BFP yesterday and my EDD is July 1st, although DD came early so I would not be at all suprised to be more in the June camp than July.

Hello, everyone!

Dalrymps · 25/10/2011 09:42

Warlin I never relxed with my first! I was thinking earlier today about how I don't think there was a second during my first pg when I was not thinking about being pregnant. I was a total pregzilla Grin and was driving myself crazy by about 15 weeks, I just could not stop thinking about being pregnant, the baby, the symptoms etc etc etc. I'm hoping this one is more relaxed and that you are a bit saner than I was!

Rrrrayray · 25/10/2011 11:12

Hi all.

Lack of posting my end. Don't feel like massive amount to say, just absolutely wishing time to fly. Want to make that 12 weeks now. Feels so slow.

Had flu jab yesterday and one sore arm today.

DD at nursery this morning so just had a facial. So lush. Havent had one in forever.

Kayzr - think doppler may well worry you, we have one tucked away from first baby but i think they don't recommend using for a couple more weeks!!

Warlin - welcome & congratulations

Psammead - welcome!!!!

Feeling a bit constipated recently. Despite a fair amount of fruit & even the dreaded prune juice. Burgh!

Got to get on with some paperwork for our new house. Moving early next year.

Hope everyone has a nice, sick free day xx

openerofjars · 25/10/2011 12:03

Hi all,

Room for one more? I am 9+1 (I think) which makes me due on 1st June. I've been dithering about whether I count as May or June but finally decided to get off the fence.

I have 1 DS already, who is nearly 3, and DH and I haven't told anyone apart from my mum as she looks after DS on Wednesdays and we couldn't work out how to hide the puking etc from her. Plus, I am in maternity jeans now because my other trousers hurt.

My scan is booked in for 21st November, which still seems like aaaaaaaaages away at the moment, and I am surviving mostly on white bread, pregnancy vitamins, satsumas and bitching. I can't wait to get to 13 weeks and be able to tell everyone and in the meantime am terrified that the scan will pick up Something Awful. I am driving myself potty.

Please may I join your gang? I have cake. And my own bucket.

TeaandHobnobs · 25/10/2011 12:24

Hello all,

Just had my GP appointment. Very matter of fact doctor, but today I appreciated that Smile
My form has been faxed off to the hospital, so hoping to hear back soonish re 1st midwife appointment. Need to go get my bloods done at some point too. And I've filled in my form for prescription cost exemption.

Feels a little more real now! Although I guess yet more waiting to be done... Confused

LMP puts me at 8 weeks, but I'm pretty sure that's not right. Will wait for the scan though to adjust my EDD.

Hope everyone is feeling ok today. I'm a bit bored working at home today, especially as DH will be out late at yoga tonight. Even my cat has gone out and left me! He's grumpy because I wouldn't give him any more food yet, little piglet that he is.

callmemamma · 25/10/2011 12:25

Welcome openerofjars and Psammead! The more the merrier as they say!

I know how you feel Warlin I am only 5 weeks exactly today and believe me or not I envy everyone who is sick all the time it would put my mind at ease a little bit.I think about being pregnant all the time tbh I can hardly think of anything else...I stayed at home last week as had a bad cold, due to go back to work tomorrow(looking forward to it I must admit as it will give me a chance to think of other things)
So far not many obvious symptoms apart from tiredness which is only worrying as I felt the same last time when mc at 12 weeks.
Only dp and one of my friends knows as we've been ttc and were telling each other each month how it went.
Hope I'll start feeling proper pg soon!!!
I have midwife app booked for next Mon and hopefully can get early scan arranged then maybe will relax a bit(or not...)

Dalrymps · 25/10/2011 12:57

callme hang in there, I didn't feel sick or indeed pregnant at all till 6 weeks. I understand people wanting to feel sick, I'd be the same if I didn't but at the same time I feel so awful I wish it'd jut bog off!

Why can't I kist be like both my sils? Neither of them felt sick at all on their pregnancies and both had two healthy pregnancies.

Kayzr · 25/10/2011 13:09

Callme I know it's probably not much help but I had no sickness at all with my first 2 pregnancies.

Kveta · 25/10/2011 13:10

hi and welcome to the newcomers!

i'm not feeling pg at all today, no sickness, no nausea, just slightly tender boobs (and remaining excruciating to feed DS!). Am trying to distract myself - I remember with DS I panicked every morning if I woke up and my symptoms weren't immediately evident! luckily DS managed to distract me this morning by doing a spectacular back flip off the bed, and landing in a heap of screaming snot on the floor. DH and I spend a LOT of time rolling our eyes at his latest barking exploits.

I have done a poll of my friends with children btw (just an informal anecdotal one :o) and all the ones who have been sick as dogs have boys, and all the ones who had girls have had no symptoms at all. My sister and mother, of course, buck the trend by having no symptoms at all and in mum's case 3 girls and boy, and sister's case, a boy, but that is my current theory - bad morning sickness seems to occur more often with boys :o I am now panicking DH that we really do need to think of a boys name in the next 7 months!!

I am supposed to be working today and am shopping for shoes online instead. must do something productive though!

Kveta · 25/10/2011 13:36

I should say, I'm waiting for you all to come along and shriek 'BOLLOCKS' to my theory :o

also, 2 more pseudo-facts - firstly, I read a paragraph in a medical textbook in the states which said that morning sickness may be linked to the fertilised egg being from the right hand ovary. Not sure how much truth is in that (was some swedish researcher's hypothesis, and no matter how much I search PubMed, I cannot find any further evidence of it!!) but with DS my 1st scan showed I'd ovulated from the right hand ovary then.

2nd, a good cure for constipation - those little tins of fruit in syrup - if you eat one of them, syrup too, you should be looser :o guess what I had for pudding last night! and it seems true so far :o

right, must actually work...
