Mummywilliams So with you on that, and it seems, so are lots of other people. It just gets tedious after a while! Keep thinking of the bigger picture, and how far you've come. My doctor said 17-18% change of mc, and we've probably had most of those on this site already, so you've every chance of things being a ok.

Loopy you're v naughty (plus reading our thoughts)...

Littlemilla be proud of that bump - weunderstand!

Sympathy to everyone else who hasn't come out the other end of the scanky morning sickness yet!!!!

sesamesmith · 25/10/2010 22:12

Btw, has anyone had any REALLY WEIRD symptoms? What's your strangest?

So far:
a hair on my 2nd toe over an inch long
the weirdest oily skin in a strange place
a new milia on my face (permanent white
spot)

The usual, 36-hour, crazy cravings:
marmite, olives, taramasalata (safe - I
checked), fried eggs (cooked through,
of course), snickers bars

hey all, hope everybodys feeling ok, think there shud be lots of scan news this week :)

mummyw- so sorry to hear bout your loss, not surprised u feel the way u do, ive been feeling very emotional to, on sun DP went the gym and then last nite he played footy and even tho it was only a couple of hours alone and this is the first time he has played in years i felt so lonely and was almost crying (very irrational) also my DP says stupid things like yours when i was moaning that i felt sick all the time hed say "well u wanted another baby" or something along those lines grrr "or just be grateful your not being sick" gee thanks, wish they cud feel wot its like going thru pregnancy, hope u feel better today

loopy- gudluck for your apt let us know how u get on, i am also hoping my DD never decides to do her own haircut lol

sesame- hmmm not sure ive had any weird symptons just the usual ones (think its normal to get more hairy during pregnancy tho) oh but i have felt like omlettes a lot maybe r bodies need protein

cowboy- i feel similar to u, can stil fit in my normal clothes but there just not feeling comfortable

jbells · 26/10/2010 10:57

littlemilla- i am very similar height weight to u lets c where we end up lol

southpacificfish · 26/10/2010 11:41

Littlemilla I can guarantee you'll not give a fig about work come beginning of April!! lol you'll just want to be at home with your feet up.

Valz 14 month old twin boys!!! If you just have one baby this time it'll seem like a breeze! Wow, how long did it take you to get over the shock of the first scan last time??

sesame I laughed out loud about the hair on your toe!

MummyWilliams · 26/10/2010 11:45

loopy will be thinking of you today. Bring us back happy scan news. I thought the screening was for edwards, downs & another chromosomal abnormality - maybe I am wrong, but this is what I thought. I have asked the Magic8 ball if all is ok with loopy & baby and this is what it says 'without a doubt'.

jbells thank you. Yes you are right, they just don't truly understand the demands pregnancy places on our bodies & minds. Imagine, if they did have to go through it, I think they would be in bed for 9 months.

sesame nothing weird here. Although I have noticed that the hair on my legs seems thicker or stubblier (if there is such a word).

Am still feeling down, although a little better than yesterday Smile

Hiya,
Just back from a fabulous weekend with my brother in N wales. Going to attempt to catch up while DD is asleep this afternoon.

Hope everyone is doing ok x

Rollercoasteryears · 26/10/2010 15:05

Hi everyone,

MummyWilliams poor you feeling so down, I can empathise (though 2 weeks off work and the rest of this week off too has worked wonders for my mood!). Are you feeling any better today? Hope so. My DH is generally very supportive and manages not to make stupid comments, but it's clear that he doesn't really understand. I do remember that he was a lot more protective of me as my bump got bigger last time, when I feel that I really need the support etc in the early weeks/months. I think they can grasp that it's tiring etc carrying round an enormous bump, but when you look largely no different, it's hard for them to understand just how exhausted and emotionally drained we can be!

Valz welcome! Can't imagine how tiring it must be running around after two toddlers at the moment...

Loopy I reckon you'll just be coming out of your scan about now. What did you decide in the end? Hope all's well. Was v amused by your DD's exploits!

It was my DS' second birthday yesterday, we had such a lovely day. DH and I were both off work and after he'd gone to bed on Sunday, we filled his playroom with balloons and his presents - his face when he came down yesterday morning was just a joy Grin. My mum and DH's parents came up in the afternoon for a birthday tea and we all had a lovely time sitting round gazing adoringly at DS (who was loving the attention!) and eating chocolate fingers and iced gems... I was absolutely shattered by the end of the day but we all had such a lovely day Smile

loopy fantastic. Can't wait for the catch up later. My DD with the help of DS cut her hair, 2 weeks before becoming a bridesmaid. Thankfully it was sorted by the hairdresser Hmm

jbells that's funny that thread. I remember very vividly the day my daughter fell off her changing unit at 4 months onto the hard wooden floor Shock Thing is I was standing right next to who when it happened Confused

rollercoaster thanks for your support. It's really appreciated. Your DS birthday sounds really lovely. I still do those sorts of things for my children and they are 9 and 7.

runningmonkey i love wales, so picturesque, although i've never been to N Wales only the South and south west cost. Hope you had a lovely time.

tiredandgrumpy · 26/10/2010 18:39

Great to hear people are slowly overcoming the first trimester blues. Am still occasionally queasy (12 weeks) but feel so much better than just a week ago.

I'd been wondering - am not sure anyone ever filled in the form for free prescriptions etc for me. What is the process? Despite this being my 3rd successful pg (touch wood), it's been a while and I just can't remember.

I have my scan next Tuesday. I won't be surprised if it shows 2 little beans in there. Have felt so much sicker and fatter this time round. Am generally pretty skinny but already have a bump that makes me look nearly 5 months gone! The thought fills me with dread as I only agreed to dc3 reluctantly and suspect even one more dc might push me over the edge, let alone 2!

valz · 26/10/2010 19:18

mummyW hope u start feeling a bit better soon, it must be hard not to worry when you have experienced a loss. try to keep a positive about this pregnancy though, u will only stress yourself when worrying.

roller its not too bad, they are stuck in everything i just let them at it, downside is my house is upside down and i havent the energy to clean it lol

south i wasnt shocked at all because i had been in for early scan last time due to bleeding so i had knew early on there were two sacs but at 7 weeks they only saw one heartbeat and they told me sometimes twins are concieved but one can mc so when i returned at 9 weeks for a scan and the two heartbeats were seen i was very relieved.

my dating scan came today its next wednesday so im looking forward to that. Sickness hasnt been too bad today maybe its going early this time....fingers crossed :)

runningmonkey · 26/10/2010 20:11

Evening all,
sorry didn't maje it back this afternoon to post but did read through everything before dd woke up!

Glad there is lots of nice scan news especially for you loopy

hello to all the new people :)

tinwe fabulous dress! V sim to the one I wore for my wedding :) hope you can get it altered ok - I imagine a good dressmaker should be able to sort it. Keep the wedding chat coming, I love it!

Sorry you have been feeling down mummyw i can't imagine what you must be going thro so go easy on yourself and unload here if it helps.

Sorry to those still feeling rough - I have been panicking as my nausea has all but gone but am still suffering with horrendous insomnia and needing to pee constantly. I am just counting the hours until scan on fri now.

Am on phone at mo so difficult to scan back and see what else I meant to catch up on sorry if I've missed anyone and for the probable typos!!

runningmonkey · 26/10/2010 20:19

Oh that was it!!

mummyw I am actually from s Wales but one of my brothers moved to n Wales about 5 yrs ago. He lives literally at the bottom of snowdon and it is sooooo beautiful I would move there in an instant (or s Wales for that matter :o) We had such a beautiful weather so did some walking and my dd loved being outside in the hills and bring spoilt by her adoring uncle :) just wish he and the countryside he lives in wasn't 4.5 hours away!

cowboylover · 26/10/2010 20:48

mummyW hope all is a little better. I have been feeling down today and just getting the feeling im not good enough at anything I am doing. I think my DH and Mum have turned into my cheerleading support recently as I need it more than ever!

I am looking forward to my 2nd scan which is 2 weeks today. My friend had her 12 week scan today had so much more detail than mine at 9 weeks so should be good [hsmile]

zinnia · 26/10/2010 21:09

Hello all, been away for a few days on glamorous Florence trip (was lovely) and then madly catching up with work (not lovely at all).

Also skim reading thread, so not too many name checks but MummyW sorry to hear you're having such a hard time, but feel free to unload the worry here any time. Every day is a day to the good.

Tinwe lovely dress, I'm sure your dressmaker will work her magic.

Loopy great news about your scan, and Grin for your dd's haircut. For what it's worth I'd cut it yourself.

Not much to report over here, except news is slooowly spreading at work, which is a relief. Hate having to tell people myself, so glad the bush telegraph is finally getting going. My boss is still being amazing and mat leave timing is working out OK (as far as it can be when both colleague and myself will be off at pretty much the same time).

Am v v stressed though as looks like we will have to move house twice between now and May, renting whilst we try to find somewhere to buy. My shoulder muscles have seized up completely, what I wouldn't give for a proper massage. Are we allowed massages when we're pg?

Tinwe · 26/10/2010 21:25

Evening! How is everyone feeling today? How's the nausea jbells and welshcakes? Anyone still feeling low? Remember you're free to moan on here when DPs are rubbish :) Think the darker days aren't helping mood either...

Welcome Valz

Good to hear everyone's various good news.

Thanks ladies for all the compliments about the dress... Only hope I can still wear it on 21-12! Hopefully you'll be right about the dress being easily alterable cowboylover Good taste sesame smith- Maggie Sottero are lovely dresses :) Since you've said you don't mind a little wedding chat, my current wedding dilemma is the table decorations, favors etc. Thinking of crackers to get conversation going, labeling them and using them as place name markers, table dec is a metallic plate with church candles and holly and ivy, and red and white candy canes with ribbon and fancy labels for favors as they're the wedding colours and won't be too expensive- just don't want it to look too much like a Christmas party night! What do you all think? By the way Loopy the more stressed I get with all the fuss and planning, particularly when I'm feeling rough at the moment and worried about money when the bean is born, the more I wish I'd had a small do. I'm sure I'd feel otherwise and fancy something bigger if I did have a small do, but mainly we planned a bigger do to keep our family happy!

Nervous about scan tomorrow too - slept badly last night with vivid dreams about it and dreading tonight now too. Much sympathy with sleep issues southpacific, runningmonkey and loopy, hoping this is a first trimester thing which will improve.

Good luck with test results cowboylover

Weird symptoms - horrendously uncomfortable and loud sporadic hiccups. Several times a day but just one or two at a time then nothing for another hours or so.

I'm getting very interested in a home birth and DP has said he'll support me with my choice whatever it is but my mum's not keen for a first birth as she thinks it's too risky, especially as we live about 40 mins from hospital. Any idea whether medical services will be supportive or not?

My first few pieces of maternity gear have arrived from ebay! Not much available in my size (14/16) though, Mummy Williams

Anyway, off to bed now, goodnight all :)

QwertyQueen · 26/10/2010 22:01

Hi all,
So good to hear all the good scan stories since I was last on line.
My scan is on Friday - excited and nervous...
Work is hectic until Friday so I should manage to stay distracted.

Nausea has all but gone now, whew,
Am feeling lots of tingling on the left hand side and am sure it is baby flutters :D
I hope so!

gotta dash, will catch up with all your posts tomorrow

Just a quick one tonight - good to hear people are getting good news :)

Tinwe - gorgeous dress! I fancied the idea of a christmas wedding Grin (but DH likes to do everything in the most boring average and unremarkable way possible Hmm)

I had a shocking moment the other night...
I suddenly needed to be sick when in the kitchen, but I already needed the loo...guess what happened next Blush
After carrying my receptacle upstairs to tidy up, I had to change my jeans. Absolutely mortified!
DO YOUR PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES GALS!!

I had a home birth for my first baby, and it all went fine :)
Not sure how much I can comment on the other elements (my hospital, for example, is closer than yours), but certainly don't be put off by the fact it's your first birth. That homebirth website is awesome, and full of information and research to help you make a decision you're comfortable with.

I feel relieved to have reached 10 weeks - feels like a bit of a milestone. A decent-sized number!
And of course - my bean goes from classed as 'embryo' to 'foetus' this week!
Still doesn't feel quite real. Can't wait to see it waving and kicking about next week.

jbells · 27/10/2010 10:48

morning all

thell- i have been doing my pelvic floor exercises since having DD never sure whether im doing them right or if there actually working tho Confused

loopy- so glad scan went well for u :) it does make me furious when DP comes out with comments like that, the last time he sed it i sed " wot r u going to do when im crying in birth in pain say u wanted another baby!!!" he sed dont be stupid, can u imagine id kill him lol its so annoying yes we do want a baby but we didnt ask for the sickness and exhaustion, hormones etc that come with it we just have to put up with that, im hoping that as i get fatter it will seem more real to him i do agree untill u look a lot different they find it hard to grasp that u r actually going thru anything, not surprised your getting your head round 4, im still getting my head round how to manage 2 hehe

qwerty- my scan is friday to :) wot time is yours?

tinwe- nausea is still slowly improving still got appetite that is up and down hungry all the time but nothing seems very appealing, apart from burger and chips all i seem to want to eat lol, going to end up a whale if i carry on like that tho, and your wedding decor sound lovely and personally i dont think theres anything wrong with it being a bit xmasey, it is a dec wedding after all :)

zinnia- so jelous of your trip to florence, i def want to fit in a child free nite somewhere b4 baby is born even if its not far from where i live

cowboy-sending a nice slice of chocolate cake to help u feel better :)

runningmonkey- wot time is your scan on friday? hopefully friday will be gud news all round

mummyw- i also remember vividly the morning DD rolled off my bed :( felt so guilty, she had been up most the nite so in morning bought her into my bed with me to try and doze together i must have just slipped into sleep when i heard bang and then a scream needless to say i learnt my lesson

jbells · 27/10/2010 10:50

right well i have dropped DD of at nursey so plan today is seems im not in work, catch up on sum housework, return sum stuff back to shops then a trip to cosco with my mum and prob get sum lunch there, but b4 that a nice peacefull shower, going to enjoy being able to stay in longer than 2 minutes :)

hope everyone has a good day speak to u all later

southpacificfish · 27/10/2010 11:59

Gosh so much happens on here it's hard to keep track! Thell I don't know about you, but I have had to stand still when I sneeze since having DD and I did my pelvic floor and still do when I remember! Much sympathy on the jean changing front!

mummyW and Jbells Also have had floor incident with DD, I went to grab her bottle out of the kitchen whilst she was sitting on the sofa and she leant forward to stroke the dog and plunged head first onto wooden floor. Felt SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO guilty, but she was fine!

13+3 today and have just thrown up again. Really don't want this sickness to go on until I give birth, that would be just awful!! On the positive front, perhaps it's a boy this time!

Good luck with anyone having scans and Loopy great to see all is still ok with you.
