Tinwe that is a truly lovely dress! I'm getting wedding envy looking at it - we got married in May this year and I had such an amazing day, enjoy every minute of it! It already feels like years ago, almost as though it's a dream that never really happened. I'm also happy to hear any more wedding detail you care to offer up - no need to feel you have to restrict the thread to a comparison of symptoms and anxieties! (not that that's not great, but you hopefully know what I mean...)

loopy and pistachio I may well have some questions for both of you re home birth in due course - it'll be my first time and I'm sure I'll have lots of silly questions nearer the time!

loopy glad to have said something helpful!

Hi DMC glad all ok with you. Jojo Maman Bebe's has some v nice jumpers and cardigans in at the moment in rich plum and autumn colours if that floats your boat at all... They also do free P&P if there's not one near you.

cowboylover · 24/10/2010 16:07

Loopymumsy: Its full name is Alpha1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Bit of a mouthful so either Alpha1 or A1AD) Google away! Its nice you take an interest. www.alpha-1foundation.org/ has some useful but easy to understand stuff about it. I found out I was effected last yeatr when my Dad my diagnosed so its taken me as a bit of a shock after years of unknown but not linked illnesses! I am hopeful for this pregnancy that all will be well but does make me feel a little odd when I got see a Dr or medical professional and they ask me what it is so I have learned for my own good to be fwell informed and point them in the right direction!

Tinwe Dont feel the need to hold back on the wedding talk as I always have time to listen to a wedding story! I got married in April and I had the most fun in the 12 months leading up to our magic day in Mexico. Your dress is gorgeous and the pleating at the waist it ideal for you new shape. My dressmaker said Maggie dresses are a dream to alter as they have good seam allowance so good to change.

At home setill feeling tired but not as bad today, my DH is nights tonight and Mum has offered to come around to keep me company but Im considering being unsocable and staying in on my own for an early night! Will see how it goes x

Tinwe- wot a lovely dress feel free to talk away about your wedding u know all woman love wedding talk :o

DMC- glad your feeling better, i am still touch and go half a day ill feel ok and then the nausea will just hit me agen :( enjoy your scan on weds mine is friday will be such a relief to get it over and done with, wish they did them earlier than 12 wks

loopy- pistatio, the main thing that puts me off home birth is that with my first it was touch and go for c-section and i had to be cut and forceps, im hoping 2nd time round wont be as coplicated

MummyWilliams · 24/10/2010 19:44

Hello All!

Welcome and congratulations pistachio.

Glad you all like our new home Grin

Sorry I've not been around for a few days, have been shattered. Work has been taking all my energy and I only work 18 hours a week Hmm

Everything ok here, past two days I have felt the nausea easing but I am just so, so tired. I feel bad for saying this because some are struggling with sleep, but I am out like a light, up twice for a wee, but feel like I've been drugged - you know that heavy, heavy feeling.

I was tidying DD's room today, she has one of those Magic8 balls. You ask it a question, shake it and it gives you an answer. I know this sounds really silly, but I asked if this baby will be ok. It's answer was 'Without A Doubt', phew! I know its only a toy, but anything helps - how daft is that?

tinwe your dress looks stunning. Yes I like wedding talk too, never been married, but hope to one day - A girl can dream!

loopy my opinion and it is just my opinion. I am having all the standard tests. If something comes up, I would probably have further investigations (at a risk I know). But I cannot risk the stablity of our current family situation. If there was a problem, I wouldn't know if I would terminate or not, I don't think I could decide unless, heaven forbid, I should be confronted with that decision. What I do know, is that I need to have all the information I possibly can? I don't want doubt's, fullstop. I don't think that has helped you in anyway has it???

Is anyone else having a planned caesarean? I am due, thanks to a man shaped pelvis Shock which was discovered after a 2 day induced labour with my first.

Everyone who is maternity clothes shopping, I really cannot fault H&M, great prices too. Also eBay, eBay, eBay.

Being called for dinner now, be back later.

loopy- not as far away as friday Wink hmmm wot u say makes sense about suroundings, DD was back to back which had slowed labour down a lot and after around 30 hours i was very tired which may have been y the help was needed, my main hate wasnt the delivery in the hosp it was the fact that they made me stay on mat ward for 3 days afta grrrr all i wanted was to go home oh and the fact they left a swab in me for ten days :(

MummyWilliams · 24/10/2010 20:34

and not as far away as next monday (1st) Envy

Hi to everyone, iv not been on for ages. Had a really difficult home life with my poorly dad. Missed catching up though :)

Lovely to hear of some many successful scans since i was last here. Can't wait to hear more happy news too plus news of perhaps twins for someone?? No twins as yet right?

Im inbetween normal clothes and maternity at the moment. Feel a little at that 'fat' stage where my normal clothes are a little tight but maternity are too big Hmm

Been definately feeling fluttering movements for a while now. Just had a definte couple of prods a moment ago, was thinking before it was wind but am pretty confident it is a wriggling baby. Am 13 + 4 today so i know its extremely early but i felt them very early with ds at around 15/16 weeks.

Morning sickness has been gone for about a week now and can finally face the prospect of food again!

cowboylover · 24/10/2010 21:05

loopy- Waiting for his test results to come back now, they said it may take up to 8 weeks as they have been sent to Ireland but we put a note in explaining the urgency for us so hopefully they will come quicker! At best our chances are 50/50 but im positive.

I am going to make the most of having the house to myself and going to bed soon if I can tear myself away from David Tenant on Single Father which is bound to make me cry!

southpacificfish · 24/10/2010 21:34

Tinwe and Loopy putting my hand up to having sleep issues too! Seem to go to sleep ok and then wake up for a loo break (thankfully only a couple a night now) and then can't go back to sleep for ages. Stopped sleeping in the daytime now too but am not too tired thank God. starting to get headaches though, remember this with DD so they shouldn't last longer than a month or so.

Re scanning and blood tests I didn't really know there was much of an option so I just sort of go along with it. Think I would rather have some idea of any abnormalities though.

Lots of wedding talk please, I have been putting it off until we've finished having children so that they are all born out of wedlock and none of them are any different! lol, but I will have to get around to it soon ;)

Morning All!

loopy I've had mine for some time now, it arrived after about 10 days, if I remember. I asked the Magic8 your question Smile the answer is 'Reply hazy, try again!'. So I tried again, and this was the answer 'Signs point to yes!' Hee hee! Grin

yorkstar sorry to hear about your dad, hope he is feeling much better soon.

HALF TERM is a good thing. SUMMER TERM is a long drawn out process. I managed to have half an hour lie in this am Grin. Unfortunately DD had sick bug saturday night/sunday morning, she also has a cold too! Poor thing. So I'm waiting to see if any of us get this nasty bug that has been going around. Have woken with terrible sore throat this morning. Anyway, on with the day...

Hi Ladies, Im looking to join ya's, this is my second pregnancy, ive calculated my due date to be possibly 11-13th May however im still waiting word back on my booking in scan so no official date yet. i have twin boys they are 14 1/2 months and great fun. had bad morning sickness last time and it is back with the vengence, constant turn in my stomach and throw up at some point every day-it lasts all day long. i feel like im eating all the time and only ever get relief from the ms when im in bed...sleeping sound as a bell. never noticed tiredness last time but def have it now, could never have lay down during day but id sleep like a log if i put my head down now, apart from the two bambinos that would be trying to crawl over the top of me. looking forward to the second trimester and hopefully the sickness will dissappear in the next month or so, really looking forward to my scan and sharing all our stories.

jbells · 25/10/2010 13:22

welcome valz :) wow nice to have someone with twins to share experiences with if anyones scans come back that there having twins, did u have a feeling u were having twins last time or was it a shock, as for tiredness i find it hard enuf running round after 1 18 month DD so can only imagine wot it wud be like running round after 2 this age , hope your sickness subsides soon, i have had terrible nausea that has just this week started subsiding but luckily never actually was sick, hope u get a date for scan soon

Hi all

Another prospective home-birther here. My first labour was v straightforward althgouh I was late and induced (just pessary and mw broke my waters). So hoping i am just as lucky this time round. We are close to the hospital so that makes me more relaxed about it. MW was v positive about it at my booking appt. Havne't quite got my head round the logistics though.

We don't get nuchal scans on nhs here so I've got a private one booked next week and then the week after is the NHS dating scan.

I am feeling loads better most of the time then nausea or exhaustion hits me and the retching is really evil now. Lots of acid at 2am. Followed by the 3am wee. Then DS yelling at 5am with a nightmare.

I've lost weight despite eating heartily so think the early gain must have been bloating. Back in non-maternity jeans but without a belt.

cowboylover · 25/10/2010 18:49

Loopymumsy its definatly is in our case and if LO is a carrier they can monitor them straight away as they are lesws effected but still can have issues. Checking the post like a crazy lady now even thought I know its bound to be a few more weeks for the results to arrive but cant help myself!

I really feel for you all that have more young children already and especially those with more than one as I am just looking after myself and dont think I could cope with more than that Smile

MummyWilliams · 25/10/2010 19:00

valz hello & welcome.

loopy no I didn't send mine back, although it had crossed my mind too that when they saw yet another application they would think 'WTF'.

I've had a bit of an emotional breakdown today. DP doesn't understand - just barks at me. I said to him that 'I'm not happy', he asked me why, I said 'I'm not happy being pregnant'. He said 'there is a saying, be careful of what you wish for'. I've had a massive cry. I think it's mainly due to stress (whispers gently, so not too many people hear 'because of losing our little boy'). I just feel like I am waiting for the pregnancy to end. Sorry I'm not sure if I should be bringing our happy cheerful thread down like this. But I do feel very, very down. Hope it will pass v. quickly. I've had an afternoon nap, still feel really tired and grumpy.

Lifescomplicated I am due on the 25th April but still lingering on this thread. I am actually hoping for a May baby...I don't know why, but I like the ring of May vs April Blush.

I had my scan a week ago and sort of enjoying being 'out'. I work in a big company and so slowly telling more and more people. I have got slight embarassment which I cannot explain. First baby and sort of crap timing. Feeling like I've been written off a bit, but not sure if my hormones are just making me more sensitive. Have to keep on telling myself that come May/June I won't give a flying fig about work.

Aside from that tho everything is looking up. Thought I had a bump and was trying to show it off, but DH told me I just looked like i'd had a couple of roasts. I am only 5ft 1 and just under 9st. Still not put on weight but out of many of the normal clothes...but still not in maternity. Grrr. Splashed on some second hand 7 forallmankind jeans from a dress agency place, but they're too big. SO annoying.

Anyway...sorry for the waffle. SO happy to hear that everyone is chugging along well. Good luck for everyone's scans over the coming weeks - it's MAGIC!

cowboylover · 25/10/2010 21:11

LittleMilla Im feeling that with work as well. I just dont know if im good at my job at the moment which is not something I normally suffer from in work (unlike the rest of my life!) I think its hormones or hope it is or they really are instantly overlooking me!

I just went a bit crazy on ebay on bought a lot more maternity clothes. I just like feeling like I still have some room in the as 'normal' clothes I just feel like a fatty.

Loopymumsy That sounds so funny! My niece did that and I had to try so hard not to laugh when I saw her, I agree with some of the posers and think its worth a trip to the hairdressers
