GoodVibrations · 18/09/2010 20:06

Congrats Barbie! I'm technically due end of May (though not quite sure of the date) but would like to join you if that's ok :)

BFP on Tuesday and took another one just in case on Wednesday. Another BFP so hurray!.

Already have one DD, 20 months. How about you?.

BarbieLovesKen · 18/09/2010 20:19

Oooh so delighted!! didnt think I would get a reply! huge congratulations!!!

I have one DD, who will be 5 in October and DS who will be just 8 months on the 25th!.

Did have a miscarraige at the beginning of 2009, before pregnant with ds so a little nervous at the minute.

Just knew I was pregnant, literally from the 1st or 2nd day after dtd, which was really strange as Id often heard of that and thought "yeah right" Hmm very strong symptoms already all week long including sickness and abdominal stretching type pains, metallic taste in mouthh etc.. so Im hoping this is all a good sign!!!

GoodVibrations · 18/09/2010 20:41

Wow you will have your hands full!!

Sorry to hear of your miscarriage, I can understand why you are a nervous. I had very few problems last time but am still worrying, its very early days.

I have been feeling sick aswell which is a good sign (and an excuse to eat lots of biscuits!), but the give away for me was a broken vein on my face. When I was last pg it became really prominent due to the increase in bloodflow. I usually hate it but now it makes me smile :)

Hope you're enjoying your evening. I've just finished a huge steak (well done of course, yawn) with a glass of tonic instead of red wine (also yawn) Grin

Oh and nice to meet you!

mrshedgie · 20/09/2010 16:57

Hi,

I too just got a faint positive on 2 cheapies, so I'm tentatively joining in. I'm new here, my name's Yvonne, and I already have four children plus two stepchildren full time...this is a cast-caution-to-the-wind-lets-have-a-swansong-baby, lol. I must be bonkers.

Congrats to all new here, best wishes to you for a healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy.

mrshedgie · 20/09/2010 17:00

Wanted to add that I got a BFP on what I think is 11 DPO, too, so I must be due around the 1st or 2nd of June. The 2nd is a bit of a sad date for us as we lost DH's mum on that date last year.:-(

Still, glad to be expecting, I hope all goes well. Only symptom is abdominal twinges ,and a bit more tired than usual.

GoodVibrations · 20/09/2010 19:55

Hello mrshedgie and congratulations!! Am I reading your thread correctly, is this going to be #7???!!!! If so then yes you are bonkers! But obviously happy with it!

I'm feeling rather sick today, which I'm actually happy about as was beginning to have those niggling doubts. Was the test really positive? (ok I did 2, both +ve). I have no symptoms compared to last time (but I didn't find out until 6 weeks last time). Hmmmm. Promised myself I wasn't going to worry this time but already 12 weeks seems miles away!

mrshedgie · 20/09/2010 21:31

Hi Goodvibrations

sorry you're feeling sickly, but congrats!

This will indeed be #7 in our household, but only (only, lol) my 5th. My two eldest stepdaughters are 16 and 15 now, so they are very helpful at times. It's interesting having kids all in different stages of development...but a challenge at the same time.

It still seems a but surreal, and I know I'll be anxious to get through the early weeks, avoid miscarriage, ectopic, etc.One of my pregnancies, after a loss at 12 weeks, I hired a doppler so I could listen to my baby's heartbeat for reassurance...which was nice. I first heard it around 9 weeks.Maybe I'll do that again this time, if I get past the first 8 weeks.

CuppaTeaJanice · 21/09/2010 08:39

Hi Everybody,

Can I join you? I got a BFP yesterday, and although the due date calculators on the internet give me a date at the very end of May, I figured the May lot all know each other already and I'd rather be part of the June crew!!!

I have a DS who is 2.5. Not many symptoms yet, except a craving for tuna and pilchards Hmm and nearly yakking up after dinner the other night!!

Smile
BarbieLovesKen · 21/09/2010 09:52

Goodvibrations, mrshedgie and CuppaTeaJanice - how are you all this morning??

Am so glad we seem to be building up a lovely little group Smile

MrsHedgie, am sorry to hear about you dh's mum. Sad still, isnt it lovely that the date could possibly be turned into a good memory, which, Im sure is what she would have wanted.

Goodvibrations - delighted to hear your feeling sick Wink. I know exactly what you mean about doubting test etc though, I think its just the sinking in part. As sick as I've been I took a test again this morning just to make sure Grin.

CuppaTeaJanice - lovely to "meet" you!! and congratulations!!!!!

I am so sick!!! I just cant understand it!! With my other 3 pregnancies I honestly didnt even know I was pregnant at this stage. (Im not 4 weeks until tomorrow) and literally all week I have been so sick, so queasy, stretchy pains and beyond exhausted that I just cant believe it. Oh well, Im taking it as a good sign as with MC I had no symptoms at all - felt waaay too good, ifykwim. Has anyone else ever experienced these early symptoms?

OP posts:
CuppaTeaJanice · 21/09/2010 11:25

Hi Barbie! Good thanks!

I've had some brief stabbing pains a few days ago - had them last time too, so figure it might be the egg implanting or something? I lost my appetite at the weekend but thought that might have been because I was on tenterhooks waiting for Auntie Flo to appear!!

Sorry you're feeling so sick - twins, maybe?!!!Wink

So what happens in these mumsnet antenatal groups? Do we just chat about stuff for the next 8 months? I looked at a couple of the other groups and one was just a list of everybodys ages and due dates! I'm sure we can make ours a bit more fun than that!!

Grin
BarbieLovesKen · 21/09/2010 11:35

delighted to hear it cuppatea Smile

I had those stabbing pains too! almost from the get-go. Think your right - must be implantation or stretching maybe. Wish I would loose my damn appetite! Each time Im pregnant I put on ridiculous weight plus I've stopped smoking so think Im eating more.

(am ignoring the twins comment... la la la la!! la la!!....)

I suppose we do! we'll know eachother inside out by the time these babies arrive!!. I think I joined one half way through when pregnant with ds but lost the run of it and never went back to it..

More fun? what do have in mind?? Grin

mrshedgie · 21/09/2010 19:42

Okay, today I feel totally knackered...crampy and generally off colour, but mainly knackered!
I took another test and the line was a bit darker.
Hello CuppaTeaJanice, and congrats!

BarbieLovesKen · 21/09/2010 19:50

Oh you poor thing! sorry to hear your feeling miserable Sad that said, its a good thing!! Smile

GoodVibrations · 21/09/2010 21:24

Evening ladies. Well I'm having possibly the worst week of my life (and not an exageration I'm afraid). My boss is trying to force me out of my job (despite me having good appraisals) because I have dared to stand up to her on some really important issues. It is very serious and HR are involved now, but I am not sure what they will do. She knows I'm pg but is piling on the pressure. I have hardly eaten or slept all week :( I am trying so hard to be strong for the sake of baby but am really struggling and have spent all day in tears. The more I worry about the damage this could do to baby, the more upset I become, I feel like it is a vicious circle.

Well, sorry to offload all of this, and I hope you are all having a better evening than I am! On the plus side I did do another test today (just to make sure) and it was a nice strong positive, so that has cheered me up.

CuppaTeaJanice · 22/09/2010 08:25

Sad Goodvibrations. How horrible for you, your boss sounds awful. I hope HR can fight your corner and put her in her place. Will they be able to sort it out quickly so you can feel less stressed?

It sounds like you need to pamper yourself a bit - could you do something fun and relaxing this weekend to take your mind off all the crap at work?

BarbieLovesKen · 22/09/2010 10:32

Oh GoodVibrations, Im so sorry your having such a horrible time of it Sad. I can really, really sympatise with you and its definately not something you need while your pregnant (last year when I was pregnant with DS, my line manager tried to force me out of job despite very good appraisals because I was pregnant Shock)

You dont need the stress and worry of it all at the minute. Please try and eat, even if its rubbish, you need to.

Dont worry about the upset, I worried myself sick during my last pregnancy about the effects of stress on the baby but was assured all would be fine on numerous occasions.

Oh Ill really cross my fingers that everything works out. Whats going to happen now? are HR calling a meeting? and when?

(CuppaTeaJanice - hope your well x)

SO sorry to hear about your week GoodVibrations..it seems that everything happens at once. I was visiting my Nan late last night, because I got a call saying she was close to passing away. I didn't want to leave it till morning...she was stable, but it was upsetting.

I don't think you'll do any harm to baby, so try not to worry, just make sure you're getting rest and eating enough if you can.

GoodVibrations · 22/09/2010 20:14

Thanks everyone, I am feeling better today (a 2 hour long bath helped!). I have taken legal advice as what she is doing is bullying and indirect sex discrimination (she knows I'm pg and has intentionally doubled my workload, told my I have to work evenings & weekend and have to travel abroad).

HR have been useless as the 'support' is basically advising my boss. I have gone to someone else in HR now and am waiting to hear back as they have to conduct a health & safety risk assessment for pg women. I am also going to raise a grievance against my boss. If I was not pg I would just resign.

Janice - I asked them to be quick as I was pg and stressed and they delayed the meeting by an extra 4 days Shock

Barbie - sorry that you went through something similar, and because you were pg aswell, you don't think things like that go on anymore. It's a relief to know that your stress didn't affect the baby

mrshedgie - poor you, that sounds very upsetting, how are you today?

Gosh I think we all need a bit of cheering up. Now if only we could turn to wine!

How are you all this evening?. My symptoms seemed to have increased, I am feeling very sick most of the day and my tummy is feeling tight and sore.

I am thinking of having an early scan, have any of you done that before?. I had one last time due to suspected ectopic (it was not, I had a large ovarian cyst) and I'm not sure I want to wait until 12 weeks this time to see a heartbeat.

This is by far my longest ever post on mn!

mrshedgie · 23/09/2010 09:11

HI everyone,

GoodVibrations,

I hope everything works to your advantage...sounds awful. My Nan is still going, but she'll probably pass away soon.I was upset, but I'm alright.

I keep getting some slightly stronger lines on cheap HPT's and OPK's, and I have started to feel just slightly queasy in the morning, though not bad enough that I would call it morning sickness yet (that didn't happen till about 6 weeks with the others).

When I was nervous about the heartbeat last time, I hired a doppler from about 9 weeks (heard the heartbeat)because I'd had an early scan and was nervous that something would go wrong because I'd had two missed miscarriages at 19 weeks(really at 11 weeks, it was a partial molar) and 12 weeks. The doppler really helped.

Igglybuff · 23/09/2010 16:23

Hello everyone. Can I join? I got a BFP today and am in shock but excited. I already have an 11 month DS and as I'm still BF hadn't quite expected to get pregnant again so soon Shock

Fingers crossed we all get to the 12 weeks and then it'll be nice to list out our due dates etc so we can compare? I'm very nervous - am paranoid about this sort of thing - so not going to get too excited just yet (although I am Grin)

CuppaTeaJanice · 23/09/2010 18:33

Welcome and congratulations Igglybuff! I had a feeling someone new might be joining today - had visions of mumsnetters around the country all peeing on sticks!!!

GoodV - how was work today? Any progress with the bitch from hell your boss?

MrsH - I hope your Nan is comfortable today. It's so difficult to see someone you love slipping away. I'm sure she appreciates you being there for her.

Barbie - how are you doing today?

deliakate · 23/09/2010 19:50

Hi, congrats to everyone! We also got a (faint) bfp today, at 11 dpo, which is relief as I've spent £s on little white sticks so far this month!

Have a DS of 14 months, who was the first person I told, obv.

Tres excited. And liking the sound of the 2 hour long bath GoodV, hope all is well.

CuppaTeaJanice · 23/09/2010 20:13

Hi deliakate, welcome to the June Crew!! Those sticks are crazy prices aren't they - I had to get posh Clearblue ones as Sainsbury's seem to have stopped doing their own brand. Ten whole pounds for 2!!!!! Luckily it was a BFP first time I tested!

GoodVibrations · 23/09/2010 21:34

Welcome Igglybuff and deliakate and congratulations!

I feel like I'm on an emotional roller coaster, one minute I'm fine and laughing the next I'm in tears. My hormones are plaving havoc! I'm also trying to write a grievance about my boss but I'm really struggling, and quite scared too. I really don't need this at the moment and just wish it would go away :(

I am feeling rather pg though today which is good. Morning sickness is even worse and my tummy feels strange and bloated.

Has anyone else lost their appetite?. Last time I was pg I was an eating machine, honestly any food that crossed my path was devoured. My boss called me a hoover Blush But this time I'm just not interested in food at all, especially in the morning I just can't face it.

Hope you're all well this evening :)

Igglybuff · 24/09/2010 07:49

Hi and thank you. Congratulations to you all too!

GodoVibrations I'm very thirsty, like last time, but not particularly hungry. I had bad morning sickness and eating was the only thing that helped. No sign of sickness yet - but it didn't kick in til 6 weeks.

I bought the clearblue fertility sticks (£20) then got my BFP.
