Here's the new thread for the September 2010 arrivals - though some babies have already come in July and August, and maybe more to come in August before we're done with this month...

Thanks Comix - just marking the new thread!

bellabelly · 19/08/2010 09:02

Me too, morning all!

skyeplusbump · 19/08/2010 09:02

thanks! how is everyone this morning?

my usually lovley sweet dd has turned into a monster from the deep the last week...anyone been through this? REALLY hoping it's just a stage! Grin Sad Grin

parkj83 · 19/08/2010 09:04

Morning!

How is everyone feeling?

I had a funny night last night - I kept waking up swearing blue murder that I could feel my waters had broken, but every time I checked, it's all bone dry Hmm

Anyone else experienced this??

parkj83 · 19/08/2010 09:09

Haha! x-post Skye :)

Yup, my DS is having more and more off days. He and DH are fighting like mad in the evenings especially - DH comes home from work, and finds ways to wind him up something chronic, then wonders why DS snaps and kicks off...!

I've offloaded him on my parents for a couple of days, and then he goes to my MIL's for another 3 days on sunday. Phew!

He's actually wishing to go back to school bless him. He's missing all his friends.

cinnamongreyhound · 19/08/2010 09:37

Me too skyeplusbump, we had a horrible weekend with DS having tantrums over nothing and Monday he was in a lot of trouble but the rest of the week he's back to himself. I'm not convinced its pregnancy related just think it happens to be time to test what he can get away with AGAIN!

You are all mad wanting pregnancy to be over! I am not comfortable at all but newborns are such hard work!!! I am happy to be pregnant a bit longer, possibly that DH doesn't want anymore children so I will never be pregnant again after the next few weeks. Could also be because I'm only having 2 weeks off and being pregnant with lots of other kids around is what I have been doing whereas having a newborn and 3 others under 4 is totally unknown to me and I'm terrified how I'll cope!

Hi Jaysfourth, nice to hear from you. Fingers still crossed for your birth, how are your family coping without you?

Swordfishtrombones · 19/08/2010 10:36

Well I was getting all geared up on tuesday because I was getting so many weird pains, but now it's all gone back to lovely wriggling and getting kicked in the ribs. It feels like baby still has too much room in there! Don't think mine is imminent at all. I have been working out what to do with DD1 and DD2 when things kick off, and I can't possibly have the baby between this friday and tuesday as my emergency contacts are all away! I've got to hang on and keep my legs crossed until at least next wednesday Grin.

38 wks (and no homebirth kit yet......)

PS If you're listening baby, Wednesday would actually be perfect as DD2 is in nursery and they said they'll have DD1 as well.

comixminx · 19/08/2010 10:39

Oh hey Swordfishtrombones, seconded here! Yesterday I had a very tight lower abdomen for much of the late afternoon, followed by what really felt like a proper contraction, but only the one - after which it it all died down. I think maybe this one is going to be sooner than I'd originally expected (first baby = assume it'll be late & therefore in September) but let's see.

Blimey - not been on the thread for ages. Turn my back for a while and all of a sudden babies are being born right, left and centre!! Huge congrats Debs and Sassy!

AAAaaaargh, it's beginning to sink in that I'll have a small human to look after soon too. How very grown up and scary!!

coppertop · 19/08/2010 11:23

Just marking my place on the new thread.

(and reminding myself for the 100th time to pack my bag!)

PickleSarnie · 19/08/2010 11:43

Can you please remind me to pack my bag too coppertop on an hourly basis if possible. A big kick up the arse would be useful too. I've not so much dug a suitable bag to use out of the cupboard yet.

Coppertop and Picklesarnie PACK YOUR BAGS! Grin

catbus · 19/08/2010 13:53

Thought I'd pop in and say hello: posted on the last thread what seems like an age ago.

Have an 'unstable lie' baby here which is driving me mad: first time I have ever had to pack a bag for hospital, as all the other 3 were homebirths. Have to go in tomorrow to check position and it's all unknown territory for me. Still not packed said bag, although I have looked at it once or twice. Grin

I was deliberating whether subsequent births follow patterns and how much longer I really might have? ie:
dd1: 5 days before EDD
dd2: Bang on EDD
ds1: Bang on EDD.

However, I do have a theory. Both girls were born on a full moon and son born on a new moon. So, if it's a girl it should arrive next week and if it's a boy (as I have a feeling it may be), around due date. Or so I reckon!

37 weeks today and starting to countdown, whilst feeling quite a bit of pressure..aaagggh.

skyeplusbump · 19/08/2010 14:50

catbus my dd was born on a full moon too! weird...
this ones a boy so going to be late according to your theory = i do not like your theory.

coppertop and pickle PACK YOUR BAGS!!!

sooo glad other dc's are being a little difficult too...honestly feel like im failing her a bit now.shes so grumpy today...that MAY have something to do with the self inflicted head wound though,
piano-dancing-BANG-blood everywhere-screaming-a&e-glue-screaming...fun fun fun Grin

skyeplusbump · 19/08/2010 15:10

oh yeah, anyone else's boobs hurting?! ive been leaking a bit for a week or so,but they really ache today Sad Confused

37+4...i think...oh dear i have no brain left...Blush

PickleSarnie · 19/08/2010 15:42

Mmmmm catbus - you may be onto something. Homebirth = No bag to pack = No more need to procrastinate about doing mine.

Although my OH is worried enough about my waters breaking on our brand new mattress, I'm not sure how he'd feel about actually giving birth on it!

Off to write a list of stuff for my bag....

Jaysfourth · 19/08/2010 16:47

marking my spot also!

catbus - not sure what you know of an unstable lie, but i am in the same boat as you. have been hospitalised for the past week! I wont bore everyone else with the details over again, ( sure you are all familiar with it by now ;) ) but if you want to chat about it i am happy too :)

this is my fourth (as the name implies) also, but all of mine have been a week plus, overdue....what is it with the fourths... supposedly the worst pregnancy i am told!

comi, the title is apt and not cheesy, well done!!!

cinnamon, family are muddling along. Mum stays over when DH has to leave early for work and they are just working it out between them. Have added an extra day at nursery for them too, which is a help and they love it there so i dont feel guilty 'palming' them off......i do sometimes feel guilty that i am here, doing nothing while 'seemingly' fit thought, its a very strange situation to be in!!

xx

Jaysfourth · 19/08/2010 16:48

oops, i always forget (even though it was me who suggested it)

catbus · 19/08/2010 17:13

Jaysfourth Just caught up on your thread: hospitalised for THE PAST WEEEEEEK??!! Oh gawd: why though? In case you can't get to hospital on time? (Sorry if being thick).

I was told by MW last week that they will check position again tomorrow, if unsure scan (great, it turns around like a washing machine, so what the point in that would be I don't know). Then she said they would suggest ECV, baby would probably boing right out again so hospital plan suggested for labour, or ECS. Nice.

Feeling a bit muddled really: I would rather just know where I am going to birth, no transfers etc to worry kids and myself!

And yes, I don't know what is going on with 4th pg's: a friend has just had a rough time with her 4th too and I am now flapping like a loon. I have been worried from the start about this one as it feels so different: I never panicked at all with the others.

I hope your birth happens smoothly and soon: any advice most welcome! Smile

Monstermuncher · 19/08/2010 17:32

Hello all and thanks for the shiny new thread Comix!

Bag is packed (yay) but its actually a wheely case and its crammed full. I have just got the basics but they are bulky, dressing gown + pack of nappies has taken up loads of space. Oh well, its not me that will have to carry the darned thing :)

Getting loads of BH and the odd more painful tensing which I can only assume is a sort of contraction?

Anyone nesting yet? I just don't have the energy ...

parkj83 · 19/08/2010 17:53

Oh yes monster! I can't stop cleaning the kitchen, the TV, stand, dvd player etc, the bathroom etc! I cried the other day as I dusted my huge dresser/cabinet thingy, and polished so much that it set my carpal tunnel off :(

Drives me potty!!

Monstermuncher · 19/08/2010 18:10

I am impressed Park!

Jaysfourth · 19/08/2010 18:12

CATBUS, hospitalised due to high risk of cord prolapse should my waters break. if that happens then there is possibility of suffocation to the baby. There is also the possibility that other parts of the baby might be presented first, shoulder hand etc.... apparently there is only a 7 minute window after waters are broken to perform an ECS. Anyway, i don't want to alarm you, you still have time for baby to move round dont you ( not sure of your due date) if you like you can email me [email protected] and i can tell you anything you want :)

parkj83 · 19/08/2010 18:46

Thanks monster DH is too, as I usually duck out of don't like cleaning!
