TPS , I am sorry there was noone around last night to talk to . My bil died about 18mths after Harry and he too was an alcoholic , it is a horrible illness , the way it just takes a hold of someones life . He was only 33 and thought he had yrs to stop and rescue his health .

That is a lovely thing you are doing looking after your dn for a week , especially as she has the same thing as Mirrin . I am better now at looking after other peoples children the one I really struggled with was someone else looking after one of mine . I think people were doubly scared after Harry that something would happen to one of mine .

Dee I am so sorry to hear about your friends little girl . There really is no reasoning with this shite is there ?

Shabs it sounds like Tom had a fab time , you must have been so relieved .

Ilike , the meeting was as expected tbh , a lot of empty waffle and not many questions answered but that is about par for the course with social services

How is everyone doing this morning ? All ok here today .

ThePrettiestStar · 19/10/2009 08:10

Morning everyone,

No worries tw, think it was therapeutic blathering on to myself. I haven't had a day like yesterday in a while. I had too much wine as well, which doesn't help. Gosh 33 is really young... I didn't even realise you could do so much harm to yourself in such a short space of time. It's a shame.

I didn't expect anyone to be here and reply, I think you all have enough of your own things going on.

Dark and freezing here, winter is definitely coming in.

Hope everyone else is ok. xx

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 19/10/2009 13:39

{{{TPS}}}

I think you are amazing for looking after your DN with what you have been through.

I have looked after friends children and my niece and nephew and I'm fine with that, but I think that's because I didn't lose C all of a sudden and with no warning.

Tis hard. Everyone has their own demons and ways of coping.

It's cold here too. The heating has been on since we got up this morning.

Happy Birthday Everlong , I am sorry you are struggling today , I always struggled with my birthday for the first couple of years . I found the times when I should be happy harder to deal with than the times when I was allowed to be miserable iyswim.

Love to all today xx

{{{hugs Everlong}}}

I really didn't want to celebrate my birthday either, it just seemed such a waste of time and pointless.

frasersmummy · 20/10/2009 21:07

happy birthday everlong

I find people in rl really dont understand why I struggle on what is supposed to be a "happy day"

They dont seem to get there is always someone missing ..

I have been thinking of Fraser a lot recently ..was taking him a pot plant the other day and Ross said do I have to go I dont know Fraser I didnt know what to say

When we got there he did sit and talk to his big brother which was nice ..

Thelighthousekeeper · 20/10/2009 22:54

Happy Birthday Everlong. I hope the day has been kind to you. xx

Hope everyone is doing okay.

We are off to Cornwall on Thursday to visit friends for a few days. Hoping that the weather will improve!

Deemented · 21/10/2009 07:35

Morning folks xx

frasersmummy · 21/10/2009 08:14

morning guys - its been lovely here for a few days but typically today when we are off and we are going to a ship launch its pouring

have a nice break lighthouse.. hopefully between us we can will some sunshine

Oh pretty I dont do stress at all well anymore. I used to be one of life's copers.. but now when anything goes wrong its like havent I had enough to cope with in my life???

I was never prone to tears before Fraser. I would get annoyed and shout and rant at the world. Now I find the littlest of thing knocks me for 6 and before you can say its ok I am in floods of tears

I think this change is inevitable an trauma like ours is going to change you - how could it not??

I am now on ad's and find they dont stop me thinking of Fraser but when life happens I dont go to pieces (well not as much anyway)

Doctor wants to take me off them in the new year... wonder who will win that battle of wills

Evening everyone, (it's ThePrettiestStar - I have name changed)

Glad you managed to get through yesterday everlong, it's good that you are feeling a bit better today xx

frasersmummy, that's exactly it, I feel pretty pathetic for not being able to pick myself up and dust myself down as well as I used to. I know this sounds awful, I don't mean it this way, but I was glad that you could explain it so well. Do you think the AD's help much?

tw, do you fancy popping over here and blitzing my house while you're at it?

Any reason you're tired shabba, or just one of those days?

shabbapinkfrog · 21/10/2009 21:14

I look after my delicious 16 month old Grandson - Lewis - from 12 to 6pm every day...He is veeeeeeeeeeerrrry active and 'makes my ears bleed' with his chatter I am almost 53 and I am blaming it all on that xxx

He is a blessing - he has given me a reason to keep going. His talking is amazing - he has spent all day singing ,Mungebob, quare ants, (Spongebob square pants) louder than the song he is fantastic. I love the fact that he said today 'Anma, cook, pwease' he was hungry, as always!! He is a little dot with bright red hair and massive icy blue eyes....oh pass me two slices of bread he is good enough to eat xxx
