My DH has died

My beautiful DH died in my arms on Saturday aged 37, after an 18 month battle with cancer. I'm left with a 3 year old and a 1 month old ... and I still can't believe I am writing these words. I know some other MNetters have been through this too as I've been lurking for a while - Martianbishop, retiredgoth, onlyjoking, evenstar ... are you there? I've been reading your posts for months now (ever since he was declared terminal) but never had the courage to post before, but I know that you and others will know what I'm going through - the shock, the fear of the future, and some relief that the cruel disease is no longer a constant shadow in the house .. Tell me - is there any light at the end of the tunnel?

I will say a prayer for you and your DCs tonight. May your lovely husband rest in peace.

Notquitegrownup · 21/11/2008 09:30

Squidge - we haven't 'met' before, but I wanted to add my thoughts and prayers for you too. I am soo sorry to hear about your lovely husband.

I noticed that OJ didn't see your question about how you CAT someone. Just click on the little envelope on the right hand side of the screen, next to her name. You will need a credit/debit card the first time you do it, as there is a small charge to subscribe to the CAT system, but it works well. On the other hand, OJ might see this and CAT you instead!

OJ - what a wonderful letter you have copied here. Everyone should have a copy of that, to help them know what to do.

DutchOma · 21/11/2008 09:35

Dear Squidgemum, Boffinmum put a request on the prayerboard for us to pray into your sad situation, which of course I'll gladly do.
Nobody will be able to explain to you why this happened, but I know that the prayers of many have helped in coping with such a grievous loss.
On a practical note, could you please go to the 'my registration' page and tick that you are willing to receive messages from other mumsnetters. That means people can get in touch with you, although of course it is still up to you whether you want to answer their e.mail
Every blessing

DutchOma · 21/11/2008 09:37
