I have just read your entire thread, in tears. I am so sorry. Your DH is the same age as my son and I cant imagine how strong you must be to support your DH through his last months.
I wish you nothing but the best for 2018, carry on in the memory of your lovely man and campaign for awareness for all young men out there.
Thinking of you tonight.

HappyHedgehog247 · 31/12/2017 20:20

ah, I more meant are you going back to something familiar but hope you find something. You deserve some luck after what you have been through.x

princesssparkle1 · 31/12/2017 21:15

@Nifflerbowtruckle

I've just read everything. Such sadness.

Huge loves. 💕💜💕

HoHoHorsemad · 31/12/2017 21:27

Thinking of you Niffler and wishing you a calm and peaceful start to 2018.

Nifflerbowtruckle · 31/12/2017 21:57

Sorry happyhedgehog I misunderstood. I have only had 2 jobs and both are complete opposites of each other. I think retail will probably be my best bet.

Thank you all I hope 2018 is good for you all and I hope it's kinder on me than 2017 was.

I really hope 2018 is the start of better times. Sorry to be blunt but how is your financial set up? X

NoKnownFather · 31/12/2017 23:01

Niffler I truly hope 2018 is kinder to you, if anyone deserves a break, it's you!

If I can make one suggestion in relation to returning to work, and that is a job that is familiar and one which you find easy. While I was waiting for my 'old' job to become vacant I took on something entirely new, thinking my new life would be full of changes so may as well start now. Little did I realise that all the new stuff to learn during the grieving process was too much, but fortunately my old job was available sooner than expected and I found it so much easier to be able to rock up and carry on with something that was 100% familiar.

That 'new' job in normal times wouldn't have been a problem and actually a year or three later I progressed to a much, more difficult job, but by then had worked my way through the grief and was in a totally different space. Moral of the story is to be easy on yourself.

Thinking of you as I know you have birthdays and anniversaries coming up. Flowers

FellOutOfBed2wice · 31/12/2017 23:10

Commented on your last thread Niffler. Wishing you every happiness, inasmuch as that’s possible, this coming year.

TinselTwat · 31/12/2017 23:10

Niffler I read the whole of your last thread but I just had no words I could offer you. I'm incredibly unbelievably sorry that this has happened to you. My mum has cancer.
I hope 2018 is gentle Flowers

Nifflerbowtruckle · 31/12/2017 23:23

Financially I'm set for 3-4 months possibly longer so although I have some leeway with timing I'd rather not wait too long and it be too late. To be honest the job I'd rather do would be something that doesn't involve people like dog walking but that wouldn't be sensible.

OP posts:
Nifflerbowtruckle · 31/12/2017 23:25

I'm really sorry to hear that tinsel cancer really is the devil's work.

princesssparkle1 · 31/12/2017 23:29

It might be possible as a p/t job going forwards, when you have more time and energy to think about the wherefores, @Nifflerbowtruckle

Chasingsquirrels · 31/12/2017 23:36

Dog walking could be an option if it's what you want to do Niffler.
(Sorry haven't posted on your thread much since the beginning, bit difficult).
Glad to hear that you are home in familiar surroundings and with a fab ndn.

elisaveta · 01/01/2018 00:40

Thinking of you niffler. Wishing you peace.

ineedaholidaynow · 01/01/2018 10:41

Thinking of you Niffler Flowers

With respect to work would dog sitting be an option? So you look after dogs in your home both for people at work and whilst they are on holiday.

Nifflerbowtruckle · 01/01/2018 11:58

My concern would be that I would more than likely need to be self employed, have public liability insurance, extra insurance for my car and then it's become quite popular so I'm not sure on getting customers. Unfortunately I live in rented accommodation so I wouldn't be able to dog sit.

Just checking in to say hello and hope things are OK.

SingaSong12 · 02/01/2018 17:34

Sorry maybe my last post sounds insensitive on this thread Flowers

Nifflerbowtruckle · 02/01/2018 19:38

It doesn't sound insensitive. Everyone has a cold and I feel rubbish which is compounded by it being DH birthday today Sad

Wrongwayup · 02/01/2018 20:25

Sorry to hear that you have a cold. You say everyone. Who is everyone. Just wondering what support you have. I hope you can remember dh today as he was on earlier happy birthdays. X

Nifflerbowtruckle · 02/01/2018 20:53

PIL are both ill. FIL had an infection that required antibiotics and mil has a cold too. I'm going back home tomorrow though. I need to rest properly in my own bed.

OP posts:
Chasingsquirrels · 02/01/2018 21:23

Didn't realise you were back with PIL niffler and hugs for today, Hope you have got through it as well as possible xx

I don't know if anyone has mentioned Widowed and Young to you?
It is an internet forum, you have to pay to join but it is not very expensive.
There are also various spin off Facebook groups.
I've found it invaluable at times.

HappyHedgehog247 · 02/01/2018 21:36

Thinking of you Niffler on this difficult day and hope you are soon at home in your own bed. There was a really good Guardian series about a man who lost his wife and found some support through widowed and young. He spoke highly of them.
