Is anyone up?

I can’t sleep.

My husband was killed in a car crash today.

We’d just moved house and he was so happy.

I'm so so sorry OP. No words can give you comfort at this time. There are no 'should do's'. Just do whatever you need to do to get through the moment Thanks

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mother in a car crash and it was very hard. Please be kind to yourself. Take each minute at a time - don't try and plan too far ahead. I found routine was comforting, doing things that I had always done. It was hard, though. Flowers

Chardonnaymoi · 01/12/2017 07:10

I’m so sorry. You will get through this but be kind to yourself and accept all the love and support that will be offered to you.....
It’s not fair I know. Sending you hugs xx

purplepandas · 01/12/2017 07:11

Op, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. You must be utterly shell shocked as others have said. Please do whatever feel a right for you and your DC now and over the coming weeks and months. I live the idea of dressing your husband in his beloved heavy metal t-shirt. Perfectly fitting.

No words but much love. Keeping you all in my thoughts. Flowers

Rainshowers · 01/12/2017 07:21

I'm so so sorry, thinking of you and your family.

My dad died in similar circumstances two years ago. He didn't make it to hospital either.

None of you will feel like eating but please look after yourself, and do what you need to get through the next few days. For me and my mum it was keeping busy, for my brother it was just getting some space from all the visitors and making up excuses to get out of the house for a bit. If people offer you lifts over the next few days, take them up on it. I found it daunting being back behind the wheel and it took a while before I was ready. Take your friends up on offers of help, but also don't be afraid to shut the door on everyone and have some 'family time'

It probably all seems surreal right now, and will continue to do so. But I promise you can get through this x

TowerRingInferno · 01/12/2017 07:22

So sorry. Flowers

I'm so sorry OP Flowers

I lost my Dad when I was 16, not to a car crash but it was sudden. I saw my Mum breakdown and cry but it was good for me to see her show her emotion and we helped each other. You're children are stronger than you think and you need to grieve. You sound like a brilliant Mum.
