My husband was killed in a car crash today.

We’d just moved house and he was so happy.

Don't hold in your emotions in front of your lad. It won't make the grief any more painful for him than it already is. It may help you both. And take your friend up on her offer. You need those who love you round you.

I'm so sorry OP - what a terrible shock for you all. I hope you can break down somewhere away from your children - it's a completely normal way to feel. I think the t shirt is a lovely idea. I hope you can get even a couple of hours' sleep tonight.

You are all so lovely.
I have been on the phone to another friend. He lives in California. The love and support is pouring in. We even managed to laugh about the heavy metal tshrt. My California friend lost both his parents in a car crash when he was the same age as my middle son. He has been a great help and has promised to phone again tomorrow. He understands more than anyone else I know, what my children are going through.

I really can't imagine how you're feeling right now. I know that you'll be devastated. I'm so sorry, For you and for your children!
