Hi Rozzles. Congratulations on your impending birth of a new little life. Possibly this is a very emotional time for you and I think it's only natural it has bought your grief at losing your mum. After the baby is born , hopefully you will settle down again. It's normal also to envy others who still have their mums, especially at this time. Wishing you all the best for the birth, do come back and let us know when it happens 💐

I will start a new thread very soon as I see this one is coming to an end shortly.

Thank you both- grief is dynamic and the sadness hits you much more some days than others- I feel much more positive about it today- goodness knows the hormones probably have a lot to answer for at this time!! You are right about a parent living on in your children, I see that in my two girls, and I also see it in the way I parent themself- I feel myself saying things that could have come straight from mum! X

@Rozzles I could have written some of your post. My mum and dad both passed away a few months ago, 11 weeks apart.i was 9 weeks pregnant when Mum died - 20 weeks when Dad did. My baby was born 2 weeks ago, and I'm struggling. I have no other family, so I had no one to call to let them know she was born. I struggled with my PIL's visiting too, as my parents should have been there. It's so hard. Sending a hug x

Hello, please can I join you all? I've been on the dementia and elderly parents threads for a couple of months and now, I don't know where to go! My lovely Dad died on Sunday morning, in his care home. I'm so sad. But confused by the lurching between different emotions. I find it really weird. My Mum has been living with us for several months and we're waiting for her new place to go through. It's just so strange and sad and. Well. I'm out of words really. I hope to be of use to other people here and will be reading this thread to look for ideas on how to keep on putting one foot in front of the other. Love to all who have found themselves needing this thread.

Hello Christmas I am sorry you have had to join us, but hopefully we will be able to help you. Your loss is so new at the moment I am not surprised your emotions are all over the place. It's a very sad and difficult time, but on one hand it's good that your mum is already with you, so you can help each other. The advice I would give you at the moment is to just get through each day as it comes. You will have moments when you feel overwhelmed and others where for a little while you will feel relatively ok. The grief and the tears come sometimes when you least expect them. Do accept any help from your friends and family and don't hesitate to post here whenever you need a shoulder. 💐

I had a leak on my bath today... it came through the ceiling. Spent most of the day feeling close to tears as my Dad was a plumber, and I used to call him for advice...just another thing I can't do anymore. Posting on here as there is no one to talk to in RL that understands x

Oh crikey hot I quite understand why you are upset. Normally you would of just phoned your dad, but now it's not possible. Makes everything hit home dosent it. Is there anyone else that can help you out ?
How is baby doing ?

I am going to start a new thread now, before I forget !
