Thank you for starting this new thread Porto
Can't believe the other one hit 1000 posts. Just proves what an amazing, supportive group of people you are.
Well, two lovely ladies turned up at the house this morning and I think they are going to be an absolute Godsend. They got stuck in straight away, getting everything organised for Richard's return. They are even happy to share the guest room so my SIL gets her own bedroom too, rather than the sofabed!
It was very, very emotional leaving the hospice, taking the do not resuscitate order to put in the fridge, saying goodbye to all the wonderful, wonderful people there. DH is happy to be home, asking to see all of his children. He's a very ill, exhausted man though and the 5 mile journey took it out of him.
It's brilliant to have Richard at home, but very scary too. I had to ask what to do when he does pass away - I had not a clue, who to call, whatever. I have had a lot of tears today - I know none of us know our future but Richard's illness has really shoved that under my nose and makes everything seem so bloody fragile.
Still, the sun is shining, the sitting room looks lovely with its bunting welcome home banners and Richard is home
