An old friend in the US has named her baby daughter McCaa. The only reason I know it's a girl is because her middle name is Laura!

My favourite, read about once in a music magazine and instantly imprinted on my memory forever, are a brother and sister called Caractacus and Boudicca. They're the children of a distinguished English orchestral conductor. I guess Moon Unit and Dweezil just wouldn't cut it

There is a child at DD's school called Devant, as in French for "in front." Pronounced Dev-ant, no French "Dev-ong."

Desperate to know if he has a sister called Derriere!

Puffin (a girl). Not wacky spelling or anything, just Puffin.

Dh did once know a Candida Smellie, but it was emphatically pronounced Smilie.

belgo · 28/03/2009 13:28

jumpjockey- in some cases eg.Candida Smellie, people really should get their name officially changed! It's just cruel to go through life with a name like that.

dizietsma · 28/03/2009 13:38

Magnar. Polish name meaning- "Strength Warrior". DH insists if we have a boy he'll sneak off to the register office without me and inflict it upon our son!

mummynumber2 · 28/03/2009 13:45

I know a little girl called Happiness. I actually think it's lovely, luckily whenever I've seen her she's been very bubbly and happy but there are some kids it wouldn't suit!

Wispabarsareback · 29/03/2009 05:31

There was a little girl at DD1's nursery called Blessing. She was very sweet - and I guess she'll grow up knowing just how much her parents wanted her!

Wispabarsareback · 29/03/2009 05:33

Oh yes, I also know of a Destiny and a Triumph.

Thinking about it I've come across all sorts of v strange names - it's par for the course where I live in SE London!
