How many Jude’s do you know?

I’m thinking of calling my second DS Jude but I am worried about its popularity. I’ve personally never met a male baby or adult Jude but have seen about 5 influencers on Instagram naming their child this! It does put me off but would it be silly to not use it for this reason even though I love it? I had the same issue with the name Ezra with ds1 and in the end didn’t go with it because it suddenly got very popular when I thought I was being unique! I really don’t want a ‘trendy’ name for my child that will date badly. Is Jude one of those names??

3 boys. One a toddler. Two primary school age.

Brooomhilda · 27/01/2025 09:51

I know one almost 4 year old. And it's bloody adorable on a little kid. It's also one of those great names that everyone knows but not many people are called so you won't have that awkward thing of a new teaching staring at a register trying to work out the next name that's written down.

Two kids in my sons class (primary)
Three Jude’s in senior school
Two Jude’s from football

Popular around here I guess?

RIPVPROG · 27/01/2025 09:52

I don't know any but it was on my short list for DS. We have a long surname and went with a two syllable name instead just because it felt more balanced

Law, Bellingham, Hey, ice cream.

sel2223 · 27/01/2025 10:02

The only male Judes I know are law and Bellingham, none in real life.
I really like it - it would have been on our list if we were having a boy

I know one female who's actually Judith but has always gone by Jude. She's in her 60's

stanleypops66 · 27/01/2025 10:05

One is 5 and make and the other is a female adult (mid 40's).

Printedword · 27/01/2025 10:08

I know or know of about 4. Two are adults - a young man and a female friend in her 40s

rainbowstardrops · 27/01/2025 10:09

I've worked in a school, nursery and as a nanny and I've never come across a Jude. I absolutely love it though!
My auntie was known as Jude but her full name was Judith

ItGhoul · 27/01/2025 10:10

I know three Judes. One is a colleague in his early 20s and the other two are kids - one is about 10 (son of an old school friend) and the other is a toddler (son of a colleague).
