I'm expecting a baby girl and am interested to know what names are coming up in your child's nursery or class (primary school) a lot at the moment?

They're gorgeous names and yes, not necessarily the ones you would expect. I love them all apart from Scarlett.

In my children's year groups there are multiples of (in year 2): Annabella, Amelia, Amelie and Freya and (in reception): Penelope, Lucy and Eva.

nurseynursery · 01/04/2023 15:19

Many to say multiples of all these.

You know you can get all this information for the national statistics website and it actually tells you how many babies were named each name each year. We purposely didn't pick anything that was top 50.

I would say across my school the most popular are definitely Isla, Amelia / Emilia, Charlotte, Olivia and Sophia. Every class from the nursery to Year 3 has an Amelia / Emilia and the rest are well spread out across the board.

They’re beautiful names though, popular for a reason!

Also a good selection of Isabella’s and Maggie’s (the latter of which surprises me but it’s also grown on me!)

cptartapp · 01/04/2023 16:05

Every other girl is called Margot atm.
Lots of ie ending names for both boys and girls.
