Do you prefer mine or my husband's names?

Husband and I have finally made our final choices. But still, we are stuck, so please send tell me which ones do you prefer, be as honest as you want ( Not easily offended). We don't know the sex , and I am due at the end of this month.

His choice
A girl: Harper-Rose
A boy : Levi

My choices
G: Victoria
B: Owen

Which do you prefer ?

Rose is lovely. Classic, and always elegant.

I don't like Levi for either boy or girl but would choose it over Owen.

I prefer Victoria and Levi. I don't like hyphenated names, and Owen isn't a bad name but it's not one I'd personally choose.

Otis? Not totally dissimilar sound to Owen but has an edgier vibe, which is what I think he might be going for with Levi.

Victoria is my favourite name (my daughters name so I am biased). Sorry I don't like any of the others but if pushed I'd go with Owen.

Surprised so many people dislike Owen. I think it's a good solid name, if not overly exciting. In Ireland Eoin and Eoghan (pronounced the same as Owen) are considered mainstream classic names.

Harper-Rose is naff although both component parts are fine on their own.
Levi - okay
Victoria - not a fan of that dumpling shaped queen. Vicky is awful.

@TheDuchessOfMN , you might think so. My point about Owen was that it's a first name and a surname. There are other forms of the surname, namely Bowen or Owens. I quite like the names you say are dull but much prefer Owain to Owen.

I don't like occupation surnames or 'son of' names as first names.

I like Harper but not hyphenated. Prefer Owen to Levi.

Victoria NN Tori definitely. Harper just seems like it will date terribly.

I don't like either of your boy names sorry but if I really had to choose I'd go for Owen as their was a bully at school called Levi who was just a vile teenage boy who everybody hated

Buy him a pair of Levi’s and tell him to forget about Levi.
Euan and Ewen are other versions of Owen.

His are awful and yours are nice and solid.

Also…. on the issue of compromise…. you have given up nine months of your life to carry this darling baby and will have gone through hell by the time he/she is born. Hopefully he won’t be able to refuse you anything on the day of the birth and you will get the casting vote.

And as above, Levi is clearly a serial killer.

I’ve never heard of a serial killer called Levi, was that his first name or last name?
I thought of Levi Roots which I thought was fine, but to be fair I just googled him and he has 8 kids with 7 women so possibly the only man in Britain with a worse track record than BoJo!

Rose is lovely. His names are awful I think and I'm not a huge fan of Owen either. Is this your first child? If so, once he's seen you have the baby and your postnatal hormones are all over the place, I'd say the odds are in your favour of coming out on top 😜

I like Levi. I'm not british so I don't see the "dated" aspect if there is one though.

If he likes Levi for a girl, would he compromise on Olivia nn Liv ? Similar sound. Or Viviane/Vivy ?

I like Harper but Harper Rose is way too much. Victoria is nice. Not keen on Owen, it's too vowelly.
